How are you Starting the New Year?

I am cooking breakfast (eggs, bacon, biscuits) while drinking coffee and listening to Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 (Claudio Abbado conducting the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and soloist Martha Argerich).

I usually sleep really late when I don't have to work (I take the dog out and go back to bed) but this morning we stayed up. I am going to make homemade super crusty bread, spinach, artichoke and goat cheese dip and fried chicken breasts. I am going to put coconut oil in my hair so I can bleach my roots later. I may finish the curtains I am making but maybe not.

R4 on a holiday Sunday?

Going to make lentil soup, or Marcella's Tomato Sauce #3.

Listening to Donald Fagen's The Nightfly on CD. I started listening to my CD collection again in April. I listen to music files, too, but I was too afraid of their disappearing in a computer/hard drive crash, so I never got rid of my 500+ CDs.

Went to an online AA meeting when I woke up.

Eating potato cheese soup and watching Ancient Aliens. Going to head to town later on to pickup a few things.

Yes, R5. I work from home. So far I've spent most of my shift just sitting here.

Watching tv and exchanging HNY texts with a few people. I have COVID, so won’t be going anywhere for a few days.

Went for a walk. Made TJs frozen Belgian waffles and topped them with blueberries and sliced banana. Will go for a longer walk soon.

I made coffee and brushed the cats. Then I watched CBS Sunday Morning. Then vacuuming. Now Datalounge and doing laundry. The excitement is killing me!

I went to services at my Presbyterian Church.

Now going for a long run

Relaxing. Going to work on my resolutions. I feel a blessing of desperation. It’s time to make good changes , even if scary lol. I want to start watching Better Call Saul as well. I have tomorrow off so yay 😀

by Anonymousreply 16January 1, 2023 6:14 PM

Playing games, watching a bit of the first Harry Potter movie, bit of laundry.

by Anonymousreply 17January 1, 2023 6:21 PM

Bread's made, house semi-cleaned, hair coconutted. I repotted some plants. The firesticks immediately went into their leaf cycle, within the day they sprouted tiny leaf buds, the buds grew into small feathery leaves, turned bright flame orange, grew to the size of a bee wing and will fall off by tomorrow night. I hope this leads to the firestick branches to go from green to flame orange again, they haven't done that for at least a year, maybe a year and a half.
