Most people are unaware of the full implications of the trans issue, so most are not voting on the basis of it. People's vote is influenced by the gender ideology issue when it becomes a live issue that they can see affecting them, e.g. the voters of North Virginia who voted for Glenn Youngkin because the Loudon County schoolboard was allowing male students into the girls' school bathrooms and one male student had repeatedly assaulted girls as a result. Or in Florida, where the trans cultists made a really big push (see Jazz Jennings, a closeted young gay man who hates what was done to his body and the state where Dr Teetus Deletus was active) and the governor's stand against the mutilation of children simply because they are "gender nonconforming" has won him great support.
