Any fans of her? A cult star with a devoted fan base, Sandra remains one of the most popular singers of the 1980s in Continental Europe. During the height of her popularity, she even managed to outsell Madonna in a number of countries around the world. With sales in excess of 33 million records worldwide, Sandra has established her position as the most successful German female vocalist.
Is she well known in America? I only listen to foreign music so I wouldn’t know what’s mainstream.

Looks like she was mostly lip syncing or singing along to pre-recorded live vocals

Yeah, she was way ahead of her time on that score.

I like the song. It sounded like it would have come right off the Kylie Minogue debut album.

She was pretty good. R6 you don't seem to know what Eurodisco is. Sandra is not.

In 1986 I worked in a small boutique that sold lots of Turkish American Princess “party girl at the Palladium” outfits and Sandra was always on the tape deck, especially Maria Magdalena. Also, Modern Talking’s Diamonds Never Made a Lady.

Maria Magdalena was a huge worldwide hit... expect in the anglosphere. For some reason not even the UK embraced her, even though she was a success in continental Europe.
Her albums were produced by her ex-husband, Michael Cretu. He's a talented guy, and created that "Enigma" musical project in the 1990s. By the way, the female vocals in Sadeness were done by Sandra.

Her version of Everlasting Love is great. Very PSB-esque.

Everlasting Love was a huge gay bar hit in the USA.

Been enjoying her bangers on and off for years. They stand the test of time like no other 80s pop hits for me. Don't know if it's because they made such an impact when listening to them the first time around, intertwined with the time capsule/people/place/mood/emotions at the time, but they stay emotive and powerful. Bit like Alphaville/Forever Young and A-ha Take on Me.
