It’s just too fucking sad. It reminds me of something my late ( why late? She’s not late. She’s dead) mother used to stay when she saw a homeless person, „ he was once a cute precious baby, and his mother kissed his little feet.“ Poor Marky

A picture truly is worth a thousand words. See the link. Lucky the poor octogenarian didn't ask if she was auditioning for the Lion King! Ditto if you rock up in a dirndl and plaits: expect to be asked if you're from Central Europe. Don't mistake well-meaning curiosity for racism.

I am 60 and got scammed the other day for 0 dollars, online, because after I did the transaction, my spidey sense said something was wrong. It was past midnight. I called my credit card company and described the transaction (worth a couple bucks only) and they said it was a scam. I was surprised my observation didn't pick it up from the start. That's what I'm saying. I can see a slight dulling of extreme attentiveness.
I won't end up like this sad soul but seniors need to pay attention and not engage in things and people who have even a slight chance of being untrustworthy. I've seen my friends getting suckered started even in their 50s!
