R57, it would have been handled differently in most cases. Of course by 1973 Roe v Wade had been issued so abortion was legal. The issue would have been if the girl had gotten pregnant, but even then, the guy often paid for the abortion. Even if the parents found out, typically, they did not go to the police unless there had been coercion to the point of rape and she had been injured. Most of the time parents never knew. And women dealt with it differently. You might have had regrets or thought the guy was an asshole, but you certainly weren't going to sue him and have a press conference.

Part of the appeal of the old D was the fact that pretty much all threads veered off topic. Most of those threads were actually more interesting than the original topics. There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. You are just another tedious DL control freak.

I disagree, R420. I'm older than you and teens in the 70's were treated very, VERY differently than teenagers these days.

I'm not going to go into chapter and verse, suffice it to say that being born in the late 60's you weren't really there. There's no point in arguing it. I was there and teens (both gay and straight) were doing a lot more fucking with adults in the 70's than they did once AIDS came to town in the 80's. That brought a new Puritanism that we didn't have to deal with in the 70's. Yes, of course there were parents who were more conservative but most parents were just inattentive to where their teens were going and what they were doing.

For those of you who go insane over 14 and 15 year olds having sex, avert your gaze. It happened a lot, it wasn't traumatic and we managed to grow up into educated, healthy and productive citizens anyway. Hurrah.
