I was lucky to see Twitch propose to Allison (on a commercial): it was beautiful- he took her atop a giant conference table, and they danced impromptu together (they must do this at home a zillion time) in a sort of gorgeous waltz. Afterwards, he got down on one knee and proposed. I still have a grainy Blackberry video of it. He really was a guy who could light up a room with his smile.

This is shocking, and I'm a bit gutted. I can't understand (but then none of us can) how someone who was such a (seemingly) happy and incredibly successful individual, with a beautiful family think that death is a better alternative.

I think it likely had to do with the show being cancelled. Sometimes people can be really depressed but.... if they're doing work that they're proud of....and also that keeps them *busy*, they do ok. When that gets taken away, it can mess people up. Idle hands are the devil's playground. Additionally, if he was predisposed to depression/anxiety, remember that he just lived through the trauma of Covid. This was/continues to be a big stressor for people with preexisting mental health issues and it may have affected him more than even he knew.

This is sad and also incredibly selfish. I understand the urge to sometimes not exist, but I would never, ever off myself. My father attempted it twice and it traumatized me and my siblings for life. My best friend's mother shot herself on Xmas Even in 1986. People who do it give no fucks who they are going to hurt because they are so mired in their own anguish and drama that they either don't want or cannot bring themselves to think of anyone who might be affected. It's a tragedy because there are so many things that might have helped him. For me, EMDR and antidepressants saved my life and completely changed my brain rewiring so that my chronic depression is pretty much not a thing anymore. His kids are going to be fucked up for the remainder of their lives but he didn't care.
