Typical.

I'm not saying I want you to be slaughtered in a horrific massacre, R6, I'm just saying that if you ever were I'd make sure there was a nice long many-part DL thread about it and I'd especially like the bits where we'd pick over your social media to discuss your tragic existence and many flaws.

A quote from Ethan’s family in the article at R2:
“Over the last seven weeks, we stood by the Moscow Police Department, FBI, and Idaho State Police, confident they would solve this crime. So, when we received the phone call last night, we congratulated them for their diligent work and service,” they said.
This seems like a not-so-subtle dig at Kaylee’s dad, right? Not that I blame them. He was like a bull in a china shop and seemed completely unaware that there were other victims besides his daughter and her best friend.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 31, 2022 2:00 AM |
Looks like the Incel theory might be holding up? Seems like he got thrown out of previous friend groups for bullying and for coming on to a friend's girlfriend. Plus his former heavy drug use, his strong interest in crime (might come off as creepy), his past heavy drug use and his 'dead-eyed stare'. Probably had below average social skills and problems attracting women: despite the fact that he did well academically and seemed to have quite a lot going for him.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 31, 2022 2:05 AM |
I somehow missed the link about his drug use, anyone care to post a link please???
I thought for sure his thinness had something more to do with OCD but that was based on pure conjecture.

"B.K. Norton, who was in the same graduate program as Mr. Kohberger, said that he continued attending classes after the killings had occurred and seemed more animated at that time than he had been earlier in the semester.
“He seemed more upbeat and willing to carry a conversation,” Ms. Norton said in an email. She said Mr. Kohberger was interested in forensic psychology.
Ms. Norton said Mr. Kohberger’s quiet, intense demeanor had made people uncomfortable, as had comments he made against L.G.B.T.Q. people.
“He sort of creeped people out because he stared and didn’t talk much, but when he did it was very intelligent and he needed everyone to know he was smart,” Ms. Norton said"

Journalists have already spoken to his aunts through marriage. One spoke of the bizarre vegan thing that happened four years ago after a funeral. A friend who went running with him was in complete shock.
Do you think he would have continued killing if they didn’t catch him?
The house he was in is all wilderness. No doubt they’re going to look for the knife there. He’s currently on suicide watch in jail in PA. They’re saying he has a blank stare on his face.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 31, 2022 5:01 AM |
If they were in a community, they would not be antisocial. I think you are referring to young men who are alone, isolated and go online and/or become violent from reinforced feelings of anger or a shared belief that they are unwanted. It’s a very specific construct that hopefully doesn’t take over.

Dennis Rader, the BTK Killer, murdered the four members of the Otero family on a single morning for his first killing.
Also, Perry Smith and Dick Hickock murdered the four members of the Clutter family in a single night.
It's not common, but it's not unprecedented.

Interesting that his high school teacher called him a "good kid" and didn't see any sign of problems. Goes to show that teachers and school admins have no fucking idea who the bullies are. It's not like they wait until they're being observed to bully people.
I guess bullying will always be a scourge in schools. Where are you, Dan Olweus? Or does anybody even care any more? (2 ways working on this would reduce crime: fat kids like him wouldn't be bullied and build up rage -- bullies like him would be detected and something could be done -- see Olweus bullying prevention program - and surely there must be some others working on it... well probably not)
by Anonymous | reply 39 | December 31, 2022 5:33 AM |
I think there are different types of bullying, and we have no idea if he was a fat kid unfairly picked on by others around him who were basically budding little psychopaths, or if he was an odd child who just stared and behaved strangely, and other children around him had no idea how to deal with it so they fell back on being hostile to him out of unconscious fear.

We'll find out later I'm sure but I don't think that's him in the video. Like someone else said on the other thread, BK has "low ears," but the guy in the video doesn't seem to. Can't get a great look at his nose, though.
Also, his previous videos have him showing off Madonna CDs and going to Lizzo concerts and such, and BK is a huge homophobe of the 4chan type, someone who knew him said so in an interview yesterday so that's confirmed. I doubt this Josco1972 guy is BK.

This case blows my mind because how can someone even kill that many people in one go? But it's happened before. For example, this case is not well-known. Guy Heinze Jr. killed eight members of his family in one go in a trailer park by beating them to death. They were asleep too but it still makes me wonder how he could kill so many in one go.

Allegedly, this is Kohberger talking about the murders.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | December 31, 2022 2:44 PM |
Classes in Washington State University and the University of Idaho both began on August 22, 2022 this year. Kohberger graduated from his Masters Degree at DeSales in May 2022, so he must have moved to Washington sometime in the summer. There doesn't seem to be any indication so far of a prior connection to the WA/ID area.
He would have spent some time in his own university meeting professors and classmates, and preparing to teach himself as a TA, and just generally settling in. According to the article I posted at R14, he seemed to want to socialise with his classmates but was rebuffed.
The murders happened Nov. 13th.
So that's a timeframe of roughly 2 and a half months during which he could potentially have gotten to know the victims. But how likely was this? He was older and more worldly and, let's face it, probably smarter than the victims. He didn't seem to have great social skills. He doesn't seem like an obvious candidate to be invited to the frat parties. He was at a different university. Speculation that the killer was an older guy on the fringes of their social circle seemed plausible, especially if he was a contact for drugs, but did someone who only arrived in the area a few months previously have time to make the contacts/suppliers/customers necessary to end up in that situation? Then develop a murderous fixation on one of the victims?
So... perhaps he didn't know them at all? Perhaps he just fixated on them from afar. Perhaps he met one of the girls once and was blown off. Perhaps he cyberstalked them from a distance. Or perhaps he had just planned a random killing and any popular sorority girl would have done?
by Anonymous | reply 82 | December 31, 2022 3:01 PM |
So far various people from his school colleges have come forward to say they knew him, but no-one from Moscow ID has recognised him publicly so far as I know.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | December 31, 2022 3:03 PM |
I wish people would be more specific about his homophobic remarks.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | December 31, 2022 3:08 PM |
A more concerning theory I now have is that he stalked these people solely to complete his crime studies, he must have kept a journal on his progress of formulating the perfect crime hopefully the LE has it in their possession. He stalked these people like a lion on the prowl, it would be easier to understand a motive based on rejection or humiliation but this was 100% cold and calculated without emotion.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | December 31, 2022 3:13 PM |

Healey said she heard other girls tell Kohberger in their high school to "go away, creep" or "I don't want to hang out with you."
"I honestly think that's what led up to this, because he didn't get the proper help, and it was mainly females that bullied him," Healey said.
Despite the bullying, she said Kohberger's grades were always good, and he "was very into his books."
by Anonymous | reply 91 | December 31, 2022 3:36 PM |

Extreme, rapid weight loss will do that. Someone upthread mentioned meth and someone on one of the threads said this guy was vegan. Google what Jakob Dylan looks like now for an example of what diehard veganism looks like. Not an ounce of fat on the guy, which makes him look much older than he is. It's your ass or your face, as the saying goes.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | December 31, 2022 3:59 PM |
Anyway, skipping ahead a little (a lot), let's say he gets convicted and gets the death penalty. We all know it takes decades to actually carry out such a sentence. He's already enrolled in a doctoral programme and is clearly smart and fascinated by his subject. There's no reason he couldn't complete his doctorate from jail. Well, field research might pose some problems: but he could write something about the psychology of death row inmates. It'd be a rare example of someone in that position able to carry out substantial academic research. If it wasn't directly connected to his own crime (thus not leading to the possibility of writing a book which would lead him to profit from his crime) the authorities might even allow it.
Has anyone else earned a doctorate on death row?

[quote]R91 Healey said she heard other girls tell Kohberger in their high school to "go away, creep" or "I don't want to hang out with you." … "I honestly think that's what led up to this, because he didn't get the proper help, and it was mainly females that bullied him," Healey said.
Telling a creep you don’t want to hang out with him is bullying?

The vegetarian/vegan chat is really boring, just FYI.
Anyway, some interesting comments from one of Kohberger's friends from community college (source below)
"She got to know and understand him during their talks and classes where she would almost translate for him.
She explained that he was "genuinely curious" and believed that he lived a sheltered life, so he asked questions or said things to other people that they construed as being offensive.
"It wasn't meant to be offensive," she said. "It was like childlike curiosity from an adult, who you would think would know better than to ask a question, but it was such a genuine curiosity. And that's why I thought he was so sheltered, that he just had no idea about these things. And I really just don't think he knew better.""
Definitely sounds like he was on the spectrum, and apparently confirmed by the fact that he alienated classmates in Washington with what they took to be anti-gay remarks.

Posting my own damn post from another thread, onto this one. Lol!
Here goes:
So I’ve been pretty hung up on the theory that these murders happened as a result of an attempted robbery. I’ve been on that train pretty much for the last 3-4 weeks.
Why?
Because it makes very little sense to me, that someone entered that home, for the purpose of slaughtering 4 people, just because.
I also believed that it was most definitely some frat boys, or a friend of the frat boys, or even the boyfriends or friends of the two surviving roommates on the first floor.
I was obviously very wrong about whom I suspected, and in my defense, I at one time went online and wrote that I suspected the Jack S. guy. However, as the case progressed or more accurately, appeared to be stuck, I stopped theorizing on who did this, and I focused on the house, its location, the surrounding area, the backyard, the way it looks from the outside, specifically in the evenings, when lights are on, and the fact that all of the tenants in the home were young women.
The more I thought about the house, the more I kept going back to the singular idea that someone REALLY wanted something in that house, and it was NOT any of the tenants living there at the time the crime took place, nor was it Ethan, or even the adorable labradoodle.
What did someone want? Money, or something worth some money, or multiple things worth money, or a combination of all of the above.
When I first heard of this man’s arrest, & info started circulating about him, I basically doubled down, because I believe this guy was out to burglarize this home, and probably other homes, as well as attempting to rifle through cars that hadn’t been properly locked, so he could perhaps score a wallet or some cash or whatever.
So here’s my question:
Why the fuck is no one discussing the arrest warrant served with a batter-ram, and a SWAT team, on this fucker, In Pennsylvania?
READ THE WARRANT!
1) 4 counts of 1st degree murder.
2) 1 count of FELONY ROBBERY.
I’m sticking to my theory. Robbery gone bad. VERY bad, and here we are.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | December 31, 2022 4:56 PM |
R134 The article you linked states that he is being charged with felony burglary, not felony robbery. Burglary is entering a structure with the intent to commit a crime, robbery is actually taking something. Not the same thing at all.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | December 31, 2022 5:05 PM |
Yeah, there's a difference between robbery and burglary.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | December 31, 2022 5:08 PM |
It's a dumb theory anyway. No garden variety robber/burglar kills four people. What do they get out of that?
by Anonymous | reply 137 | December 31, 2022 5:08 PM |
Stabbing murders are personal and intense, someone wanting to commit theft would have brought a firearm because they have no interest in getting up close and personal with victims.
This freak went into a stabbing frenzy and cut himself in the act which means the LE have loads of 🧬 to tie him to the murders.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | December 31, 2022 5:10 PM |
Burglary, in my state, is unlawful entry into a dwelling in order to commit a crime therein. Burglary makes sense, here. Nobody gave the guy permission to enter the dwelling. He entered the dwelling with the intent to harm / kill at least one person. Ended up killing 4.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | December 31, 2022 5:11 PM |
R135, I did not know the legal distinction between the two, so thank you for pointing this out to me.
But he still went in there to take something that wasn’t his.
Unfortunately, he also ended up taking four lives.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | December 31, 2022 5:13 PM |
During the press conference, the DA said that second charge is because he unlawfully entered the house for the purpose of committing another felony (1st degree murder).
by Anonymous | reply 141 | December 31, 2022 5:14 PM |
I think social media will come into play. The girls had such a high profile social media presence.
I realize it will come off as blaming the victims, but what possible good can come from posting skimpy bikini pics on a public profile? The very best outcome is you attract the attention of douchebros. It gets worse from there.
But it might be more about the killer envying their “constant partying with 500 of my closest friends” lifestyle.
As an elder, this sounds like a nightmare. But a fellow 20-something might think this is how life is “supposed” to be.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | December 31, 2022 5:15 PM |
[quote]But he still went in there to take something that wasn’t his. Unfortunately, he also ended up taking four lives.
Big assumption of you. There is nothing to support that he wanted anything other than to kill.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | December 31, 2022 5:16 PM |
I have a feeling the cops have a shit ton of evidence that this was 100% pre-meditated. Everything we’ve learned thus far is just the tip of the iceberg.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | December 31, 2022 5:18 PM |
R142 You do know that millions of women post bikini pics and don't get killed? You say that you realize it will come off as victim blaming - that's because it is.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | December 31, 2022 5:19 PM |
This case really freaked me out in the beginning because of similarity to Gainesville murders.
Then I convinced myself the killer knew the victims and it was more of a personal revenge killing.
Now that we’re back to possible random killing, I’m very freaked out again.
I would really like to know how he “chose” his victims. If trying to do “a perfect murder” experiment, why drive his own car? I can’t get past that.
Had he been trying over time to establish a “presence” in the area so his car wouldn’t be suspicious?
How did police focus on the car in the first place?
by Anonymous | reply 146 | December 31, 2022 5:23 PM |
R146 Unfortunately some people have a sexual fetish for killing. It is what it is - it's the main reason why serial killers kill. Personal killings are mostly husbands/bfs/exes but that wasn't an issue here.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | December 31, 2022 5:28 PM |
R140 they charged felony burglary so that they can use the felony murder rule, which says that, if a death occurs while a felony is taking place, the person can be convicted of felony murder, even if not actively participating with the intent (mens rea) necessary for first degree murder. It is a backstop against losing on a premeditation charge like first degree murder and every good prosecutor likes to charge it with the rest.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | December 31, 2022 5:32 PM |
Not all jurisdictions have a felony murder law.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | December 31, 2022 5:34 PM |
[quote]Nobody has said otherwise about Twinkies (which are indeed vegan!)
My point was that without a quote, we had no idea who r115 was replying to, so I was humorously playing Rose and acting as if he/she was replying to the comment above his/hers, which is an understandable assumption when people can't be bothered to specify wtf they're talking about.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | December 31, 2022 5:36 PM |
R137, why is my theory dumb?
The guy is an alleged former junkie, who MAY have relapsed, and started popping fentanyl or doing meth or a number of different drugs.
He may have gone in there with the intent to steal something, but then Ethan and/or other people woke up.
ALLEGEDLY, there’s one tenant on the first floor, who allegedly said she heard someone rifling through the house, upstairs, but she thought it was just her roommates having a party, and she went back to sleep. I read about this alleged account of events on Reddit, however, so it could all be bullshit.
Another rumor is that there was a Narcan device in the house. If true, why?
Were drugs being dealt out of this house? Were frat boys selling fentanyl, or other drugs at this house?
Truth is, we don’t know, myself included.
That being said, knife massacres are VERY rare. If you’re going to rob a house, it makes MUCH more sense to bring a gun.
But what if he didn’t have a gun? What if he did at one time, and pawned it to cop some dope? Or what if he was such a junkie, that he couldn’t afford to purchase himself a proper gun?
He’s not absolutely brilliant, but he’s not totally stupid, either. What if he had a Kabar in his car for self defense, just in case he needed to use it when driving into seedy neighborhoods, to buy dope? Or even as a weapon when he went into decent, college towns, to buy dope?
Look, I haven’t all the answers, but I just don’t believe this guy was solely motivated to murder 4 people. Probably had the mindset that he would if he had to, but doing so, just because?
Doesn’t it make more sense that he was prowling around the area, figuring out which house to hit up? Or that maybe he had been in the house previously, for the purpose of purchasing drugs?
Sure. He absolutely can be a Ted Bundy 2.0 in the making, but he could also be an addict who was willing to go as far as he had to go, in order to get himself some drugs. And then there’s the possibility that he could be both of these things.
We’ll see how this unfolds. I’m just theorizing like everyone else, and all I know right now is what everyone who isn’t directly involved in this case knows: The name of the alleged perpetrator, his charges, where he lived, attended school, that he was getting his Ph.D. at WSU, he drove a white Elantra, what he looks like, and that he’s currently in a jail cell, waiting to be extradited back to ID.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | December 31, 2022 5:37 PM |
Bad information here.
Robbery is theft from a person by force or threat of force. Burglary is illegal entry into a premises with intent to commit a crime.

Stand and deliver!
by Anonymous | reply 153 | December 31, 2022 5:38 PM |
R152 Because a burglar/robber would just run, get the hell out. Why the fuck actually kill 4 people? That's insane. Even a burglar/robber would understand the lifetime implications of that. They would be in prison for life. If they just ran, they'd get a lesser sentence.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | December 31, 2022 5:41 PM |
R151, no way. I do not believe someone functioning at his level would kill four people for drugs. He knew how to score drugs, give me a break. No way. Also, if he was that savage to get a fix, then how could he magically seem to normal after the killing, able to converse with others about this crime? If it did it to get a fix, he would have had a psychotic break after the murders IMHO.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | December 31, 2022 5:41 PM |
Maybe they blinded the burglar and he had to slash his way out of the house and all the way back to the Poconos.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | December 31, 2022 5:42 PM |
From Brian Entin:
“The public defender in Monroe County, PA says Bryan Kohberger is “eager to be exonerated of these charges and looks forward to resolving these matters as promptly as possible.
Says Kohberger intends to waive his extradition hearing to expedite his transport to Idaho.”
by Anonymous | reply 157 | December 31, 2022 5:44 PM |
R143, and I can say the same thing back to you as well, right?
Are you assigned to this case? Do you know something I don’t know?
Because, guess what? There’s also a good possibility that he may have gone in there for the purpose of committing a robbery, while understanding that he would kill, if he got interrupted.
Could be two things at once. As a matter of fact, people get killed all the time if they wake up during a robbery, or walk in on the robber(s), when getting home from work, the store, a vacation, etc., etc.
I’m just playing the odds here. Robberies that end up with felony murder charges are WAY more common than some psychotic POS, taking out 4 people, all within minutes.
Just my opinion.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | December 31, 2022 5:45 PM |
No one is saying “you post bikini pics, you get murdered.” How simple minded.
But what possible upside does posting these pics have? And a lot of possible downsides that don’t involve murder.
Effects on potential job searches, for one. Sorry, I’d never hire anyone (male or female) who has a slew of risqué photos listed on social media.

by Anonymous | reply 160 | December 31, 2022 5:48 PM |
Again—theft is only robbery if the thief takes something by force from a person. If the killer entered the house intending to steal something, he is a burglar, not a robber.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | December 31, 2022 5:50 PM |
r134, the robbery theory isn't one to double down on. These were broke college kids who didn't have much money or things of monetary value. The most valuable things they had were youth and relative good looks.
Now that we know Bryan Kohberger, we understand he had a fixation on violent crime, not being a cat burglar. We know he was bullied by pretty female classmates and didn't have much of a social life. Do you see it?

by Anonymous | reply 166 | December 31, 2022 5:56 PM |
R164 And it won't get anywhere. Aside from a minority of moralizing judgemental ancient dinosaurs like you, modern society will largely see this as a crime committed by the perpetrator for his own sick reasons against four innocent people who did not do anything wrong.
Sorry for your loss.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | December 31, 2022 5:56 PM |
R162, thank you for your insight.
Hey. I’m not a burglar or a spree killer or mass murder killer or serial killer.
I recognize that the majority of people, with myself included, do not have the ability to make sense of the thought processes and actions of psychopaths. I don’t work in law enforcement, nor have I been trained as a profiler after getting a psychology degree, because I do not have a psychology degree.
So yes. I understand that my thinking on this is biased, and quite limited. And I also understand that I DO wish that this had been a robbery gone bad, because it’s really fucked to know that someone would do this, just for the thrill and the fuck of it.
RIP once again to these poor young people who are now gone, regardless of motive, and I’m am absolutely pleased that this fucking POS has been taken off the streets.

I’ve posted this before, but MANY years ago there was a known older guy creeper on our college campus. All the girls knew who he was . He had creeped on all of us. He was slightly older and seemed to be a “sometime” student.
He asked me out once and I said “oh, I’m going out of town this weekend.”
That weekend, he apparently followed me and my friends to the campus pool and confronted me about “lying” to him about going out of town.
I gave some lame excuse about changed plans, and he seemed to accept that.
I often wonder if my “you must spare a man’s feelings at all costs” social conditioning saved my life.
Nowadays, a young woman would (rightly) just tell the guy to go fuck himself.
The guy disappeared shortly after that. He drove a very distinctive car, and seemed to be everywhere all the time.
Then, he was just gone.

You mean the guy on 4chan who posted the bullshit about the Frat boys conspiring to keep Kaylee and Maddie from going to the police about a hazing murder earlier that year? I LIKE that theory!
Okay, there's a good possibility that BK posted on 4chan, telling his dirtbag peers that he was hiding in "shithole Pennsylvania" etc. So if he was on 4chan, why shouldn't he have amused himself by trying to manipulate the online discussion, and get the frat boys he hated in trouble with the law and/or internet wackjobs? Because back when some fools were taking the "frat-based conspiracy" idea seriously, I was both mocking the idea and pointing out that the incels and autists of 4chan HATE HATE HATE frat boys, enough to believe any negative bullshit about them. So really, why shouldn't BK both protect himself and get in some digs at people he hated, by starting a false trail, at a site he seemed to have used?

[quote]Another classmate, Sarah Healey, told Fox that Kohberger was bullied by high school girls, who would even throw things at him. “It was bad,” Healey said. “There was definitely something off about him, like we couldn’t tell exactly what it was. Healey said that treatment might have been a motivating factor for Kohberger “I honestly think that’s what led up to this, because he didn’t get the proper help, and it was mainly females that bullied him,” Healey said...Dominique Clark, who attended elementary and high school with Kohberger, told The Post... at a brewery owned by John Serulneck in PA: Kohberger would ask women — staff or customers — who they were at the brewery with, and where they lived, Serulneck said. If the women weren’t interested, “he would get upset with them a little bit.” In one instance, Seruneck recalled he called an employee a “bitch” when she declined to answer his questions. Serulneck said he was forced to confront Kohberger during his final visit to the brewery. “I went up to him and I said, ‘Hey Bryan, welcome back. We appreciate you coming back. … I just wanted to talk to you real quick and make sure that you’re going to be respectful this time and we’re not going to have any issues,’” Serulneck said he told the alleged murderer, who was stunned. “He was shocked that I was saying that, and he said, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about. You totally have me confused.’” Kohberger stayed for just one beer and then he never returned, Serulneck said. The interactions happened months ago

I screwed up the Dominique Clark quote from the post: Clark described Kohberger as very bright, but odd — especially around girls. “If he liked or was interested in a girl and she wasn’t, he didn’t understand why or just didn’t accept her saying no and move on and so he would have been labeled as a creep or something along those lines,” said Clark, now a critical care nurse who lives in Breinigsville, Pa. “He hung out with the people who were outcasts together. He tried to hang out with people who were smart,” she continued. “He just didn’t really fit in with anybody.”

The Times of Israel:
Ben Roberts, a graduate student in the criminology and criminal justice department at WSU, described Kohberger as confident and outgoing, but said it seemed like “he was always looking for a way to fit in.”
“I had honestly just pegged him as being super awkward,” Roberts said.
Roberts started the program in August — along with Kohberger, he said — and had several courses with him. He described Kohberger as wanting to appear academic.
“One thing he would always do, almost without fail, was find the most complicated way to explain something,” he said. “He had to make sure you knew that he knew it.”

Murder can only be charged in federal court under very limited circumstances such as killing a federal official, killing during a bank robbery, killing on federal property (e.g. national park or Indian reservation) or killing at sea.
by Anonymous | reply 280 | January 1, 2023 8:48 AM |
But he did travel across a state line (Washington to Idaho) to commit the crime. If he knows about the execution moratorium, maybe that's why he went to Idaho to kill instead of staying in his own town.

Once he is arraigned, we will know more about the charges and some of the evidence. If he is the right guy, then it seems pretty obvious that he was damaged by women somehow and he stalked these girls while studying both how to do it and how to feel about it. He has a superiority complex and he's enjoyed playing with the police. Now, he will enjoy the spectacle and the notoriety. If they have the right guy.

I hadn't seen the bit about the dad driving him home. The cops picked up the Elantra in Pennsylvania - so did his dad fly out to Washington, get picked up at the airport by Bryan, and then the dad drove him all that way? He's 28 years old. What excuse would there have been for his dad going to all that effort?
And if Bryan was trying to dodge police, they would still be driving in the same car that was being tracked... how would it make any difference if his dad happened to be in the car with him?
by Anonymous | reply 293 | January 1, 2023 2:18 PM |
Oh now I remember some details on the dad. Other people in the family (the dad's and or the mom's) thought Bryan's dad was a weirdo - lots of arguments and estrangements due to him. Also, he's had two bankruptsies (personality disordered people often have them - and experts think narcissism/antisocial PDs are 50% genetic). The mom seems narcissistic in publishing her daughter's dumb poem in the local newspaper lol. But obsession with mass murder too? I bet she's really been obsessed with this one!

Oh, and maybe Bryan wanted his dad in that Elantra with him so the police wouldn't shoot into the car to try to stop him in a chase ??? God I'm sounding like a websleuther but I'm just shocked by how the end of this case unfolded. The dad flying out to come home with him sort of blows my mind. Dad had to know or suspect, right? Much easier to send money to Bryan so he could stop at hotels to break the long trip up into segments, if getting tired on the long drive was the issue.
Also I liked this little news clip about the case being wrapped up - a psychologist or something talking about Bryan - the police chief of Moscow crying while being interviewed, etc.

the police can subpoena DNA from a private database (like 23andme/ancestry) OR they can confiscate items that are in a public place that are likely to have DNA from the POI or a relative. For example - the police could follow Bryan, wait for him to throw away a can of soda in a public trashcan, and retrieve that can to test it. There was one case where the police had a suspects boss at work watch out for that for months and he eventually threw away a water bottle. She ran with it to the police immediately and he was arrested soon afterwards. As far as I know this is legal in all 50 states.
by Anonymous | reply 318 | January 1, 2023 5:02 PM |
R318 is correct about possible DNA sources and matches. This case feels like TrueCrimeTV 101. If the suspect wasn’t a criminology student, I’d say true crime obsessive. But the car thing doesn’t make sense. If this is the car he used to drive to the crime scene it will be a treasure trove of evidence, and it would seem he’d have to know that.
Curious if they’ll get a confession out of him. Locating the murder weapon would be useful, but he might’ve dumped that anywhere in the country.
by Anonymous | reply 319 | January 1, 2023 5:11 PM |

A criminology Ph.D. would know about the cops picking up DNA and wouldn't be likely to throw away a can or anything. You know - Dad could have sent Bryan the money to fly home and he could have left his Elantra at his WSU apartment. Dad's probably old and that's a long-ass trip. But... if the car could have been searched by the cops and they could have got his DNA that way.
Sorry to obsess about this... Sheesh. But soon it'll be over and we'll be off on our next American mass murder.

by Anonymous | reply 328 | January 1, 2023 5:52 PM |
I think the car is the key. If he drove it anywhere near the scene, even without his phone, the car's Bluetooth would be sending a link signal to any wireless network in range. From there it's logged with the b/t mac address; game over.
Surely he was planning to trade it when he got it back to Pa.. Maybe that's the reason his father flew out to drive with him. That car wasn't coming back.
by Anonymous | reply 329 | January 1, 2023 5:55 PM |
If he was selling the car in PA he didn’t need a passenger for that. He would have to fly back alone anyway, assuming he ever was planning to come back.

Unknown DNA found in Idaho during the course of the investigation was taken through a DNA public database to find potential matches....

by Anonymous | reply 331 | January 1, 2023 6:02 PM |
I would be shocked if the knife is recovered, as he could have dumped it anywhere between Washington State and Pennsylvania. There’s always a chance he kept it as a souvenir. Who knows?
Allegedly they have cell phone records that prove he was stalking the victims for weeks before the murders.
by Anonymous | reply 332 | January 1, 2023 6:02 PM |
Doesn't sound like this guy would have been dating anyone who lived in the murder house - nor would he have hung around with the much younger frat crowd (and therefore been Ethan's friend - or at a party in the house)
So why would his DNA have been there if he weren't the killer? I think an Idaho jury is gonna find him guilty, even if there's no murder weapon and the case isn't the world's best. This case will have hit most Idahoans, if that's a word, pretty hard. Even if they moved the trial to Boise.
by Anonymous | reply 333 | January 1, 2023 6:06 PM |
They'll have more - we aren't getting what's in the PCA for a few more days. The PCA will basically be the minimum evidence required to get a warrant. That means it is highly plausible that prosecutors had more evidence than will be described in that document pre-arrest. It's also typical that much of the evidence in a trial comes post-arrest, after extensive searching of his home and personals. What we're talking about isn't even the PCA, let alone the full scope of evidence law enforcement/prosecution had before Bryan was arrested, and definitely not anything collected or discovered after the fact. There's really no use in speculating about what kind of evidence will come to trial right now.

R310 There are so many examples of the savagery of human beings and yet there are so many out there that just refuse to believe it. I don’t get that. Makes me wonder what else these people refuse to believe. Their coping skills are to put on blinders. The very definition of a ‘fool’.
Bundy’s mother maintained her belief in his innocence. I guess it’s just so hard to believe that your son is a brutal murderer or maybe she thought to admit she believed it would make him feel she thought less of him or maybe she wanted to support his lies in the hopes he’d get off. But to remain staunchly believing in someone’s guilt with obvious evidence to the contrary is to let yourself be lied to in order to feel better about your comfort in something other than the facts. Ann Rule did that and when confronted with the truth in court about Ted’s guilt ran down the hall to the court bathroom and threw up.
I think BK took up all these classes on crime knowing he was going to murder and figured he’d bone up first to prevent getting caught.
by Anonymous | reply 336 | January 1, 2023 6:25 PM |
I don't know how anyone thinks they can get away with murder, especially this type of murder.
I can kind of understand pushing someone of a cliff in a remote area and saying they tripped and fell.
Of course, super rich and powerful people can cause death and get away with it. But he was an average Joe working on a Ph.D.
He wasn't nearly as smart as he thought he was.

Are they really going to to go there with insinuating it must've been "bullying in HS"? FFS, he's 28 not 18. At almost 30, that's a ridiculous excuse for brutal murders a decade later. Probably gave off negative vibes around the opposite sex no matter his environment. While overweight guys in HS don't tend to be popular, usually they're just ignored by girls. Anecdotally, but the guys I've known that significantly dropped weight, ended up having the opposite of what's theorized with this guy -- they became overly cocky vs making the chip on their shoulder larger (like this guy may have).
R336: "I think BK took up all these classes on crime knowing he was going to murder and figured he’d bone up first to prevent getting caught.". Good theory, esp since he's *older*, at least for an on campus, out of state, college student. Can't imagine this wasn't brewing in him already and could see him thinking he's slick by that taking up.
by Anonymous | reply 339 | January 1, 2023 7:17 PM |
R142 ⬆️ and that's why it's frowned on to blame posting on social media -- nah, this guy was going to find his victims, just like past killers did (Like Bundy when there wasn't SM), regardless of what the victims do/ don't do. Did it make it easier to stalk them? Very likely, but past killers found ways to stalk too. That's why there's a push to remind others to not "blame the victim" -- for one, they were already victimized, what's the good of pointing out what they *should've* done? And for 2, esp in cases like this, it's nothing more than being in the wrong place, at the wrong time, through no fault of your own. If it wasn't them, he would've picked out another one, at random, to target. There's probably a dozen other blondes, going to that school, posting on social media, having no idea how close they were to being chosen by this nutter.
by Anonymous | reply 340 | January 1, 2023 7:20 PM |
R339 The point would be that social rejection continued, he only became more bitter from that point onward because his experiences never changed. I don't think anyone meant to say that it's all about the memories of highschool.
by Anonymous | reply 341 | January 1, 2023 7:21 PM |
R341 I guess, but what I find frustrating, is to keep hearing this about killers because it comes across as everyone else always being the problem. If "social rejection" kept happening to this guy, everywhere he went, no matter his age, or setting, the problem is him. Tons of people that were bullied in HS don't continue to deal with that into adulthood. Life usually improves. You're no longer stuck in a small town/ school system, with teens (not known for their empathy skills), esp having the opportunity to go to college, where many bullied people find they finally find where they belong (because colleges tend to have diversity).
I didn't have an easy time in school. I know it can leave scars. However; I also know it gets better once you're not obligated to be in that environment anymore. This guy had a decade to figure it out and find ways to socially improve. That's another thing -- they blamed his weight, "he was bullied because he was fat", right? But sounds like he got thin while he was still attending HS -- meaning these poor interactions weren't just the result of just him being overweight.

It's difficult to compare the current era with Ted Bundy's active trolling years. "Stranger Danger" wasn't a thing then and often sex crimes were hushed up and only spoken about in whispers. Girls growing up in the 50s, 60s and to some extent even 70s were taught to be agreeable and helpful. Those poor girls who helped Ted with his books and his "boat" were victims of their social conditioning.

I was convinced the killer did NOT drive the Elantra, because even a criminal of average intelligence would be aware of all the cameras and partying college students in the vicinity. I thought he must have (A) lived nearby, or (B) parked somewhere else, fleeing on foot out of camera range. A white Elantra, no less. It shines like a beacon in the body cam footage. It’s no wonder the fool also left his DNA at the crime scene.

by Anonymous | reply 347 | January 1, 2023 8:00 PM |
R343 true, but not all of them. He also broke right in and brutally murdered some of them, which "stranger danger" wouldn't prevent. Doubtful he would've gave up on his murder sprees if victims weren't like that, it just made it easier, which is why it rarely helps to point out a victim's behavior. I mean even look at this case, where right away we're already seeing "he was mistreated by girls" -- you can't win -- murdered for being socially conditioned to be nice to creeps, murdered for not being nice to creeps. Yeah, predators definitely seem to like to take the path of least resistance, but that's not unlike the molester becoming a priest; they're going to take advantage of opportunities, but won't give up on finding victims just because of facing a few more obstacles.
On a side note; this case is esp scary because it was theorized we'd see a revival of serial killers soon. Something about how our current environment has the right recipe for creating them. That theory was thrown around back in 2018, supposedly to happen by 2030, but maybe it'll be sooner than that.

R348 I didn’t say that was the MO for all of Bundy’s victims. Bundy accessed the sorority house because the back door was left open.

R356 Exactly. If you murder fringe people like prostitutes and addicts and you do it out in the elements, you can pretty much get away with it more easily. But going to someone's fucking house in your own car and stabbing them is sure to leave something behind. I'm sure you could murder street people at a high volume in different ways before anyone would even know they were actually murdered. Dipshit here purposely killed a lot of people in a gruesome way, at their own contained residence annd drove to do it. I'm glad that's how it panned out cause if he'd been a cop and killed people on his beat that were homeless, he could have gone on for a long time.

"If he is the right guy, then it seems pretty obvious that he was damaged by women somehow and he stalked these girls"
No, if his relationships with women damaged him, it was not because women mistreated him, but because his expectations were so unrealistic that encounters with real women left him angry and frustrated.
That's what I hear from young straight men with poor social skills, when they're able to anonymously discuss their feelings - they're continually frustrated by their encounters with young women, because those encounters never go the way the men expect. They expect to go through certain steps, such as buying drinks and delivering compliments, and to have the women respond by having sex, and not only does it never go that way... lots of women don't even want to go through the courtship rituals they've learned. So they feel terribly frustrated, one said he felt like his ability to look for love "... is being taken away", and some are very angry at life and at women, even though the women have done nothing but fail to live up to unrealistic expectations.
But they refuse to change their expectations, to forget what they learned from fiction or pron, and to base their expectations on observations of real life. I don't understand this failure to change expectations, maybe it's a lack of emotional intelligence, maybe it's sheer entitlement, maybe it's to do with the autism spectrum, I just don't know. But I see it in young straight men, and descriptions of BK's interactions with women sure sound like the same deal.

The murder weapon is probably buried in a random patch of wild ground, somewhere near Moscow, Idaho. Of course he could have ditched it in any of 10 states as his dad drove him home, but he didn't go home until some time had passed since the murders.
A criminology major would be very aware of how hard it is to find a small object in a random spot that had no known association with him. I mean if I wanted to hide a small murder weapon I'd just do what I normally do, go hiking and occasionally wander off trail like I normally do, and there would be no way to tell from my cell phone tracking whether I was birding the way I usually do or burying a murder weapon. Hell, if I had to bury a small object I might even take the trouble to follow an Ebird alert, be seen birding away by other honest birders, and take a moment to bury the small thing.

If they have him dead to rights, if they found his car at the murder scene and his DNA under a victim's fingernails, and have proof of him stalking the girls all over town, he may try to fight it... or he may accept a plea deal, and plead guilty to avoid the death penalty.
Of course he'll want to fight for his freedom, and to maintain his belief that he's smarter than all the cops in the world, but his desire to be a big shot in the field of criminology will also cause some mixed feelings. He will really want to share his insight into the minds of killers with people who can really appreciate it, and will make some attempt to publish in the field of criminology from his prison cell...

This guy is very arrogant. There is talk he committed the crime because he wanted to show how brilliant he is, did it to show he can get away with the perfect murder. If that is so, (and one of his friends said he always had to show how smart he is) it might be, then he might not bother to hide the murder weapon. Could've wiped it off, put it in his bureau and admire it as a trophy like a gun with notches for his kills. Who knows. He may have even thought of using the same weapon again.
But if he's claiming he's innocent why then did the cops put him in a suicide vest right off? I don't know if it's standard procedure to do that all the time in a case of this nature. Is it? Or did he, prior to a lawyer shutting him up, make statements the night he was arrested that made them think, 'heck this guys gonna try and off himself he knows we've got him now'.
I'd love to know the answer to that one.
Btw, in the sixties we were all admonished by usually our mother to watch out for strangers. Very common. We all were aware of that guy who might lure you with candy, that didn't seem right, who hung around kids and if you look up the term 'stranger danger' it says it originated in 1963.

Does anyone here think he might have been posting here, in the prior threads? One of his childhood pals (a female, on TikTok) who has been posting about him, said today she believed that podcast caller audio that's been making the viral rounds IS him, said it sounds just like him. In it, the caller was blaming the Sig Chi brothers, or trying to deflect interest towards them. We had posters doing that here.

Yeah, there was one 4Channer who was trying to push the frat conspiracy idea, and if that was BK then I'm proud to have debunked the frat theory and to have insulted the poster and 4chan into the bargain! Especially since the poster was obviously hurt by the debunking, he was angry that we didn't all fall in line with the stupid idea and praise him and 4chan.
But it's highly unlikely to have been BK, as there are so many nutters on 4chan who'll believe any fool idea about frat boys. If someone is interested in whether that really was BK, I invite them to trolldar/ignoredar that guy, and see if he's been active since BK was arrested.

R392 I am the person who posted that "Stranger Danger" was not discussed in schools much in the 60s and 70s. Sure, our mothers told us not to talk to strangers as mothers always have told their children. I don't know where you grew up but in the US there really wasn't a push and concerted effort to educate children regarding predators until Adam Walsh was kidnapped and murdered. I never heard the term "Stranger Danger" until the 90s - that doesn't mean it wasn't ever used, just that it wasn't a household term.

[quote]I won't be shocked if they dig up a childhood history of doing weird shit to animals or something, way before the bullying happened.
The suspect is a vegan. He won’t even eat food out of cookware that’s been “tainted” by meat. Murphy the dog was oddly left alive and place in a separate room. Even though the killer has prowess with a hunting knife, I wonder if, while he hates people, he has a soft spot for animals.
by Anonymous | reply 438 | January 2, 2023 2:30 AM |
And thus, r1, to the suspect murder was a piece of cake!
by Anonymous | reply 439 | January 2, 2023 2:37 AM |
Maybe he's a vegan. Don't we just have one account by an aunt who said he even wanted any pan that had had meat in it to be discarded? That may have been a passing adolescent phase, with hormonal fury and a fleeting idea that veganism would make him slim and happy - quickly to be abandoned because it's fucking hard to be a vegan.
But maybe he kept it up - who knows. Not really relevant to the crime. Although... may explain not killing Murphy? Actually, I think he wanted to kill that girl -- and taking time to mess with the dog might trip him up and get him caught, when that wasn't his goal.

R451 Someone called in saying that had inside information from someone and couldn't say who - but they (maybe it's Bryan?) describe the crime. Quickly say the perp finished off the guy and girl and then goes upstairs and he talks about victim 1 and victim 2 (Kaylee and Maddie) as if the other two don't even count. He said 'they' killed the first one, and te second one awoke and tried to get away - they had to grab her and she screamed very loudly. So they had to stab her more viciously to get her to shut up, being afraid he'd be caught...
He actually says that's why he didn't kill the other two girls -- because that second victim (who was really the fourth victim) screamed.
Whether or not it's him, it's eerie. Shaky voice but kind of excited to tell about the details. Anyway, it's pretty short and here's the link

I'm 447 and sorry if it sounded like I was disapproving of her very short shorts. I was just describing the video and that jumped out at me - the way people said Kaylee had a tight polyester dress when she talked to the cop in that other video. It's perfectly fine and expected in early September - it gets very hot there. So anyway, carry on... But I'm sorry if I upset anyone.
The way girls dress has nothing to do with crime. If perps get off on boobs, legs, men's abs and butt -- they can watch them all day long on porn videos or go to the beach or watch beach volleyball with bikinis - and all this was possible long before Instagram and girls wore even shorter skirts in the 60s and 70s yada yada.

[quote]How would an investigator on the case know that a particular victim screamed?
A lot of people were making bold pronouncements about what happened and who the murderer was when they had no real information whatsoever. It's highly likely that some people made those kinds of pronouncements in the hope that people would think they had committed the crime.
From what we know, it sounds like Kaylee was in bed, so the detail about having to chase her around doesn't seem likely to be true. We'll eventually find out one way or another, but based on what this guy said, I'm not convinced it was really the killer.
by Anonymous | reply 487 | January 2, 2023 1:14 PM |
I'm not convinced he's the killer. I want to know more about the DNA evidence. So far the information about him describes a socially awkward asshole. Not necessarily someone who rage killed 4 people. He doesn't have a history of violence. Being creepy and staring don't add up to mass knife killer.

Fighting extradition without some extraordinary reason or a bought off court is a waste of time. State to state rendition is always granted and just makes the defendant look that much more guilty.

R493 It's not weird to wonder why he had a suicide vest on. If he were innocent and made statements about wanting to kill himself might be an expression coming from someone who was guilty. An innocent person would get a lawyer. In fact the weird thing would be not to question why someone has a suicide vest on. Why would you consider anyone who is asking a question weird, anyway. Questions are what get answers.

I don't want him to commit suicide. I want him to sit in a courtroom and see all the evidence collected, to realize how sloppy he was and how incredibly stupid this makes him given his educational background, and I'd also like for the families to be able to confront him and share what this has done to their lives....even if he lacks the capacity to care or understand.
One of the most frustrating things about the Brian Launderie/Gabby Petito case was that he offed himself before police located him and held him accountable. Suicide is way easier than facing the music so I have no doubt this guy would love to slip through that trap door. Personally, I think he deserves to live with this.

I believe her. I also believe he’s setting up an insanity defense.
by Anonymous | reply 523 | January 2, 2023 9:40 PM |
Assuming this testimony from a fellow inmate is all true, I doubt his lawyer is thrilled. Threatening to cut up into pieces anyone who dares to come into his cell isn’t exactly winning the case. Although maybe his lawyer is thrilled because they can argue insanity.
by Anonymous | reply 524 | January 2, 2023 9:41 PM |
Funny. A guard says he's been facing the wall and not talking.
by Anonymous | reply 525 | January 2, 2023 9:42 PM |
Yeah, so… did the reporters wait outside the jail asking anyone who came out if they saw or heard from this inmate? She could just say anything. It’s probably somewhat true, but who knows.

We were so close to size verification!
by Anonymous | reply 527 | January 2, 2023 9:44 PM |
If it turns out he didn’t work alone, which is still a real possibility, arguing insanity will be much more difficult.
by Anonymous | reply 528 | January 2, 2023 9:46 PM |
You guys believe that some woman in jail for domestic violence remembered the specific lyrics he rapped? Come on. She's a junkie looking for some $$ from the Fail.
The guard says he's been withdrawn and quiet, I'll believe him over some random woman who looks like a junkie.
by Anonymous | reply 529 | January 2, 2023 9:49 PM |

How was he lifting his shirt and trying to expose himself if he was wearing a jumpsuit.
Also, Idaho doesn't allow an insanity plea.

The Fail also did a story about the psycho nurse who crashed into a family while speeding in her car. They quoted a random crack whore (interviewed by the local news in L.A.) who gave them an elaborate story about the nurse being drunk and fighting with her boyfriend right before the crash. None of it was true.

"I don't want him to commit suicide. I want him to sit in a courtroom and see all the evidence collected, to realize how sloppy he was and how incredibly stupid this makes him"
I doubt he's capable of remorse, but he's undoubtedly capable of humiliation, and if the local cops and FBI outfox Mr. Criminology Genius and get a conviction, then he's going to feel incredibly humiliated.
I hope it completely destroys his self-esteem and his psyche will be shattered if he's convicted, but he's far more likely to take up prison famewhoring than to implode. He seems capable of deciding that the world needs to benefit from his unique perspective as a criminologist criminal, and he'll try to become a real-life Hannibal Lechter, being studied by criminologists and having FBI agents ask him about other killers, but trying to be interviewed by the mainstream press. It'll be the only way he'll be able to salvage his self-image.
by Anonymous | reply 541 | January 2, 2023 11:17 PM |
R541- Agreed. He's much more useful to society humiliated and psychologically broken. As many armchair alpha incels as possible should see him get cocky, and then disintegrate in court while being grilled by men and women with actual strategic intelligence. It's a light form of deradicalization.
by Anonymous | reply 542 | January 2, 2023 11:35 PM |
He's never going to have feelings of remorse or humiliation. Any remorse would come from how the crimes affected *his* life, not the 4 Idahoans.
I already decided that if I had to show up to court for someone's sentencing, I'd address the judge, only, and ask for the harshest sentence possible. No sense to try to look a killer in the eye and hope to see remorse.
by Anonymous | reply 543 | January 2, 2023 11:47 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 547 | January 3, 2023 1:49 AM |
It would be nice if we kept certain terrible criminals alive just to be tortured and experimented on. No need for animal testing if you have some psychopath you can test on.
by Anonymous | reply 548 | January 3, 2023 1:51 AM |
What I wish families would stop doing (I know, they are grieving) is listing the life events the victim will now miss. The killer doesn’t give a shit that his victim won’t get married and have a baby.
If this happened to me, I would just say, “How COULD you?!” That sentence is more painful to me than any other. But then again, I’m capable of shame, guilt, and remorse…
by Anonymous | reply 549 | January 3, 2023 1:57 AM |
R549 Sometimes I think old barbaric ways make sense. If someone is going to get the death penalty, let the family of the victim stone them to death. I know we can't really be that way but it plays well to my imagination.

by Anonymous | reply 551 | January 3, 2023 2:05 AM |
R548 So we should model our behaviour on that of the killer, who also experimented on and tortured his victims? I see.
by Anonymous | reply 552 | January 3, 2023 2:09 AM |
r458 Thanks for posting that audio. It rings true to me that the person is what/who he claims to be on that recording; i.e., someone (a relative of an investigator) who was told these things by someone in the investigation.
He does have specific details about the time that a scream was recorded at exactly 3:38am on a Ring camera (I guess), which correlated with their theory that one victim woke up, screamed and unsuccessfully tried to get away. That's why investigators place the time of the attack so specifically. There's more about the placement of the bodies, too.
Also, he says the white car was seen speeding by a gas station at 3:45am.
It's well a worth a listen for the details, which sound very spot on.
by Anonymous | reply 553 | January 3, 2023 2:10 AM |
So he was pulled over at least twice while with his dad and maybe once alone? It's fascinating to me watching cop videos and the person with a pound of weed is speeding and has no license plate, etc. If I had used my own car in a mass murder, I would drive so carefully.
by Anonymous | reply 554 | January 3, 2023 2:26 AM |
What matters most on the issue of incarceration is justice. We can’t talk about justice for the offender without also discussing justice for these families.
I am anti-death penalty because it seems barbaric. Life without parole is better, but even that I not 100% kosher with. We need to get serious about rehabilitation/recovery, many many many people would rightly be at free (non-violent offenders, first timers, blahblahblah. We could invest in more mental health and REAL vocational opportunities for the men and women, driving costs down to house them. Just look at Europe. Or Canada. Or California.

I would have suspected one of the neighbors. It seems like the police came to the house regularly due to noise complaints. It's not like they lived in an apartment or townhouse; it was a single family home, so the music must have been obnoxiously loud. That will drive you crazy after a while. There was probably a flow of cars to and from the house too. (And lately, it's popular for young people to modify their cars to make them as loud as possible.)
The neighbors are probably enjoying the peace.

Head public defender from Pennsylvania blabbed about his discussion with BK. I realize this is a heinous crime, but defense attorneys should STFU.
(PD said that he talked with BK for an hour, talked about some GPS evidence that BK was in Idaho at X time.)
Jodi Arias' attorney blabbed and wrote a book, but she had made allegations against him, first.

They're always derailing these threads, r574. They imagine everyone on here is beside themselves in anger because they brought up the PA murders.
As to the topic at hand, I'm not sure that the Pennsylvania DA's comments about BK were all that out of line. I would be shocked if anything comes of it. BK probably has a decent tort case against him for violating attorney-client privilege but I doubt it's going to be a real issue when it comes to the criminal case.
by Anonymous | reply 588 | January 4, 2023 3:48 AM |

As a poster mentioned before (not sure if in this long thread), the BTK serial killer's daughter (whose DNA from a hospital was used to match BTK to the crime scenes) said in an interview that he (BK) might have contacted BTK. She said a lot of criminology students and true crime aficionados contact him, and he often writes back to them or talks on the phone to them.
One reason BTK's daughter thinks BK might have contacted her father (she doesn't know if he did), was that Kohberger took criminology classes with Dr. Katherine Ramsland, who wrote a book about BTK after corresponding with him for a decade.
I wonder if BK might have corresponded with other serial killers in prison, like the Green River Killer, who killed dozens of women in Washington and Oregon, and is now imprisoned in Washington State.
Total speculation, but BK might have been trying to do what they did; i.e., commit unsolved serial murders over many years, and maybe even teach classes or write books about whatever name he would have as a serial killer. He bizarrely might have wanted to be a famous but uncaught serial killer that would terrorize and mesmerize the public. He might have wanted to go down in history as an infamous killer like 'Jack The Ripper.'
