It's only because trailblazers like Barbara Walters did the hard part by forcing the industry to take women journalists seriously and give them rigorous assignments and visibility. She didn't have the luxury of working from home, or using Zoom, or earning millions. She had to fly to China, and Cuba, and West Berlin. She had to do it the hard way.

Barbara and her daughter were clients of mine. I know for a fact that in her adult years Barbara dotted on her daughter. She loved her very much and did what she could for her. I think her daughter was caught up in drugs for a bit too when she was younger. I am sure Barbara did the best she could making sacrifices she wasn't exactly proud of. But so do most working mothers.
