Personally, I get along best with women who have a dirty sense of humor.
Do you prefer straight men or straight women as friends?

Women, straight men outside your family can't be trusted.

Men, of course.

One of my best friends is an asexual woman (formerly straight but got fed up with it all) who is cool, witty, and warmhearted. And a great cook.

I'm a gay man.
It depends on the person. Straight people, men and women though, have been far more kinder to me, than gay men have been, overall.

^Maybe because you’re ugly. Are you getting laid at all?

R8 may have a point. As a gold star, I have been treated the most shabbily by gay men, followed by bisexual women, then straight men and women tied. Other lesbians have been nicest to me, and weirdly enough bisexual men.

R11 speaks the absolute truth.

Women. Most straight males are thoroughly unpleasant.

Get along very well with straight men and lesbians.
Straight women and gay men on a person-by-person basis - some are great and have been great friends, others I feel like we are from two different planets.

I vibe more with straight dudes.

I'm a lesbian whose friends are mostly gay men and other lesbians. My closest friend is a straight guy; he's one of the few who hasn't interpreted my sexuality as a challenge. Even then, things have gotten weird a couple times.

R16 girl I know. What is wrong with these trophy-hunting men? It’s like even a hard pass doesn’t register with them, and they’re too entitled to respect a boundary. And it seems like every lesbian or women-leaning bi has a horror story about it.
How has yours made things weird?

R17, he's careful not to overstep boundaries but has drunkenly made accusatory (and enlightening) remarks about every woman being bisexual but me. And he's gotten severely mopey and resentful a couple times about my romantic relationships.
It wasn't in the normal friendship way of feeling pushed aside; there was something deeper going on. He later apologized for making his issues my problem. Sometimes I've wondered if straight women with unrequited crushes on gay men aren't better at masking their disappointment, but then I've known some who weren't too subtle.
