Too be honest I prefer Erica to Rinna. Her real life problems made her much more blunt and honest in reality. You could tell her dysfunction came from the heart and was not manufactured for ratings. I think she is a better villain because her fight for survival is grounded in the reality of her being able to sink or swim on this show. Her new home is about the size of her old bedroom. Watching her blowfish assistants and stylist still suck up to her just to be on television (because you know she is not paying them) is endlessly entertaining with their hopes of her hair extensions turning into a multi-million dollar business. Her anger is real, her self-destruction is in real time. So I am fascinated to see how she will 180 with the woman when she is backed into a corner. She is a cold hearted, scrappy southern belle who will figure it out or burn the place down. I'll be watching on the edge of my seat.

Thanks for answering my question. I don't watch RHOBH, I take that back, I watched a few episodes the first season and never went back. I only know Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed from Days of our Lives. I don't know Kathy Hilton either, but based on who she raised, I have no doubt that she probably said both the N and F words at various times in her life.

I agree R72, the show actually needs Rinna, but not in her current iteration. Everything felt so fake and put on and genuinely mean these past few seasons. Usually, she’s got a handle on the camp and drama of it all. She can be keenly self aware about what these shows need, but unfortunately it got away from her these past couple of seasons. She went from no holds barred truth teller to bullshit drama creator and barely hidden privileged white lady racism. To be honest, I think Lisa's turning point on the show was her relationship with Denise. Denise was originally brought on as a Friend of Lisa's. But soon her and Denise were kind of playing the same role as truth tellers, somewhat outsiders, everyday women commenting on the silliness of the Beverly Hills lifestyle. Originally Lisa, like Denise, didn't have designer bags, designer clothes. They were both somewhat famous stars before coming on the show, but at different levels of fame.

But the difference is that Denise in the past was a movie star and tabloid fodder for many years being married to Charlie Sheen while Lisa was a lowly soap opera actress. Denise eschewed the very fame and notoriety that Lisa so vigorously courted. So I think Lisa was ultimately jealous of Denise because she was at a time part of Hollywood royalty by marriage and could take or leave the fame and money of the show. I am not sure why she really did it in the first place. Even though she soon realized it was a mistake. So Lisa sabotaged Denise very awkwardly and threw their friendship under the bus just to get rid of her more likeable competition off the show.

But aren't these things "loosely" scripted? Not saying that they're reading from a script, but aren't the situations producer-influenced and then edited in certain ways to sweeten the drama. Then they add the confessionals to frame a certain storyline? Wouldn't the most logical answer for Lisa being fired be salary demands and not because she's so hated? And won't they just create another villain? Who was the villain before Lisa?

What happened with Rinna is what happened with Tamara a few years ago. She became predictable, stale, and lost all favor with the audience. She took it all too far. This is the new way these housewives get fired- the audience really turns on them and they have become too predictable/contrived.

Also, there was no fucking mutual decision- This is what Bravo allows- they always let the housewives leave and look good- unless they are not in good favor or fucked over the show- like Adrienne not attending the reunion. Then - she attacked Yolonda Hadid, saying she was faking Lyme for attention, then pretty much said Lisa Vandperpump made her say it. She then went on to get the cast behind hating LVP saying she was responsible for every bad rumor in the press about everyone. She told Eden Sasson that Kim Richards was close to death and Kyle was her enabler, then when confronted about it lied by saying she does not remember saying it at all. When Lisa joked about doing Xanax (she carried around a large bag of pills she said had everything from aspirin to Xanax in it), Dorit repeated it. Lisa accused Dorit of calling her a drug addict and then accused Dorit of doing cocaine in her bathroom at a dinner party. When Denise Richards came on the show, she was a 20-year friend with Lisa, even having dated the same guys. When Brandi accused Denise of having a Lesbian affair with her, Rinna pushed that story instead of defending her friend. She was trying to force Denise to say it, then accused Denise of gaslighting the whole cast, ending their friendship forever. Sutton Strake came on as a friend of Lisa's She turned on her too. When Lisa made a big deal about Garcelle not thanking Harry Hamlin for a gift, Garcelle replied she did, she had the text and Lisa said she should have done it personally. on WWHL, Sutton made a small joke that Lisa never thanked her for getting her seats at the Elton John Oscar Party. Rinna went off on Instagram like she was Meryl Streep and needed no one to get into an Oscar party. This was off-season so the next Season Rinna made a whole storyline about it, and tied it to her mother dying to make herself look good but it backfired. Through all of this, she oddly stuck by Erika Jayne and all her legal troubles. She had dumped, backstabbed or killed every friendship on the show or even before the show but with Erika she stood by and protected her and no one could figure out why. The final straw was Kathy Hilton. Kathy is a friend of, not even a housewife. In her first season, she was a loveable goofball who won the fans over, so of course Rinna had her in her sights. Kathy, like all the wives, was promoting a tequila brand she and Paris invested in. For some reason, this bugged Rinna. During a trip where Kathy had arranged to have her tequila served, Rinna made it a point to name-drop another Tequila brand by her good friend Kendal Jenner in Kathy's earshot, setting her off. Here we learned Kathy has a temper. The next night at a club, Kathy got mad about the DJ telling her to go back to LA if she wants to request songs (she wanted to hear Michael Jackson who was her childhood friend). Kathy left in a huff and Lisa went with her alone. All of this is off mic of course, but Rinna claims Kathy had a meltdown in the van and in the home in aspen calling everyone on the show names and saying she would ruin her sister Kyle. Rinna claimed it was so bad she had to lock herself in her room and she was traumatized. She was texting Erika all night about Kathy but did not have the mind to record her with her phone to get it apparently. She then told Kyle and everyone the next day after Kathy had texted her apologizing for whatever happened and saying we all have our moments. Rinna saw gold and an opportunity to make Kathy look bad on the show. Kathy would turn out to be no fool and went right back after Rinna repeating every shitty thing she did on the show, and how her reputation was to be the biggest bully in Hollywood. The fan base agreed with Kathy.

Brandi returning in the current climate would be a mistake. It got hard to watch Rinna overplaying her hand as a truth-telling shit-stirrer and Brandi is like that 24/7 with none of the control Rinna showed in earlier seasons.

Brandi was repeatedly racist to Joyce, slapped Lisa, shoved Kyle, tried to grind on Mauricio when he was dancing with his daughter. She’s a fucking disaster. And Gen Z and younger Millennial viewers will hate her the way they hate Bethenny and look at her attempted reinvention as a TikTok Aunt as a fucking joke.

That said Bravo will probably bring her back.

It is very difficult to believe Rinna wasn’t gleefully gossiping along with her and taking notes rather than apparently locking herself in her bedroom, terrified.

All Erika had on Kathy was a claim he called a DJ a homophobic slur. Given there’s no footage, Erika’s dislike of Kathy and Erika’s rage the previous night, she’s not exactly a reliable source.

It’s kind of a medium-sized Housewives/celebrity meltdown which was amplified into something bigger and stupider because Lisa and Erika were trying to blow it up and no one else really cared other than Kyle.

The only problem I have with this is that New Blood is always given a grace season where they don't have to get tangled up in everything so that people get used to them. No, it's not totally manufactured. It isn't scripted. Driving the drama may be scripted - "you are going to meet so and so to talk about this or that." But these women HAVE to bring some kind of drama to stay on the show. They get paid 500k-over a $1 million for some a season. And for a lot of these women, no matter what they were before, this becomes their main income. So they really end up going at each other. And then there is always the Bethany Frankel dream of going from the absolute bottom to a multi millionaire. So the drama isn't made up, but the women really blow it out of proportion for their own personal storylines. Sometimes those made up things end up taking a dark turn. And sometimes you have very real life drama that bleeds into the show, like Erika's lawsuits and fraud cases, the death of Rinna's mom, Dorit's "robbery."

This one of the most real moments of any Franchise - Porsha yanking Kenya to the ground by her hair. fast foward to 4:30 and watch the build up.

The thing to remember is these women aren't actually a circle of friends. Yes, some people are brought on as friends of such-and-such, and real friendships are created that exist outside of the show. But these women are coworkers. So the real drama of the show is watching what these women will and won't do, what lines they will cross to keep their jobs. And these jobs can be very lucrative if played right. Kenya Moore and Bethenny Frankel being very good examples.

The top four penultimate fights are RHONJ "Prostitution Whore" table flip, the "You Stole My House!" limo fight in RHOBH, the "Don't Talk About My Husband," Amsterdam wine glass smash in RHOBH and Porsha vs. Kenya RHOA Reunion smackdown.
