I know both are bad for you but is pie slightly less unhealthy?
Is pie healthier than cake?

Is pie healthier than cake? It's dessert. Who cares?
I'll take a buttercream icing yellow cake anytime. Unless it's an extremely healthy apple pie with melted cheddar cheese on top. Maybe with a bit of whipped cream.

Pie is much worse for you than cake.
Pies tend to have much more sugar in the filling and much more fat/lard in the crust than an average cake would have.
But you don't eat either one for health reasons, so...

A piece of pie with a slice of cake on top ... a la Mode.
Now that's good eatin'.

Probably. If the pie is a fruit-filled, cherry, apple, blackberry, pumpkin It would have to be more than just fruit-flavored.

Who cares pie is superior than overrated cake.

I think it's harder to buy a cake that has a nice cake-y taste. They all just taste sweet with a hit of the flavor they're supposed to be. But a bad pie is still pretty good. On the whole, if you they're not home made, neither is all that good or good for you.

Pie usually has fruit in it. You can pretend it's healthier.

R8, you don't have to be so judgemental and critical about pie.

I make apple pies and use Stevia and leave the skin on. I make the crust with butter and not with Crisco or lard. It’s a much healthier option.

Healthier in terms of fewer calories or less sugar? I’m pretty sure the answer is “no.”

I don’t understand the question and I refuse to answer it.
