Word abuser

My good friend, whom I’ve been around a lot lately, uses the word “forbidden” incessantly. He is preoccupied with it. I’m beyond over hearing him interject “forbidden” into every other sentence. Today I’d had enough and I flat out said “please stop using the word ‘forbidden’. I can’t take it anymore”. Now he’s acting offended and went home early. Ugh!

Examples of him abusing the word, OP?

by Anonymousreply 1December 5, 2022 10:41 PM

Overusing

by Anonymousreply 2December 5, 2022 10:42 PM

So in other words, OP, you've forbidden him from using the word forbidden.

Lick it up

by Anonymousreply 4December 6, 2022 1:56 AM

Introduce him to "forbade" while suggesting changing things up, OP, you essentially sloppy twat.

by Anonymousreply 5December 6, 2022 2:37 AM

R5 “forbidden” is an adjective.

"Forbade" is a verb in the past tense.

I had a brief transaction with a library technician yesterday.

Thankfully the book and I both had our own individual barcodes. Because the library technician couldn't speak words that I know at all.

Have them switch to the word “forsaken.”

by Anonymousreply 8December 7, 2022 9:46 PM

[quote] “forsaken.”

Only God can use that word.

by Anonymousreply 9December 7, 2022 9:49 PM

R9 I am a god.

by Anonymousreply 10December 7, 2022 9:53 PM

Perhaps your friend is a fan of Margaret White in Carrie (the musical).

In another thread, the OP kept using the word “circumspect” in several different posts, but didn’t know the meaning.

by Anonymousreply 12December 8, 2022 5:43 AM

Circumspect means wary and unwilling to take risks.

by Anonymousreply 13December 8, 2022 5:51 AM

One up them & use verboten.

by Anonymousreply 14December 8, 2022 6:18 AM

Stop hanging around with the former Pope.

by Anonymousreply 15December 8, 2022 7:32 AM

"Forbidden" is canceled!

There, I said it!

by Anonymousreply 16December 8, 2022 7:39 AM

Well, at least you know what to get him for Christmas.

Trepidation. Throw that one at your abuser.

by Anonymousreply 18December 8, 2022 8:15 AM

Kiss and make up, life is too short...

by Anonymousreply 19December 8, 2022 9:25 AM

R6, you idiot, my statement did not identify "forbade" as a replacement. It was offered as a new shiny object to distract.

Place your third-grade English lessons among your illiterate family, please. We don't need it here, School Marm.
