Any word from Reba?

Reba’s statement:

‘In the early 90s, I saw female impersonator Coti Collins / David Lowman impersonating me as part of the Cowboys LaCage show in downtown Nashville. He was incredible. When we were coming up with ideas for our 1996 tour, we decided to take David on the road with us to help with the "Fancy" trick in the show. He would appear on one end of the stage lip synching to my live vocal and then pyrotechnics would shoot down the length of the stage and I would pop up on the other end in my red dress on a lever that would fly me over the audience. We've stayed in contact ever since and I was so saddened to hear about his passing this week. We recently had the chance to visit for a few moments and I am so glad we did. Rest in peace, David.’

I love that she stated "female impersonator" vs. "Drag Queen" distancing Coti from the Ru Paul zoo. Coti was pure class,

I did not know David well, but our paths crossed over the years. He was a sweet guy, much nicer than most drag queens.

I’m surprised no one in the comments was correcting her on pronouns, even though David didn’t care.

I love Reba for taking him on tour and for acknowledging his passing. She's a good person.

I saw Coti perform at a drag show about 7 months ago. I had never seen or heard of him before the show since I don't really follow drag too closely, but I remember thinking "That Reba impersonator sure is skinny. I wonder if he's sick." Then sure enough, towards the end of the show, he stood up and gave a speech about how he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and that doctors gave him a very short time to live, but he exceeded that time. And how grateful he was to still be alive at that point and able to perform. It made me tear up. He seemed like a very lovely person.

r10 the only people who think drag queens have "she" pronouns are Republicans or very confused heteros.

I know there are a few trans drag queens but the vast majority are gay men.

Bootleg video, but you can hear the crowd absolutely lose it. Reba was doing things on tour in the 90s that Madonna and the others didn’t even do until later. Her tours were regularly the only woman in the top 10 box score numbers. The one Coti was on was her biggest.
