What does Stevie have to say?
[quote] What does Stevie have to say?
She had a great coke spoon but couldn’t live forever.

Wow, wasn't expecting that one. They said a "brief illness". Wonder how the surviving bandmates feel now, since they couldn't get that final reunion together.
I though Buckingham would go first, from that group, given his recent serious health issues.

And Stevie is still kicking.
Literally.

I'm surprised and sad.

R5 Are you really?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 30, 2022 9:45 PM |
Stevie is gearing up to make it all about her.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 30, 2022 9:49 PM |
R7 She made a kind and sweet post on her FB.

Over and Over from Tusk is a beautiful song. I'm glad it was a brief illness and she didn't suffer for long.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 30, 2022 9:53 PM |
"I'm getting older, too."

I am NOT clicking on that Twitter link (for obvious reasons). That said, who exactly is Christine McVie, and why should I be concerned about her death?

You've heard "Over and Over," r11? From Tusk.

Thanks for the (attempted) save, R12 but, as an awkward and anachronistic teenager, I was listening to Beethoven and Chopin in the '70s .
P.S. I'm still listening to Beethoven and Chopin, but have expanded to Brahms, Ravel, Couperin, Schumann, Bartok, Edith Piaf, and Benny Goodman.

She was 79 and told the Times in June that she was in "debilitating back pain." Hope she's found some peace--no shade to Stevie, but Christine was always the gem in that band.

Sing, Sing, Sing is an outstanding song.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 30, 2022 11:23 PM |
That was for R13.

My 1st husband liked to put on Rumours for our nasty time. He usually finished by Go Your Own Way and we would lay there catching our breath while Songbird played. After he died I couldnt listen to those songs for years without crying like a fool. I heard this news today and I put on Songbird cried like a bitch for an hour. It was like saying goodbye to him all over again. Like someone else stated,Stevie may have been the "star" of Fleetwood, but Christine was the real talent. Though I love Stevie, dont get me wrong.

For r13, my favorite piece by Brahms, the clarinet quintet, with handsome Austrian clarinetist Andy Ottensamer.

Start your own thread about Brahms R20 . This thread is about Miss McVie !

^ Oops. Clarinet Trio above.
Here's the Clarinet Quintet, by the Amadeus Quartet with Karl Leister:

Did you use a dildo today in lieu of your first husband?

Love you R19.

She wrote Brown Eyes about Dennis Wilson when they were a thing.

If you don't have a clue, or care, about rock musicians, then why the fuck are you even in this thread?
I'm always amazed that people who claim they don't know, or care, about certain celebrities and musicians, 'somehow' always end up in their threads, then, inevitably, make some lame comment.

R28 It knew exactly who she was

I thought this death would've been more talked about here on the DL.
I didn't care much for artists that were already out before 1980 when I grew up in the 80s.
This was the first time that I heard her voice on the radio =

I don't remember ever reading about tension or jealousy between Christine and Stevie.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | December 1, 2022 2:15 AM |
R30, there are three or four other threads about her death and one about why people post threads about breaking news without searching or with the knowledge that there must be existing threads.

I knew this was going to happen one day.

As did she, R34.

“Disco Duck” and Fleetwood Mac/coming out of my 8 track/Michael Jackson still was black./Those we’re the days!

Please tell me this is a duplicate thread. Christine deserves more than 38 replies.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | December 1, 2022 4:04 AM |
The other thread has 20 replies. Not surprising. McVie, like her ex-husband John, was in the background, not part of the never-ending dramas generated by Stevie, Lindsey and Mick.
