I was just curious if its worth it to see.
Has anyone saw the musical " The Book of Mormon"?

Very silly but funny.

Are you Swiss?

Yeah, I seen it, OP.

It’s very good

Oh, DEAR.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 31, 2022 3:59 PM |
I wasn’t impressed at all with Book of Mormon. The music and story weren’t great.
And I was stuck behind an old woman wearing a beehive. A beehive? In Chicago? In 2014? Stupid hag.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 31, 2022 4:03 PM |
I honestly didn’t think it was that entertaining. It was just okay.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 31, 2022 4:07 PM |
yes you should see it
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 31, 2022 4:21 PM |
Perhaps open 'The Book of Grammar' before delving in to the world of the arts?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 31, 2022 4:27 PM |
I saw it when it opened on Broadway. It’s very funny but unabashedly vulgar.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 31, 2022 4:31 PM |
Vulgar—no one is spared—just like South Park.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 31, 2022 4:34 PM |
I saw it when a touring company when it came to my city. Did not enjoy it.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 31, 2022 4:47 PM |
Too vulgar
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 31, 2022 5:21 PM |
I've seen it on Broadway and in London. Vulgar and terribly funny at the same time. If South Park makes you laugh, you'll love it. If you're not a South Park fan you might still really enjoy it.
Best marketing ploy of all time: in professional productions the Church of the Latter Day Saints always places an ad saying, "You've seen the musical -now read the book!" (or something along those lines). For all it's vulgarity, the show doesn't actually attack the religion itself, and the church's response is to laugh and say, "Let us tell you more about it."
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 31, 2022 5:32 PM |
Lol, R2, no I'm from West Virginia. I'm a hillbilly.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 31, 2022 7:40 PM |
Sorry R9, I will work on my grammar. You have me a chuckle though.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 31, 2022 7:46 PM |
Thank you guys for answering. My Son wants us to go see it. I've only been to one musical and that was years ago. When you guys say its unabashedly vulgar, do you mean nudity? Or just South Park humor?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 31, 2022 7:51 PM |
South Park humor. If your son is older than 14, go see it. No nudity.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 31, 2022 8:14 PM |
Left during intermission. Hated it. I like South Park: The Movie and Cannibal:The Musical but just hated this piece of shit.

"Don't fuck the baby!"
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 31, 2022 9:03 PM |
They lost me at the song about fucking babies. Just no.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 31, 2022 9:11 PM |
OP, it’s “has anyone seen …”
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 31, 2022 9:13 PM |
Twice – on Broadway and the Pantages in LA.
It's a fun way to waste a couple hours. If you know some mainstream grievances about Mormonism, it can be uproariously funny. But it is not memorable.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 31, 2022 9:23 PM |
It's entertaining but it's like a running dirty joke - the first couple of times, it's funny. After that, it just seems kind of tiresome. But even though it's called "The Book of Mormon", it makes fun of organized religion in general, not just the Mormons. But if I wasn't paying a lot of $$ for the tickets, I'd see it again.

The first South Park movie is funnier
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 31, 2022 9:45 PM |
It's much better than all of the new shit on Broadway now.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 1, 2023 1:59 AM |
I wonder if the people who hate it saw the new "woke" version. The cancel culture made them change the ending.

If only there was a website into which one could input questions and obtain a list of links with information responsive to the question….

I saw it in London, and won free tickets at the box office lottery. We got front-row seats but not always the best since you have to look up to watch the show but it was OK. I loved it with the exception of the one angry song about God.. I am not religious but it was a bit too cringy for me.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 1, 2023 3:06 AM |
I realize that now R22. Sorry about that. Happy New Year to you and everyone.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 1, 2023 3:26 AM |
Thank you R18. My Son is 31, and really likes SP.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 1, 2023 3:27 AM |
R31, that's what I thought. SP humor can be funny and outrageous, but can be a little cringyy. Lucky you getting to see it in London. Happy New Year.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 1, 2023 3:29 AM |
Most people I’ve talked to who saw it loved it, but I personally hated it.
It’s definitely vulgar, but really not very funny. And the satire is weak as shit. The show lovingly kisses the Mormon Church’s ass, which is why they advertise in the Playbill.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 1, 2023 12:16 PM |
Go see it. It's clever and unbelievably hysterical. Not to mention just a great overall production to visually see as well. A perfect night at the theater.

R17/R33, unless you worship him, your son doesn't need capitalization.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 1, 2023 1:19 PM |
R17 SP humor, why woud there be nudity? I thought it was funny at first, but it was too long. Your kid would probably like it, they kind of ride the idea into the ground. The mormon south park episode was fucking great but this was just too long.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 1, 2023 1:28 PM |
OP, see the show and soon...... this will be you!

R39 and R40, I laughed so hard!!!!

by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 1, 2023 3:30 PM |
OP, it's very funny and entertaining. I saw it years ago and had a wonderful time.

OP is God! He and his Son are off to see a musical. The Holy Ghost is sitting this one out, however.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 1, 2023 6:28 PM |
Obviously God and his Son were Ghosted.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 1, 2023 7:11 PM |
I saw the original Broadway cast and enjoyed it. Very, very funny in a sophomoric, bawdy way. But that doesn’t make it less entertaining.
Check your sense of taste at the door and enjoy yourselves!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 1, 2023 9:40 PM |
There used to be chunks of it on you tube. Just a lot of profanity and not funny. I remember a stage full of people of color yelling 'cunt.' No thank you.
