I don't get the allure of most men of yesteryear but young Marlon Brando melts me. Gorgeous and delicious.

Marlon was one of the most talented actors ever. He also had a lot of pain and struggle throughout his life. Despite that, he had a good heart, which is hard to encounter in Hollywood. At a time when gay people were oppressed beyond belief, they identified with his struggles and he theirs.

Young Brando was a looker, but I was never a fan of his acting. He refused to rehearse -or on some films, even to read the script. He would write his lines on cards, hidden around the set, and read from them during filming. He said it was to "maintain spontaneity" but I think it was just self-indulgence. In the end, I think he became a parody of himself.

I think Brando had a contemporary look that would be considered attractive until today. A lot of other sex symbols are products of their time. Guys like Brando and Newman are timeless. Unfortunately, Brando let his looks go way too early.
