The Dutch royal women have always been shaped like potatoes crossed with Cabbage Patch kids; Maxima’s gene could only do so much lifting but they pulled off an amazing feat: the Orange girls are all beautiful.

The oldest girl is big and statuesque. Hopefully, she doesn’t feel pressure to go against her natural body shape. Properly tailored clothing and styles that suit her body type will do wonders for her.

She’s never going to be tiny and should embrace it; there’s already been princesses with public eating disorders and one is dead and the other married the help.

What's weird about that photo is that everyone in it whether 'fat' or not is trying to obscure their bodies-- posing at an angle, hiding behind each other, draping coats/jackets over themselves.

I think Amalia always tucks behind the largest stationary object out of embarrassment, not of her ample proportions but because people keep using words like Royal and Princess and she’s the only one who knows what year it is. She has the appropriate amount of shame. I’d be embarrassed too.

The Dutch royals always look like they’ve been styled by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Industrial amounts of beautiful fabric draped over historic structures for the public to gawk at.

No one is ever going to tip over the queen or any of her daughters in a hurry. At the same time, they are not obese.

Maxima and Willem are both big, tall, solid, kinds of humans, who'd probably chunk way up if they let themselves. Okay, Willem's already on the hefty side, but he'd probably be a lot heftier if he weren't in the public eye.

So the girls are on the big side, tall and solid, and nothing could ever make them willowy except the last stages of an eating disorder. Look at Maxima, there's no fat on her but she's big-framed and solid, and her daughters aren't old enough to have the discipline to keep their weights down to the absolute minimum consistent with health. At this point in their lives, it's better if they aren't pressured to lose too much weight, that way lies eating disorders.

When she ascends will it become the the House of Orange Pork?
