He's from Boston area. May have spent some time in NYC as a kid, but he makes references to growing up in Massachusetts.
Listen to his accent on some of his interviews and you'll definitely hear a Boston accent coming through now and then.

His time in NYC occurred immediately after he graduated from high school (in Grafton, MA). That would have been ca. 2005. He stayed there a couple of years, then went back to MA. He then relocated to L.A. around 2009, and got the gig on The Price Is Right there in 2012.
