I don't know any handsome men with ugly women. It's usually the other way around. But handsome men will marry plain, basic or average women for many reasons. In fact I rarely see straight couples were both the men and women are equally beautiful. Beautiful women want men who are reliable or bring in money or have a good personality. On a trip to flyoverstan in the mid 90s (when the average American was much less obese than today) my friend and I noticed many many early 30s couples where the guy was average to handsome & in decent shape and the wife was just fat. At the time we postulated that they had been equally matched back in High School and the woman just hit the wall earlier and harder - there were so many examples all those guys couldn’t have had a fat fetish.

Linda Eastman was quite striking and had very attractive features. She didn't wear much make-up to accentuate her looks, but that was the style at the time.

It's not all about looks. Interests in common and just a connection can lead to the relationship. Sting and Styler seem to have had something like that and they've continued to grow in the same directions. Some very good looking people evolve beyond the superficial, maybe because they realize that most people just are interested in them because of their looks. They can focus on finding someone who connects with them in ways that are deeper. People who don't have a connection beyond looks won't be staying together.

Then there may be women who are kind of okay looking but went to a bad stylist before a big event and got something weird done to their hair and that ruins the look. Then there are some weird things going on. Some people think that people are sort of attracted to someone who looks like them. Like, Paul McCartney has those down-turned eyes, and so did Linda. Sting is hot but has that silly putty face, and Trudie just has in in a more extreme way. (But she also looks like she has bad plastic surgery face.) Then there may be some weird thing where a person unconsciencely marries someone whose looks will even out their looks, so the babies will be better looking. JFK's eyes were way too close together but Jackie's eyes were insanely far apart. (Okay, John John was a beauty but Caroline wasn't, so that's maybe not a great example.)

I'm just saying there might be something that attracts the one you think is hot to the one you think is not.
