Tina made it very clear that she’s not close to her children. They were more like acquaintances to her. Don’t get me wrong, I like Tina a lot, but mother of the year she was not, nor could she be with Ike there.

Ronnie and Craig both visited Tina in Europe with some frequency. It seems like Ronnie probably met his French wife through Tina, but I can’t say for sure.

I read here that everyone's just waiting for Tina to die for all if the tell all books to come out. Based on that Instagram post, it sounds like her daughter-in-law may write one.

Tina's 2 natural born sons are now dead. Her other 2 children - both sons - were adopted by Tina. Ike's other children, (reportedly 4 others) were not adopted by Tina.

As a huge Tina fan, I can confirm what R34 said.

Ronnie played a small part in her biopic, What's Love... and he joined Tina on her last tour in 2008-2009.

Of course Switzerland allows dual, treble, quadruple (whatever) citizenship.

It's because the USA has made it difficult for Americans living in Switzerland. Big Brother (the IRS) demands Swiss banks provide quarterly reports on the bank activities of US citizens.

Swiss banks said fuck all that extra work and thereafter prohibited Americans from having bank accounts.

Tina and many other Americans dumped their USA citizenship for this reason and other related financial hassles. You can't blame them.

R44, yeah, it's a real tearjerker when the super rich are asked to pay what they owe in taxes.

I am a fan of Tina Turner but never knew she had kids. I never saw her in pictures with them the way others (like Diana Ross) who are very close to their children post pictures of their children./grandchildren.. I know she moved to Europe a long time ago. Could it be they weren’t close or were neglected? I am just wondering because to lose not one but two sons this way is so tragic.

R50, Yes but no. TT is already paying taxes in Switzerland where she resides. The US is only one of a handful of countries that demands tribute from its citizens wherever they are domiciled and from wherever they derive their income. Even if they have not set foot on US soil in decades nor have any financial dealings there. That is double dipping, so rich or not, it's a hassle and as R44 has pointed out, keeping her US citizenship would have made life difficult for her in Switzerland. So she chose.

The US also makes it difficult to give up your citizenship. You have go through a lot of bureaucracy and pay to stop being an American.

Tina said in her autobiography that she was away a lot, on tour with Ike, or when she was starting up again after leaving Ike, she focused everything on her career.

She doesn't talk much about her kids in her first book, I, Tina. But it's clear she prioritized her career over her kids. I don't think it was because she is purely selfish, I guess singing and performing were all she really knew since she had been doing them from a young age. And she was determined to be a huge solo act after leaving Ike. So she made a lot of sacrifices, including her kids.

When she left Ike, she didn't take her kids with her.

By the time Tina started working on her comeback in the late 70s, her kids were practically grown. It's not like they were young, grade school-aged children.

It’s not like she really had a choice about being on the road with Ike. He was at least as ambitious as she was. Probably more so in the Ike & Tina years.

Tina left Ike in 1976. Craig was 18 and Ronnie was 16. So, yeah, they were basically adults.

What has Tina done to her face?

She's 84 - I hope she stays in good health for many more years.
