It’s a weird scene and if they’re millennials they need to grow up and become adults and stop chasing trends like teenagers.

Are these also the "crunchy" people who grow their own organic food on their property and decorate their home in all white and beige? And they won't have televisions in their homes. But they do have smartphones so that they can constantly post photos on social media, where they strive to stand out among the other "influencers".

There is nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home mom, but I hope they support their daughter's education. (They probably home school their kids.) I hope that they teach their daughters (and sons) that women can choose a career, or motherhood, or both, and they should not be shamed for which ever they choose.

I feel like this is big in the military and yes I'm talking among millenials, young millenials might even be considered post millenial. Of course there all white. All the men of color and Latin men have wives who work.

Being a stay at home mom was not just an upper middle class thing. In the 50s even lower middle class women could be supported on their husbands modest salaries. Only poor or single women had to work. That completely changed with the demise of unions. Strong unions were the reason blue collar workers made decent money. Also most women were not victims of spousal rape and abuse. Boredom and lack of autonomy pushed women w/o children into the workforce but it was declining wages that pushed a lot of mothers out.

My maternal grandmother came from several generations of highly educated women. The family owned a newspaper, so many of the women's career's revolved around editing, advertising, or some other way of supporting the newspaper. My grandmother didn't want to go to college; she only wanted to get married and have kids. Her parents forced her to go and try it out anyway. My grandmother dropped out during her first year to find a. husband and make babies. Eventually she succeeded. A few years after having her fourth kid, she said "nope", and she started her own business. She hired a maid to clean her house and take care of the four kids.

My paternal grandmother came from a poor family. She quit school after middle school to work as a maid/cook for rich people. After getting married and having kids, she worked as a waitress in diners because the hours were flexible. After half of her kids had moved out, she moved back to the country side to take a position as a maid and cook for a rich woman. Even if she had the luxury, I don't think she would have wanted to stay home in a house full of kids, especially after growing up as the oldest sister in a family of 17 kids.

Women were not "housewives" for centuries. You think farms could only work with one set of hands?
