December 21st.
I’ve seen 5 episodes so far, it’s getting better as it goes along. The first few eps were annoying with the agency stuff. How many times is she going to get fired? It was repetitive, as is the fawning about ‘I can’t believe I’m in Paris.’ I liked her with Alfie last season, but this season I’m not feeling the chemistry. A guy like him wouldn’t go for a cartoon character like her. She fits better with Gabriel. The Camille thing is interesting. Oh, and I wish they would stop with Mindy singing in every episode.

I'm enjoying season 3 so far but did they really need to lift the lesbian artist getting involved with a straight woman storyline from SATC? Emily has zero chemistry with sexy Alfie and I'm so glad they sent annoying Kate Walsh back to America.

I hate how they made Madeline the stereotypical American, complete with bad wardrobe. But she is a 100% better executive than Sylvie.

[R2] Emily has friend chemistry with Alfie AND Gabriel! No matter how many times they tell us Emily and Gabriel have this grand love at first sight thing going on, I just don't feel it! Which made the ending all the more chaotic...but I'll probably be back next season.
I'm not surprised Camille likes pussy but I am surprised by how much I disliked her this season. She seemed like a stone-cold bitch, playing with both Gabriel and the Greek artist out of boredom. Maybe the actress just sucks at playing conflicting emotions. I actually liked Emily the entire way through the season, another surprise! I appreciate Lily's acting more having seen her switch genres well in that Windfall movie.
Mindy has no place singing in a jazz club with her pop musical theater voice and both of her love interests were dicks in different ways, so her whole storyline was a bust.

What happened to Lucas Bravo? He doesn't look as nearly as dazzling as he did in seasons 1 and 2. He looks tired and thin.

R5 tired, thin and missing a storyline.

The actress who plays Sylvie has the funnest role of them all.

Gabriel looks sickly this season.
Has the the actor been partaking in questionable extracurricular activities?

The character of Madeline is so fucking annoying. I watched 10 minutes of S3/E1 and had to give it a rest. Actually, Mindy has gotten more obnoxious as well.

I got the vibe that some of the actors were over it, definitely the actress who plays Camille.
I thought Sylvie was very unlikeable this season and got old looking. Her outfits exposing her wrinkly chest was not a good look. Mindy was more annoying than ever too. S3 was terrible.

I don't buy Camille suddenly having a Brand New lesbian awakening at 28 or however old these people are supposed to be.

Sylvie gets a lot of hot dick.

MIndy has always been annoying.
Lucas was looking fat last season, I wonder if they told him to lose weight. At any rate his puffy hair looks ridiculous.

That was quite a cliffhanger. Not a great show but highly enjoyable.

r5 since I saw Lucas in "Ticket to Paradise" I've noticed our boy has gotten a little thick and he has some hips on him. He's a very handsome man, but Hollywood really cleans him up. In real life he's a lot less hot. This season didn't help him with by giving him a goofy hairstyle in the first few episodes.
Here is a normal picture of him outside of the Hollywood magic.

Way to ruin the illusion, R15!

Lucas is featured in the lovely Mrs Harris Goes to Paris movie. Not much of a part but he looks very handsome in glasses.

Whoever is doing the hair on this season is doing a terrible job.

Hate Mindy and her singing in almost every episode. Instant fast-forward. The Lesbian Awakening of Camille is ridiculous. Emily is more annoying than ever. Still that naive after all she's supposedly experienced in Paris? The mean have become so meh, although Gabriel still raises sparks in my loins. Sylvie is becoming a hungry hag. The character of Emily is way too much of a Mary Sue in that the writing portrays her as so very competent in everything. Everything she touches, even if it starts out a mess, becomes perfectly solved to everyone's satisfaction and benefit, and she's lauded for her talent, charm, foresight, and general wonderfulness over and over. Gross! Also, I have no more patience for the constant promenade of grandiose outfits. It's all giving me vibes reminiscent of the SATC Dubai movie debacle. This over-the-top fashion might have been escapist fun in S.1 and some of S.2, but by now the show is now saccharine as fuck and nauseating. I don't know that I'll finish this season.
Feeling my feelings here. MARY!

Maybe the reason I enjoy it is because I see the show as pure fantasy and escapism. I love the shots of Paris as well as the male eye candy (I'm looking at you, Alfie).
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 28, 2022 5:26 PM |
Yeah, I watch it for Paris.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 28, 2022 5:32 PM |
Paris is definitely the star of this series. Could do without the actors and storylines though, haha.

I find Emily more annoying than Mindy.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | December 28, 2022 6:59 PM |
Yeah, I love when the bosses were a bitch to her. More of that
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 28, 2022 7:10 PM |
I made the mistake of being in Paris while watching the first episode of Season 3. The show was a bit of delightful escapism during the pandemic, but now that I’ve been reminded it shows an extremely sanitized version of Paris…it’s less enjoyable.

So I just finished and I already miss it. I audibly groaned when Netflix told me there was one episode left. It took me 3 tries to even get into this show. But once I really gave it a chance, I just let the vibrant colors, gorgeous men, and over the top fashion to sweep me away. The show is like a nice Netflix dessert.
This season felt really strong for me. I could hardly remember too many details from S2, but caught up quickly. I'm glad a S4 is already guaranteed. This is how I shoudl have felt at the end of "And, Just Like That". Excited or distracted. Great job to the Emily in Paris team.
