Chris Pratt: What’s the appeal?

I'm no longer a fan, but his rise to stardomwas incredible: moving from schlubby supporting roles in B and C list projects and then becoming the breakout star of PARKS & REC, as the funny, goofy, chubby guy....

Then getting jacked and seriously HOT for ZERO DARK 30 and surprise blockbuster, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: then the LEGO MOVIE, JURASSIC WORLD, and his place in the MCU.

As I said, I no longer care for him or his movies. But the combo of goofy, self-deprecating humor and stealth sexiness was very appealing for a while.

Too bad the actual Chris got in the way.

Many people find him attractive. Honest answer. And popular actor beats out good actor that doesn't sell tickets.

As for the religious thing, I don't think he's lying as much as saying he was never the fundie type.

In addition to Parks & Rec, he was also good in that Brad Pitt baseball movie (can't remember the name). He had kind of basic white boy "ah shucks" appeal. But now everyone hates him, especially Arnie & Maria, two people who know a bad marriage when they see one

He was terrible in "Her" and even in the low-impact "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurassic Park" reboot he's barely functional as an actor. I don't know what people see in him. The charisma he had when he was younger disappeared the second he got big roles, and now he's always too self-conscious on screen and in interviews, and he takes himself too seriously.

I did enjoy watching his beefy ass getting spanked while he's fucking James McAvoy's girlfriend in "Wanted".

I think he is attractive. Or was. Finding out he was a Republican sickens me.

I think he fit into the MCU on the Paul Rudd/Tom Holland level of being a guy who wasn't supernaturally good-looking but had a boy-next-door feel and seemed like a fun person to hang out with. He was perfectly acceptable in the Guardians movies.

I loved him in Jurassic World, still do even though I know what a piece of shit he is. It's taken some time but I've learnt to separate an actor from his role. It's really Owen Grady I find hot, he just happens to have Chris Pratt playing him. I don't mind him in The Guardians of the Galaxy since he's capable enough in comedy. However GotG films are the only MCU films I haven't watched multiple times.

It was the cat thing with his then wife that made me see his true colors.

I think he's the best looking actor around. He's had very clever work on his face, has a great bod, very charming, I don't know anything about his personal life or his personality, but I would like to look like him. He could carry Jurassic park. Didn't care enough to see the second one though. Didn't see anything else with him. Oh, wait , I sax a guardian of the galaxy, he was great. He's handsome, in great shape, and he seems like a nice guy.

I' a huge movie lover and I've had to learn to separate the actors' real life personalities from the movies they are in. If I didn't do this I would have boycotted all the recent Mission: Impossible movies which are, IMO, really excellent spy/adventure movies, far outshining the recent Bond movies in action pieces and story. Unfortunately, those movies are not going to be available starring other actors any time soon so there's no choice for me.

Check out the Guardian’s Christmas Special to see his appeal. He looks the best there, especially when he has his hands on his face, like Macaulay Culkin, in shock of the Christmas lights.
