I agree, OP. This season is pretty bad. Its boring and I have a hard time thinking of Dominic West as King Charles or Imelda Staunton as the Queen. Same thing for Jonathan Price. Although he's grown on me a bit. Who's writing this horror?

I think Emma Corrin was much better in the Princess Diane roll than Debeki. Instead of seeing our beloved Diane, all I can see is an overstretched Anne Heche (RIP). I wonder if Anne Heche could have done a good Diane? She's had all the features.

I wouldn't have watched any of The Crown had the theme music not drawn me in. The Charles & Dianer story has been told to death and beyond, down to the gauge of her magic enema nozzles.

There's also the factor that wins actors Oscars: aping the voice and mannerisms and hairdos of the not so very long dead is weighed.much more heavily than the story or the acting, etc.
