The best album by Hole?

I can't choose, but I know the answer is not "Nobody's Daughter", despite what Courtney Love was saying at the time it was released. I really love the frenetic and violent sound of "Pretty on the Inside" and revisit that one more than their others because I find it an extremely fascinating, strange record. "Live Through This" is an indisputable masterpiece that actually has melodies, and I do appreciate the polished but rotten-underneath sound of "Celebrity Skin".

It’s obviously Live Through This. Come on.

In the end both LTT and CS are classics but saying that either of them is a Hole album is questionable.

If you believe that Love wrote Live Through This, then that is Hole’s best album. It could, however, be one of Nirvana’s best with guest singers and musicians. Tough to say.

There’s a similar issue with Celebrity Skin. Corgan is on record saying that he all but forced Love into the studio and you need only look at how many writers are credited on each song to begin to wonder whose product this is. It reminds me of another classic album, Spears’ Blackout. Spears was a featured artist on her own album.

Many also don’t accept ND as a Hole album, since the only member of the original lineup who performed was Love. Also the album was terrible so it’ll never be a competitor to LTT or CS.

Complicated to evaluate this band’s discography…

Jesus Christ, R2.

Live Through This was written by Erlandson and Love.

By the time of the stupid Celebrity Skin, Love was unfocused, equally if not more interested in acting, and yes the number of co-writers speaks to this. There is zero evidence that Cobain WROTE ‘Live Through This’.

If you want to credit someone other than Love, credit ERLANDSON. The lyrics are pretty obviously Courtney Love’s.

The only people who ever claim LTT was written by Cobain are people who WERE NOT THERE. No surviving members of Nirvana have ever said anything to corroborate this bullshit theory.

I've always wondered about "Live Through This". Could be Erlandson's work but I've always thought it was Cobain's. The one person who definitely didn't write it was junkie-slag Courtney fucking Love.

R3’s squawking is tiresome. Cobain wrote LTT.
