Um....How have we not discussed this? Ole Scottie dishes the dirt on the sexual escapades of Tinseltown's most glamorous bygone stars, including Roman Navarro, Judith Anderson, Kate Hepburn, Bette Davis, Cary Grant, and so many more. Yikes! And it's on Hulu!
The Scotty Bowers documentary is DATALOUNGE CATNIP
by Anonymous | reply 86 | March 28, 2023 9:25 PM |
It's mostly fiction.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 27, 2022 10:37 PM |
We've mostly discussed it a 1000 times 🙄
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 27, 2022 10:44 PM |
R1 I believe every word of it. There's more. Much more, much much more, going on in Hollywood. And we are talking mostly just sex and sexcapades here. You don't want to know what goes on with money.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 27, 2022 11:00 PM |
The book was better
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 27, 2022 11:08 PM |
I'd only be interested in anything about MSM.

One's pimp.

R8 Edward, shut up, you insufferable poof! You know you're only allowed to talk when I give you permission to do so!

Yes, pussy.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 28, 2022 12:30 AM |
Somehow he seems to be less sleazy and Epstein. Maybe it's the joy with which he reveled in his pimpery - is that a word?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 28, 2022 5:15 AM |
Scotty comes off much better in the book than in the documentary.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 28, 2022 5:20 AM |
He seems like a lothario in the doc.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 28, 2022 5:48 PM |
Yeah, he seemed like a sweet guy in the documentary, just very up-front and blissfully free of any guilt or shame about his sexcapades.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 28, 2022 6:01 PM |
He was passed around by pedophile priests in Chicago, and he seems incredibly forgiving and even happy about the experiences in the film.

I would like to know if Gary Cooper is involved

The real truths about gay Hollywood are locked away in the papers of Roddy McDowall.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 31, 2022 1:09 AM |
And where are the papers of Roddy McDowall?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 31, 2022 1:40 AM |
To R20. I believe they will be published 100 yrs after Roddy McDowall death!! When everyone who is in the book are DEAD!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 31, 2022 1:45 AM |
R20, his personal records are locked away. They won't be released for about 100 years, or so. I could be wrong.

Scotty Bowers described in his book a deep longing for affection and guidance from his father. Instead a pedo neighbor gave the young boy direction, attention, and then continued grooming him for his own selfish needs.
Life for Scotty became a tradeoff to get his basic needs met, solidified during the Depression.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 31, 2022 2:58 AM |
He also loved sex. A LOT.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 31, 2022 11:05 PM |
His film was available on Tubi a few weeks ago, I laughed so hard about his description of Tom Ewell.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 31, 2022 11:23 PM |
He was complex. He was a bisexual combat veteran who hustled Hollywood royalty and got a magazine about cats.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 31, 2022 11:29 PM |
It paid off, his boyfriend left him a few homes out there that are priceless. If you're going to whore, get paid. I was confused about the ashes of the boyfriend being dumped in his backyard.

Op it was shit, and he was messy.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 31, 2022 11:31 PM |
Scotty had a cute body. And he enjoyed the sex where the man go up into the man.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 31, 2022 11:36 PM |
Is this documentary the basis for the Ryan Murphy "Hollywood" miniseries with Patti Lupone, Darren Criss, Jim Parsons. It was pretty good.

R30, that’s not Bowers.

R37 This Hollywood Babylon? It doesn't seem to be about homosexuality
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 23, 2023 1:38 PM |
Hollywood Babylon is moistly inaccurate or made up, but it's a great and salacious read!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 23, 2023 1:55 PM |
More mostly, but some parts might make you moist!
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 23, 2023 1:55 PM |
We have. And it’s not fiction. Some of us have known all this since the 1970s- have known some of Scotty’s “team” and who and how they we “employed” by a number of folks both famous and not. Scotty fiercely protected the privacy of his clients until his book and he only spoke about deceased customers. By the way, Scotty was not a pimp. He did not take a cut. And he quit facilitating hookups when HIV started. Thereafter he was more or less a handy man, fixer, bartender etc. He was literally loved by almost all who he served and worked with. Troll on these threads I assume are uptight prudes who think his revelations are somehow scandalous. Hardly- just fun. Truly a character perhaps to a certain extent acting out issues from his past, one surviving the war in the Pacific. But his services were benign and gave pleasure and fun to adults who had to lead double lives in very different times. His story is both informative of his time and a hoot.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 23, 2023 2:07 PM |
r39 Hollywood Babylon may not be very gay, but its author Kenneth Anger is very, very gay.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 23, 2023 2:09 PM |
There is also the Derwin Porter “Hollywood Babylon Strikes Back” books that is gayer. It’s also trash.

[quote] He was passed around by pedophile priests in Chicago, and he seems incredibly forgiving and even happy about the experiences in the film.
Tragic. But I guess he dealt with the trauma in the healthiest way he could, becoming a guilt-free sex worker. He clearly felt that physical companionship was his gift/skill.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 26, 2023 1:03 PM |
[quote] I had no idea he was a hoarder. Those houses/garages were disgusting.
A lifetime of sublimating and ignoring childhood trauma.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 26, 2023 1:06 PM |
I read on a gossip site in 2004 about how a Hollywood pimp set Katharine Hepburn up with scores of young blonde WASPish women and I dismissed it as bullshit. That was a long time before Scotty came out with the revelations, so yes, I believe him.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 26, 2023 1:20 PM |
An interesting story and disturbing too. The dude was loaded and lived in a hoard with his elderly wife who complains about the hazardous conditions.
On camera, he cleans out a storage unit and retrieves the ashes of a onetime companion.
Because the cameras are on, Bowers disposes of the remains on his main property through a hole on his sundeck!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 26, 2023 1:29 PM |
The documentary is streaming on TUBI. It is an interesting film. I was less interested in his Hollywood hookups and more interested in his story which is unique and uniquely disturbing.
But I had no idea Tom Ewell was gay until I watched this film.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 26, 2023 1:35 PM |
Uniquely disturbing? Oh hun, it was Hollywood. If the geezers left from Old Hollywood spoke honestly about that period in time they'd all tell the same story.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 26, 2023 1:42 PM |
R49, not only that, Corbin Berson, if I remember right, had been fighting for the ashes of his relative and Scotty just dumped them down a hole in the deck.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | March 26, 2023 1:46 PM |
That is what I mean, r52. It was the most outrageous moment in a salacious film and a middle finger to Corbin Bernsen. Ashes can be divided which allows people to have their own ceremony with their portion. The dispute was about money, not the remains. Corbin Bernsen asked for a large sum of money from the estate to dispose of the remains. Bowers refused and then tossed the ashes out from his backyard deck!
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 26, 2023 1:54 PM |
R51, you haven't seen the film yet, have you?
it is streaming for free on the Tubi channel.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 26, 2023 1:55 PM |
Did he out any other woman besides Katherine Hepburn?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 26, 2023 4:26 PM |
I listened to the audiobook, lots more fun details. I tend to believe most of it. But I'm a little wary of his tales about Kinsey - being a procurer for the esteemed doctor.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 26, 2023 11:14 PM |
The house seen in the documentary was owned by Corbin Bernson who inherited it from his godfather, Beach Dickinson, with the condition that Scotty could live there until his death,14 years after Dickinson died.
It looks a helluva lot better now. Or rather, in 2020:
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 26, 2023 11:57 PM |
But I'm a little wary of his tales about Kinsey - being a procurer for the esteemed doctor.
Gore Vidal had a letter he kept from Kinsey that he wrote to Vidal after Kinsey had read The City And The Pillar, thanking him for his 'work in the field'.
The City And The Pillar is touted as the first modern novel about same sex relationships. Vidal and Bowers were good friends.
Kinsey befriended a lot of dubious characters in his quest for information and research. Middle American prudes weren't going to open up about their sexual habits!
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 27, 2023 1:14 PM |
So was he bi? Since he had a threesome with Lana Turner and Ava Gardner
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 27, 2023 4:19 PM |
A perfect Kinsey 3.

Bless Scotty for blowing the lid off. Now release and publish Roddy Mcdowall's memoirs.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 27, 2023 10:53 PM |
Scotty was no saint. He used to rent out that room behind the filling station for people to have sex. Then he drilled holes in the wall and charged people to watch the ones inside the room having sex.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 28, 2023 12:47 AM |
Ask any of the still-living older hustlers (and other showbiz latch-ons) in WeHo about Scotty and they'll all swear to his sincerity. He had little reason to make this shit up. And a good deal of it had been an open secret (or at least an openly observed one) by many for decades these circles.
They also will tell you what a prince that guy was to all. No agenda, no grifting. Just a real pal to all. Though he clearly had his demons (whether he ever knew that himself or not)
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 28, 2023 12:55 AM |
I was okay until he dumped Beach's ashes down through a hole in the deck.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 28, 2023 1:54 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 28, 2023 7:56 AM |
R65 The word was out , they came to him. She's described as a rather unpleasant person in the book. With bad skin.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | March 28, 2023 10:50 AM |
An old friend of mine who worked in the production side of the movie industry from back in the day told me once that most Hollywood movie stars, back when they actually had real movie stars, had little interest in being with other movie stars when they got horny. For one reason because celebrities tended to have big mouths and wanted to tell others about the all the other movie stars they've had sex with. When they got their horns on they wanted 'street meat', some everyday hottie who just wanted to fuck like a wild animal, not listen to some other movie star's moanings about how the industry mistreated someone as fabulous as them.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 28, 2023 11:09 AM |
R66 Can you elaborate on why she came across as an unpleasant person? I haven't read the book.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 28, 2023 11:52 AM |
In private she was a bull dyke. Most BDs are not particularly pleasant people. I guess it's all the male hormones raging in their system, or they think acting rough and agggressive makes them appear more masculine.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 28, 2023 1:06 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 74 | March 28, 2023 5:44 PM |
Who had bad skin? The trick or the client?
The film includes a few photos of the hustlers, they were all average looking including one female. Bowers was the most attractive in his group with a big, American open face.
In the film, Bowers identified one of his hustlers as a nice kid who wasn't cut out for the work, who was rescued by Clint Eastwood.
Bowers does not say or imply Clint Eastwood is gay or a former client.
He said, a former hustler, who wasn't interested in whoring quickly left the game and became a part of Clint Eastwoods entourage.
