I too was astonished when I found out how old she was in Mickey. I was dating a cutie named Mickey during that time,and he loathed that song with a passion !

I was a cheerleader dating a basketball player named Mickey. He was hot too!

The music video was directed, produced and choreographed by Basil herself. The cheerleaders featured in the video were members of a championship squad from Carson High School in Carson, California. Those cheerleaders are all quite big compared to Toni.

Toni appears to like the ladies. Never married.

I love all 1980s "name songs". Amanda (Boston), Sara (Starship), Suzanne (Journey), Joanna (Kool and the Gang), Valerie (Steve Winwood), Rosanna (Toto), Carrie (Europe), Billie Jean (MJ), Angelia (Richard Marx), Jack & Diane (Mellencamp).

Which came first, “Mickey” or “ Jessie’s Girl”? Both songs jumped out of the radio and made my gay, fat little 10-year-old self very happy. Of course, my family ridiculed me for it (they’d go on to ridicule everything I like) but those 2 songs pretty much introduced me to the wonderful world of pop music - wonderful escape from my dreary existence.
