He's not wrong. Went to an art school theatre program for both middle and high school in the 90's. It was a great experience for self-discovery and experimentation. Not just sexually but everything. Psychological/dress/intellectual interests were dynamic. The boundaries were messy but overall the school had a very mentally healthy group of students because of it. We were encouraged to explore and develop and challenge our own style, within the context of being supported and grounded by teachers. In a lot of ways, it was much healthier than trying to inhabit tiny delineated categories for identity. They would have just been redundant anyways. A lot of the staff and teachers were out and so we had amazing, adult mentors who were models for what it meant to be gay, responsible, community-oriented, and artistic and just have a normal life.

Many, if not most actors are self involved. The crave attention and will take it from anyone they can get. Then there are the sociopaths who see people as things to use to get what they want. I don't consider either bisexual as there is no emotional connection in either case. They are just users.

Iirc, 90% of the women in my early 2010s Theatre degree classes craved cock above all, though they'd drunkenly kiss each or grope each other on a night out. Idk about the young males classmates I had. I volunteered for a few theaters over the years, both small community theaters and larger ones that would probably be more prestigious, and I found that yes, actors can be flexible, if not 24/7 bisexual.

I knew of two men that were happily het and not cruising on the sides or anything, but had affairs with their male costars during the run of gay themed plays.

A great deal of people make the mistake of lumping genuine sexual desire and "sex as a commodity" together.

Just because an actor puts out for a higher up to get cast, doesn't make the actor necessarily gay or even bi. We do a lot of stuff in life that we wouldn't do for free, but because it's sexual, it must somehow fit in people's limited geometric shape sorter mind.

There's many beautiful and talented people who aren't famous walking around everyday and in cities like LA and NYC they are heavily concentrated. Yet certain people get chosen and doesn't always seem based around talent. That said the casting couch won't make you famous, having the right look and persona that is marketable is what it takes. There's many a story of messed up people who used the casting couch just to go nowhere.

I live in LA and work in the industry -- it's not that most actors are gay as much as most of them are either opportunists, narcissists, or desperate.

If you're young and you come to town with no contacts, you'll sleep with anyone to get ahead. For god's sake, Chuck Norris was known as Butt Fuck Chuck for his first few years here.

If you're a narcissist and anyone famous comes on to you, you go with it because it just proves what you already believe, that you're the center of the world and everyone wants you. But you have to actually do it to prove it.

A starving actor or musician who is willing to sleep with the right people for a shot at stardom or money to survive isn't the same thing. There is no need to have an emotional connection with someone in order to have a primal desire to have sex with them. Sexual orientation doesn’t have much (or anything) to do with emotions; it’s about biology and it’s generally immutable.

The main reason we have sex with other people is to feel validated. We tend to see validation as essential as the need to eat, drink, sleep and breathe. And nobody can turn an essential need into an issue better than us humans.

For years I cast models, and the owners and bookers at the agencies, when male, were always gay, and male models quickly learnt from others that if wanted to accelerate their careers, they needed to learn how to flirt HARD. I watched some of it and it was pretty stomach turning, but when you've been bunked up in a shitty apartment with four other guys going to endless castings, there's very little you won't do. I presume Hollywood is like Milan, which is NOTORIOUS in the industry. In Milan the casting lines during Fashion weeks can stretch round the block for both men and women, and MeToo hasn't really registered there at all. Everyone knows the game, and they play it hard.
