DIPPITY DO!

It holds!

I've never quite understood why men chose to use oil, rather than a men's version of Dippity Do after it was introduced in 1965.

For years, they used to have to put covers on headrests because men leaning back would leave an oil stain. Hair oil, like Don Draper used, made a huge mess.

"Gel" didn't start hitting big until the 80s preppy look came in - which was essentially a throwback to the 1960s slicked back styles.
