Dull ache in left nut

Has anyone ever experienced this? Last night all of a sudden I got a dull ache in my left nut that comes and goes. Not really discussed anywhere online?

Am I going to die?

by Anonymousreply 58November 22, 2022 12:26 AM

Is it tingling?

by Anonymousreply 1November 20, 2022 11:55 PM

Nut lumbago.

by Anonymousreply 2November 20, 2022 11:55 PM

Will you die? Possibly. Can I have your stuff?

by Anonymousreply 3November 20, 2022 11:56 PM

I have - you are probably just dehydrated. Drink some water.

by Anonymousreply 4November 20, 2022 11:56 PM

Probably just another STI, OP. Unchecked syphilis can linger for years before symptoms start to show.

by Anonymousreply 5November 20, 2022 11:57 PM

Jerk off, go to sleep. If you're hot, share a video. If not, spare us.

Hopefully not testicular torsion - but if pain persists for more than the next 48 hours, go to a doctor - for real.

The Clap.

by Anonymousreply 7November 20, 2022 11:59 PM

R1 No, no tingle.

R6 Thanks. I’ve only noticed it at night. It’s been about 24 hours.

by Anonymousreply 8November 20, 2022 11:59 PM

When I looked into testicular torsion, it sounded severe / painful.

by Anonymousreply 9November 21, 2022 12:00 AM

Cancer

by Anonymousreply 10November 21, 2022 12:01 AM

It's clearly your parasitic twin trying to break free.

by Anonymousreply 11November 21, 2022 12:03 AM

I feel fine, look like a thin John Barrowman, have a hundred million in assets, no debts, look 50 because I am, and have had no sensation at all in my genitals since 1987.

by Anonymousreply 12November 21, 2022 12:04 AM

Have your balls moved to your thighs.

by Anonymousreply 13November 21, 2022 12:05 AM

I just checked. The left one definitely seems swollen. They’re lopsided.

by Anonymousreply 14November 21, 2022 12:13 AM

That happened to me when I was a teen. The one nut was swollen and sore and I couldn’t take the aching. My dad, who was absolutely not the parent who generally took care of me, actually took me to the ER that night. I got an exam and nothing really came of it.

A few years later when I was 21 in college, the pain was so bad at times I could hardly walk. At that point, I went to a different hospital and had an ultrasound done. Turned out I had a varicose vein that was strangling the life out of my one nut. The doctor told me I should have surgery — a simple snip of the vein (ouch!) — to prevent sterility. Well, I never had that done. I have no idea if I’m sterile now, but it hardly matters.

Another thing— a few years after THAT, I started to get hernia pains that would travel from my lower intestine down into my nutsack. I assumed it was “the vein” acting up again, so I went to a doctor and got diagnosed with a hernia on my left side… AND my right side … AND my belly button. I had them all taken care of in one surgery.

by Anonymousreply 15November 21, 2022 12:18 AM

R14 See a doctor now or go to the ER.

by Anonymousreply 16November 21, 2022 12:19 AM

Another thing I meant to write — my left nut has always looked larger and hung down lower than my right one. Some nuts are like that. I always wished I had perfect goose-egg nuts that don’t have any visible epididymus, but I’ve never been that lucky. They’re otherwise a nice big pair of low-hangers.

by Anonymousreply 17November 21, 2022 12:24 AM

R17 Yeah I’m OP I feel like one nut has always been bigger than the other. I automatically assumed they were swelling but they look the same size one just hangs lower.

by Anonymousreply 18November 21, 2022 12:25 AM

OP, you might have epididymitis.

Worms

by Anonymousreply 21November 21, 2022 12:26 AM

I had pain one time in my right testicle and it turned out to be from a hernia up above.

by Anonymousreply 22November 21, 2022 12:47 AM

I hate to be the one who always has to point out that testicular cancer usually is painless while it develops, and by the time pain is felt it's too late to save the testicle and often the surrounding tissues. And prognoses are not good.

Not good at all, OP.

by Anonymousreply 23November 21, 2022 12:51 AM

Ooooo...the left nut is the important nut.

by Anonymousreply 24November 21, 2022 1:55 AM

An onset of elephantiasis. If you are already 300 lbs, the swollen testes will add another 25 lbs.

by Anonymousreply 25November 21, 2022 2:09 AM

You clearly have shark AIDS.

by Anonymousreply 26November 21, 2022 2:14 AM

See your primary care doctor, OP. It's probably Epididymitis, as R20 suggests, but there's a few other things it could be, like an infection, the beginnings of testicular cancer, etc. Your PCP will no doubt give you a referral to see a urologist, but that can take time that you might not have. See if your PCP will prescribe an antibiotic to fight a potential infection, and keep the appointment with urology.

If the swelling gets bigger, becomes more painful, or if you develop pain or difficulty urinating, go to an ER.

by Anonymousreply 27November 21, 2022 2:23 AM

R23, that is really unhelpful and uncool. There always has to be one of you in the “diagnose me” threads, doesn’t there.

by Anonymousreply 28November 21, 2022 2:37 AM

I’ve been in the ER for the last 2.5 hours. I had 2 doctors check and got an ultra sound - exam lady told me worst cases scenario has been ruled out after the ultra sound.

by Anonymousreply 29November 21, 2022 4:26 AM

The exam lady said it could be muscular or skeletal pain (I think that’s what she said).

But I’m still here waiting for whatever else is coming.

by Anonymousreply 30November 21, 2022 4:28 AM

I just got cleared by the doctor.

Nothing in the ultrasound, nothing in my urine. And STD’s are ruled out because I haven’t been sexually actively since October 24th.

by Anonymousreply 31November 21, 2022 4:40 AM

Hell yeah, OP! Glad you got good news. Take that, testicular cancer alarmist upthread.

Did they perform an examination of your abdomen to check for a hernia above that testicle?

by Anonymousreply 32November 21, 2022 4:47 AM

October 24th?? That’s only three weeks ago. Why would that date rule out ANYTHING?

by Anonymousreply 33November 21, 2022 4:53 AM

R32 They didn’t.

R33 I don’t know but I wasn’t that sexually active on the 24th. I have someone a bj for like 2 minutes.

Prior to that, it’s been a while.

by Anonymousreply 34November 21, 2022 5:28 AM

I had a pain in my right nut and the urologist didn't think it was serious. He did a ultrasound and decided to be on safe side to cut me open an have a look. It turned out to be a teratoma and my nut was removed.

by Anonymousreply 35November 21, 2022 5:36 AM

So, it wasn’t nut lumbago.

Hunh … did you ask your docs to check specifically for that?

by Anonymousreply 36November 21, 2022 5:57 AM

This happened to me many years ago, Except the pain would be quite acute for a few days before going away and not the dull ache you describe. I ignored it for several months before going in. Turns out it was testicular cancer, but a different kind than the “painless lump” you read about when you look up information on your nuts. Go to the doctor; if it is testicular cancer, it’s quite treatable. But the earlier the better.

by Anonymousreply 37November 21, 2022 6:04 AM

It could be what is called a tortion/detortion....this is when the nut twists up but then untwists on its own.

Not all doctors will tell you this. They will say "you didn't have a tortion because pain wasnt 10 on 10!"

It's so good to go to the ER. Never chance it with testicle pain.

But know about tortion/detortion. Tell other guys! I'm serious.

by Anonymousreply 38November 21, 2022 6:05 AM

Get it checked asap, I ignored the pain for too long and now my testicular cancer has spread throughout my body and it's a pain in the ass.

r38 Testicular torsion does in fact come with unbearable pain and your nut starts dying if not treated within a day or two, so it's probably not that.

by Anonymousreply 39November 21, 2022 7:09 AM

But a tortion/detortion can create a lingering soreness....NOT an unbearable pain.

Either way GO TO THE ER WITHIN 4 HOURS OF ANY TESTICULAR PAIN OR RISK LOSING THE NUT.

by Anonymousreply 40November 21, 2022 2:19 PM

Get it checked out ASAP. Don't let fear stop you from doing so. And if it turns out to be OK, you can joke about your sensitive balls.

by Anonymousreply 41November 21, 2022 2:28 PM

I had a similar situation a few months ago. Turned out I had a benign cyst on my left testicle. It’s harmless but painful. They’re going to operate to remove it next month; hopefully that helps.

by Anonymousreply 42November 21, 2022 2:29 PM

R40 I didn’t have it. There was nothing in the ultrasound.

by Anonymousreply 43November 21, 2022 3:31 PM

Sorry to hear R39, and I didn’t mean to imply treatment is a breeze, which it wasn’t. Hope you’re managing alright.

by Anonymousreply 44November 21, 2022 5:07 PM

This is a clear case of Hradjedomolydeciatic Contriptcalusia Syndrpopolocitis. OP, I'm afraid I'll have to go in with the SWAB! Now just relax. This won't hurt a bit!

by Anonymousreply 45November 21, 2022 5:38 PM

r43 when you have a Tortion/Detortion there isn't anything in the ultrasound. Your ball untangled itself, so they won't see anything. That doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Bring it up with your Doctor, please. I'm not saying anything will necessarily be done, but when there's a tortion that isn't fixing itself, they go in and place two stitches to keep the ball from moving around inside and tangling again.

They will only ever diagnose based on what they SEE. If they can't see the tortion, they'll tell you it couldn't have possibly happened. IT COULD HAVE.

Knowing you're prone to this kind of thing speeds up the process if it ever happens again. Talk with your doctor about it. Trust!

by Anonymousreply 47November 21, 2022 6:20 PM

OP I hope you don't listen to about 99% of the "advice" in this thread.

by Anonymousreply 48November 21, 2022 6:21 PM

Lithotrypsy for kidney stones, firecracker therapy for testicular torsion.

by Anonymousreply 49November 21, 2022 6:24 PM

I want everything in your moss-covered family gredunza....

by Anonymousreply 50November 21, 2022 6:26 PM

Do you often go commando or wear boxers OP? I used to when I was much younger. My right nut developed an ache after an hour or so of freeballing. It felt like an uncomfortable tugging sensation. It didn't help that my nuts are larger than most and my scrotum just reels out more fabric.

Turns out I have varicocele, an enlargement of the veins within my scrotum. Mayo Clinic describes one of the symptoms as "Pain. A dull, aching pain or discomfort is more likely when standing or late in the day. Lying down often relieves pain." If your nutsack feels like a bag of worms, you likely have varicocele.

I've worn either briefs, boxer briefs or trunks ever since. The boys need to be comfortably suspended to avoid the dull ache.

by Anonymousreply 51November 21, 2022 6:57 PM

FYI: For those of you writing "tortion", it's "torsion".

by Anonymousreply 52November 21, 2022 6:59 PM

Hold my nutsack, David…I’m scared.

by Anonymousreply 53November 21, 2022 7:09 PM

R51, that’s exactly what I had. I couldn’t remember the word ‘varicocele’ but that’s what was going on with me. I have rather big nuts and a big sack that hangs way down and my left nut feels more like a bag of worms. 🙁

Glad I’m not alone.

by Anonymousreply 54November 21, 2022 11:51 PM

R52 FYI, see R6. The others were the same misinformed person.

by Anonymousreply 55November 21, 2022 11:54 PM

I misspelled torsion. Sue me. That doesn't make me misinformed. I'm actually trying to provide some helpful information here.

Separate note, but Doctors these days can really be shitty. If something isn't exactly like they heard about in a textbook, they treat you like you're crazy for saying "um no...I'm sure something's wrong!" and just reply with "you read too much online!" or "I'm the Doctor, you're fine, you're paranoid!"

I wasn't alive 50 years ago, but I wonder if Doctors then were more thorough and caring.

by Anonymousreply 56November 22, 2022 12:15 AM

R54: Since you mention the "big sack" do you also suffer from Angiokeratoma Fordyce (AF)? Seems like AF frequently crops up whenever varicocele has been around a while.

Was gonna add an image but didn't wanna spoil anyone's dinner.

by Anonymousreply 57November 22, 2022 12:22 AM

No, R57, thankfully I do not.
