I actually quite like the reboot. But it can get a bit too preachy sometimes. Jackie is hilarious as ever and the rest of the cast are fab, but Darlene being the upfront Roseanne substitute character now it gets rather annoying with her constant nonsense. She's too fucking uptight.

The Conners is really not good. They've never figured out what to do with the characters and they've rewritten so much Roseanne history that some of it is unrecognizable.

Most of all, they write like rich Hollywood people writing Midwestern poor people. There was one scene where the entire family was looking through the couch cushions for loose change. That was when I had to give up on the show. Until the last few seasons, Barr always kept the original grounded.

It stinks.

For those who do not think the Connors is not very good, the last episode about 9:00 with Ben and Mark talking about his Driver's Test, is the finest sitcom acting I have ever seen. Two actors who totally understand their characters and the absurdity of their lives. Magnificent. There needs to be more of these than moments. Love these guys. Jay R. Ferguson is the best actor to work with.

I've always wondered what really is going on in Roseanne's head. If she believes that everybody else is wrong, isn't there at least a tiny little cell in her brain who is self-reflective and thinks it could be she who is out of step? But Roseanne probably doesn't have that type of echo-chamber. Or does she?

Had Roseanne kept her fat mouth shut and kept off Twitter, she’d be enjoying a Roseanne revival right now. Hell, they even integrated her Trumpism into season 10 to appease her. She has no one to blame but herself and her inflated ego. Having said that, I can almost believe Sara and Tom Werner expected her to derail at some point, which is why they gave her an opiate addiction. Watching season 10 and they almost seem to foreshadow her death, or set up her addiction in such a way that they can kill her off quite easily, but Roseanne was too stupid to realize it. I don’t doubt there was a contingency plan for life without Roseanne all along. The question was when Roseanne would blow it. As it turned out, it didn’t take her long.

The Conners is OK. I wish they hadn't changed Jackie into a nutcase and erased most of her history. And it's weird that they've brought in two young characters over the years it's been on but didn't use either Jerry Connor or Jackie's son. Just...weird why they made those decisions.

But I love Jay Ferguson and Katey Sagal on her, and the older kids - Harris and Mark - are OK.

Roseanne was amazingly authentic (before her plastic surgery). Super talented and went against all the leading lady stereotypes. I don't think she deserved to be canceled for a stupid mistake on social media. Also, I don't think she meant it as racist. She was being disrespectful and funny and didn't realize people would see what she posted as racial.

Not only is Roseanne crazy, she's a hater. She often referred to Obama as a Muslim and mocked his advisor, Valarie Jarrett, as being from Planet of the Apes. That's not humor, it's cruel.

I kept an eye on Roseanne's Twitter over the years, and she's the reason I knew what QAnon was before about 98% of the population. She was posting about it since 2016. That's what surprised me about the reboot - she had clearly long lost it and was a loose cannon.

But we all have a relative like that these days, don't we? A used-to-be-cool liberal aunt or mom who now believes that Oprah eats babies. My aunt fell down the same hole. It's why I still have sympathy for Roseanne - i hope that she wakes up someday, like I hope that my aunt does too.

The whole thing about Roseanne is that the VJ comment was the last straw.

It wasn't the first thing she'd said. She'd talked out of her ass a lot before that. There was the whole thing where she dressed as Hitler and put cookies into the oven. She lived to provoke. Some Hollywood figures with more conservative/fringe beliefs know how to play the game and stay employed. But for better or for worse, she went balls to the wall every time.

A lack of an editing system made her millions 35 years ago, but it brought her down 5 years ago. Facts.

I remember watching an episode where Darlene's daughter was selling stolen clothes on Etsy.
