R4 it's "I got your number, hussy."
Only five words, and yet.....

What in the heck is that song "Deja Vu" about? It's a nice arrangement which lightly invokes a bit of a Brasilian vibe but the lyrics are trite. "Do you remember me. do you remember me, Deja Vu..." Does the protagonist have Deja Vu? Are they perhaps named Deja Vu?
Speaking of Brasil. Lady Dionne of Warwick supposedly has a home there and I bet she's there now. Her weed crop is probably at harvest time.

She’s too busy embarrassing herself and running from the IRS.

She recently posted on her Twitter about the death of Brazilian singer Gal Costa. I guess she's not canceling her account.

Kinda weird, but Dionne really evokes memories of my late parents. I am only 43 and they died at the ages of 43 and 66.
In the early 80's, when I was just a very little boy, I always remember my dad playing Dionne before they would have guests over.. And Deja Vu was the standout. To me it sounded very adult and elegant.
I always thought that Olivia, Dionne, Carly Simon, John Denver, Peter Paul and Mary, and Linda Ronstadt were the epitome of being adults. And Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow. AND The Carpenters.
My parents had NO edge and it was pure 60's and 70's and early 80's POP music in my house before I was 7 years old!
That music is deep within my subconscious and holds a good place in my heart.

Set your DVR's hussies, Miss Warwick's official documentary chronicling her life, "Don't Make Me Over", will air on CNN on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, at 9 p.m., with limited commercial interruption.
Prepare to be inundated with the ads on CNN throughout the holiday season, bitches.

Thankfully, I don't have cable. This eventually will turn up for streaming on HBO.

I'm sure Miss Warwick is enjoying a deluxe room at the Red Roof Inn as she prepares for a show in some lovely alcove of America, like East Kabumfucke, Iowa.

I’m the biggest Connie Francis fan, but have to give Warwick the edge on all things Bacharach. Cf’s version of Do YouKnow the Way to San Jose (my city) does nothing for me.

In an interview, she said she'd like to receive a Kennedy Center Honor.
In 2022, George Clooney, Amy Grant, Gladys Knight, and U2 received KCHs.
It's a travesty that Dionne has not yet received a KCH.
She's talented as hell and we are lucky she's still alive.

r22 I agree I thought the same thing seeing the ceremony in December she definitely needs one in 2023

Thanks, R23. One of my family members is a musician. He's been around Dionne and worked with people who worked with DW. Apparently, she's no picnic. Still, I have a soft spot for her. My mom listened to her albums - the Burt Bacharach era. So many beautiful songs from that time: Alfie, Valley of the Dolls, to name two.
Here's a really nice live performance of Alfie.
In some performances (not this one), she places the microphone almost at her waist. Her voice is so powerful that she can sing that far from the mic.

The documentary was good. They didn't get into Ms. Dionne's Psychic Friends Network and tax evasion eras while living in Brazil, but oh well! 🤷🏽♂️
