DC releases a comic anthology for Pride every June. This year, the centerpiece was an autobiographical story from him about struggles as a gay actor and how it shaped his identity as Batman.

High recommend.

I met him when he did Midsummer in the Park in the early 80's. He was HAF!

I grew up on Batman:TAS and a few years ago tracked down all the DVD sets so I could have them to watch whenever I wanted, and also started following some Batman: TAS accounts on social media. Conroy had been looking ill for a few years, I don't know what was wrong (and it was never revealed, the best I can tell) but he kept going to cons and working when he could. Just seemed like a great guy on all levels, really cared about his work and his fans. I'm so sorry to hear he died. A very sad day.

To me he's been the single best actor to play Batman.

I will also add: I have a gay friend who is a television journalist who said interviewing Kevin Conroy was always a joy (he did it more than once), and that he was a charming and funny man but also mature, reflective, and thoughtful.
