Well we all know how history turned out. Beyonce became a living icon, and well Ashanti....she once starred in a Muppet version of the Wizard of OZ.

I have several Ashanti songs in my song library. I really like her voice a lot. I don’t have any Beyoncé. For whatever reason I just never warmed up to any of her stuff.

R13, Her singing career stalled because like most people who arent intrinsically talented the public moves on to the next hot thing. Ashanti was a pretty face among a sea of pretty. She had a pretty voice but wasn't doing anything particularly groundbreaking. And then Murder Inc got caught up in that whole tax fraud. And she had to perform at every award show with Queen Bey rolling them thick thighs and performing like Tina Turner. Bey also had the more flyover appeal with the blonde hair and long neck.
