Dealt with him once. He’s much sweeter and 100x hotter than his friend Bowen Yang.

He is about a million times more talented than the whiny, one-note Bowen, but, like R11, I was hoping to like the special a little more than I did. It’s fine, but I haven’t had the need to rewatch any of the songs.

The Jinkx and De La Crème holiday special is very funny. Funnier then it should be. Id also include The Bitch Who Stole Christmas as another funny holiday spoof.

I saw him promoting the special; he definitely has star quality. Charismatic, likeable, and funny. He's also very attractive which usually doesn't work well for comedians, but for him it does.

Matt and Bowen both auditioned for SNL at the same time. Guess they picked Bowen for the double minority.

I'd never heard of this guy before I listened to some podcast where somebody was raving about how great this special is, so I watched it.

1. Waaaaaaaaay too much singing. His songs are, at best, mildly amusing in places, and they all sound the same. His singing is very "gay guy at karaoke night", and gets old real quick.

2. I much preferred the sketches to the songs. He does have a fair amount of charisma and talent, and this is where it shows. He's doing a variation of that "oblivious dolt who has no clue what a loser he is" character (think Bojack Horseman, Valerie Cherish in "The Comeback", "Eastbound and Down", etc. etc.) and he does it really well.

3. I'd be interested in seeing more of his work, as long as it doesn't involve music. If that's his main schtick, I'm out.

I thought he was really good on I Like That For You, but I couldn't get past all the not great singing and the bad original songs, which weren't nearly as clever as they were intended to be. I'd still watch him in non-singing stuff.
