Queen Elizabeth II died of painful bone cancer, new book claims

Queen Elizabeth II spent her final years secretly suffering through painful cancer, according to a new biography of the late British monarch.

The Queen, who died in September after more than 70 years on the throne, worked through the agony of bone marrow cancer — the most common symptom of which is bone pain, according to “Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait,” an upcoming biography written by author and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth.

In the months leading up to her death at the age of 96, there was widespread speculation that the Queen was dealing with an illness. Her death certificate officially listed her cause of death as “old age.”

She would not have been smiling like she was at the horse races over the last year or have been able to greet the prime minister du jour like she did a couple of days before she died if she had late stage bone cancer.

Lady C was RIGHT. Her sources are now proven sound.

I really hope she wasn't in pain for years.

:(

by Anonymousreply 5November 27, 2022 5:20 AM

She, unlike us, had access to real painkillers, r5.

by Anonymousreply 6November 27, 2022 5:28 AM

"The author went into detail about the Queen's condition being the less painful of two types of bone cancers, and claimed people should be "grateful" that her death was "relatively painless."

In the video, that has been watched more than 230,000 times, Campbell claimed that the Queen died at 2.37pm on Thursday having been “suffering from a serious and invariably fatal condition of the bones".

Campbell said she did not want to get into specifics, saying: “I don’t want to use the word that accurately conveys the medical diagnosis, out of deference to Her Majesty’s dignity and privacy."

She added: “If she wants to reveal that word, or her advisors wish to reveal it, that is up to them. I don’t think one needs to use the word to get across the point that I think most people will be able to pick up, that this is a really serious situation.

“The condition has been induced, in part, according to people who know her well, has been created by the tremendous stress to which she has been subjected over the last three years."

by Anonymousreply 7November 27, 2022 5:37 AM

That's the painful truth R6.

by Anonymousreply 8November 27, 2022 5:42 AM

Lady C knew what was going on. And she called it.

The bloody royals with their secrecy such as not revealing the real cause of death on a death certificate.

It's distasteful to suffer pain and to die of cancer. Harrumph.

by Anonymousreply 9November 27, 2022 5:44 AM

R3: ‘sound’ - a valid argument with true premises, ensuring a *true* conclusion

Bravo

by Anonymousreply 10November 27, 2022 5:52 AM

Ever since dna-disease tracking, r9 Royals now never disclose the cause of death. It's always "old age" or something bland.

by Anonymousreply 11November 27, 2022 5:53 AM

Something tasteful, dear.

by Anonymousreply 12November 27, 2022 5:57 AM

I tried but she was too tough for me.

by Anonymousreply 13November 27, 2022 6:04 AM

That professor who hoped the Queen died in agony must be pleased. Can't recall her name, but she was a black woman. Terrible person to wish agony on someone when you hear about her death. Callous. Damn her.

Bone cancer is a very painful cancer--FOR THE POOR AND THE RICH

Poor old lady. Her pain's finally over, now. She's free.

by Anonymousreply 14November 27, 2022 6:08 AM

QE2 was a tough old broad, and she had class and dignity till the very end, she did, the veritable British stiff upper lip, keep calm and carry on, and all that rot...

by Anonymousreply 15November 27, 2022 6:08 AM

Thank God it wasn't pussy cancer!

That would have been SO not royal!

by Anonymousreply 16November 27, 2022 6:09 AM

The Queen is having a bit of a mobility issssue.

[Quote]Britain, seeking to maintain control of oil production in the region, sided with the Nigerian government and sent vast amounts of arms to be used against the rebels.

^^^ This bitch is off the hook. Hun, every country on the planet sided with the Nigerian gov. Armed separatism is a no-no in our international system.

by Anonymousreply 20November 27, 2022 6:26 AM

This comes from Lady Colin Campbell, probably, and I still contend that if the Queen had bone cancer, she would not have been doing so well in the public appearances she did make, and she wouldn't have been losing weight at a slow rate like she was. She would have been in excruciating pain, and if on enough painkillers to make it through, acting oddly. She never was.

by Anonymousreply 21November 27, 2022 6:27 AM

Good medicine and good food makes an incredible difference, r21.

98% of Americans have shit medicine, shit food, and no pain alleviation.

by Anonymousreply 22November 27, 2022 7:01 AM

R21 is right, though, that to be on the amount of opiods you'd need for end-stage bone cancer, you might not be in pain but you would probably be too zonked for public appearances. It's possible that this was the case for the many appearances she cancelled last-minute in the last six months before she died, and that she only appeared on "good" days when the level of background medication, to which she was habituated, was enough.

R22 is also right, that whatever killed her the doctors would have spared no effort to alleviate pain. They tend not to worry about you developing a fentanyl addiction when you're 92.

by Anonymousreply 23November 27, 2022 9:23 AM

She might not have died of bone cancer; she may have died with bone cancer. The immediate cause of death was clearly something unexpected, for example a head injury from a fall, a stroke, or a heart attack. She may not have been end stage yet plus Lady Colin said the Queen had “the less painful of the two types”. So perhaps the pain wasn’t so excruciating by the time she died that she would need to be constantly heavily drugged.

by Anonymousreply 24November 27, 2022 10:21 AM

Poor lady. I wouldn't even wish bone cancer on Trump.

by Anonymousreply 25November 27, 2022 10:34 AM

I wonder if HM used copious amounts of pot towards the end of her run. My dad with squamous cell carcinoma definitely gets some kind of relief with it. But I'm just silly.

by Anonymousreply 26November 27, 2022 10:40 AM

Told ya I was hard core.

by Anonymousreply 27November 27, 2022 3:12 PM

Bone cancer will make you beg for death.

by Anonymousreply 28November 27, 2022 3:20 PM

Taking the Monarch out is not unheard of, as we know was the case with George V. In the Queens case though, it may have been nefarious forces working for Camilla, who couldn't wait any longer to be Queen.

by Anonymousreply 29November 27, 2022 3:35 PM

I wonder what killed her. She seemed fine a year ago but visibly faded away in the last 12 months. She lost a lot of weight and was kind of "shrinking".

by Anonymousreply 30November 27, 2022 4:00 PM

[quote] I wonder what killed her.

Maybe the title of the thread is a clue?

Just a guess.

by Anonymousreply 31November 27, 2022 4:03 PM

😏 I read it online. Therefore, it simply must be true !

by Anonymousreply 32November 27, 2022 4:09 PM

^I don't think it was cancer. She would have been on heavy pain medication if she really had terminal cancer. Patients with terminal cancer are usually not able to get out of bed and greet the prime minister or record sketches. Her death also appeared to be sudden and unexpected.

by Anonymousreply 33November 27, 2022 4:11 PM

People with cancer get up and move around all the time. People in the END STAGES of cancer are the ones incapable of doing so.

Clearly the Queen had cancer that was being managed adequately well enough for her to host guests the weekend before.

My guess is that she fell or had a stroke, and that the cancer made that event into a fatal one.

by Anonymousreply 34November 27, 2022 4:19 PM

^^^ you do amuse. She'd been missing engagements for months.

by Anonymousreply 35November 27, 2022 4:20 PM

"Bone cancer" and "bone marrow cancer" (multiple myeloma) are two different things. We seem to be using the terms interchangeably. Which one did she actually have?

by Anonymousreply 36November 27, 2022 4:50 PM

I thought it was full blown AIDS.

by Anonymousreply 37November 27, 2022 4:57 PM

Harry and Megain and Charles were people who contributed to her speedy death, sadly.

by Anonymousreply 38November 27, 2022 5:01 PM

Here are the differences between the two. My loathsome brother has multiple myeloma.

by Anonymousreply 42November 27, 2022 6:41 PM

Good thing, OP was specific about this bone cancer being painful. 'cause, you know, usually bone cancer is just a breeze.

by Anonymousreply 43November 27, 2022 6:45 PM

I used the phrase "painful bone cancer" because it was the exact same phrase used in the headline I linked to, dipshit.

[quote] [R14] that's Uju Anya, whose entire life is very comfy, secure and privileged. She's richer and more secure than most people on this board will ever be.

???

She's just an associate professor at a university. She's not even a full professor yet.

I think you're uninformed about how much money most university professors actually make.

by Anonymousreply 45November 27, 2022 7:04 PM

R45, that cunt needs to be fired and banned from any university.

by Anonymousreply 46November 27, 2022 7:11 PM

R42, my sister had the same and beat her by a year, dying at 54. Such a cruel way to die. I wish you the best. I miss her every day.

by Anonymousreply 47November 27, 2022 7:24 PM

She did die due to old age because she was very old.

The End.

by Anonymousreply 48November 27, 2022 7:32 PM

She died of bone cancer and fighting a fire on an oil rig in the Caribbean?

by Anonymousreply 49November 27, 2022 7:33 PM

An "author" drops a so-called bombshell to sell a new book.

How unusual.

by Anonymousreply 50November 27, 2022 7:35 PM

My mom was told she had “bone cancer” and was not in pain. I think when you get really old, like my mom or QE, some cancers progress extremely slowly.

by Anonymousreply 51November 27, 2022 7:40 PM

Could have been really bad monkey pox. After Philip died she probably fooled around a lot.

by Anonymousreply 52November 27, 2022 7:59 PM

It would have been great if the Queen had outlived Charles, but sadly it was not to be. Now, we we have to hope the longevity isn't in the cards for CUNTMILLA and she croaks soon!

by Anonymousreply 53November 27, 2022 9:05 PM

Right up almost to the die she died, she was able to (mostly) stand on her own, leaning on a cane. For anyone with an aging parent, being able to stand on your own - never mind for any period of time - is no easy feat. She didn't even have a walker nearby to grab onto if she felt unsteady.
