All of them, but not all of them? Get your story straight, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 17, 2022 9:59 PM |
Well, duh.
Of course they are - especially the ones that don’t work and are use to just being handed their hubby’s credit card for the day to day.
Now they are being told they can’t spend money at Bloomingdales - if they just shop they better go to TJ Maxx - and they better stick to the clearance racks. Their hubby’s are scrutinizing the monthly Amex bills and arguments erupt at the beginning of the month when the mortgage payment is due
The other group - the ones that actually work for a living are trying to budget what little they have l- just so they can afford groceries for the kids. They can’t even buy the kids cereal because even that’s too expensive nowadays. That, plus higher gas prices, to fuel their over priced over mileage used beaters has them on the brink. Listening to Pete tell them just to buy an 80k electric car doesn’t help things.
Their only recourse is to vote red Down ticket and pray they can get their old life back.
I don’t blame them one bit,

The Left doesn’t have very nice messaging for women. If you’re white and complain about anything, you’re a Karen. If you don’t want a skirted man in your womens-only space, you’re a bigot. If you don’t want violent men released from prison you’re a racist. If you want to stay home and raise children you’re a lazy freeloader.
And if you resent ANY of the above messaging you’re a Boris.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 18, 2022 12:50 AM |
R25 Truth hurts, Boris. We all KNOW Russian trolls invade this thread around election times to sharpen their messaging for other, more visible SM. Block you all and it is CLEAR.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 18, 2022 12:51 AM |
Actually r19 - abortion is actually classified as a boutique issue at the moment. It’s not as big of a deal as you may think. States rights and all that.. all the Supreme Court did was pass it back to the states. Most people recognize this despite the push to make it the main be all end all of the democrats campaign.
People care WAY more about the economy. It’s the number one issue. If you think abortion, trans issues and teaching CRT in elementary school is - you’re in fantasy land.
And when you have an administration that decides to change the definition of a recession ... even though it’s as clear as day that we are in one - People get tired of the gaslighting. They are worried about paying their bills - They don’t want to be told everything is great when it isn’t. They are sick of being lied to.
If you’re referring to us losing our constitutional rights - we won’t lose them. That being said people are damn tired of being made to feel like they can’t have or them. They can’t dare have their right to free speech, right to privacy, right to assembly, right to bear arms, rights to religion etc.. or the one relating to abortion - the 10th amendment - Rights reserved to states.
And there goes r26 on cue... the Boris bot.

Twitter is buzzing every day with “Lee Zeldin” trending. He’s going to win! He’s pulling ahead! The governor’s mansion in Albany is within reach! He’s going to pull it off! Newsmax, NY Post, Washington Examiner, Fox News and other extreme conservative media are crowing about the last minute victory Zeldin is going to whip out of his magician’s hat.
Meanwhile, he’s 12 points behind.
There’s some kind of deviltry afoot. Why are they spending money claiming Zeldin has a snowball’s chance in hell? This is some fuckery that suggests they’re going to try to claim the election was “stolen” because Zeldin was “so close to victory” before the election.
Complete nonsense is being disseminated on social media where dumbass republicans get most of their news.

I find it hilarious that this poster and others imagine that one poster is "the Boris troll" or "the Boris accuser." How dumb do you have to be to think that? It's a DL trope. It's like the posters who think there's only one "grammar troll" making all of the "Oh. dear" comments.

When you talk about crime and mayhem - Please see New York’s Cashless bail law... just as one example.
Keep preaching “defund the police” - we see how that turned out. Don’t forget the crime and mayhem summer of 2020 that was encouraged and celebrated by the Democratic Party..
stop acting like they are so worried about your safety - they aren’t. And they certainly don’t care about your wallet.
Republicans don’t care either - but at this point the dems are worse. They have become the party of the wealthy and are proud of it.

R86 - have you been to a grocery store lately? Imagine shopping not just for yourself, But a few kids as well.
Do you know the price of eggs? Do you know how many boxes of cereal 3 kids can go through in a week?
Have you heard about that little thing called inflation? Topped with soaring energy bills and gas?
Do you think people’s salary is increasing inline with inflation? It isn’t.
Do you know it’s now costing the average family an additional 750 A MONTH due to the rising costs of necessities? Many of these families already live paycheck to paycheck.
Stop being gleefully ignorant.
People ARE really suffering right now - they are scared, you’re ignorance isn’t cute. You actually come across as an asshole.

R88 Even a working class person can afford a bag of off-brand cereal and you'll never convince me otherwise. The people who can't afford cereal are already living in their cars, people who are living in intense poverty not your tired Susie Everywoman character. You're spinning a dramatic tale of Great Depression-style misery because that's the current GOP party line. Things aren't half as bad as you're pretending. Before you accuse me of being out of touch: I don't make much money, I live in a terrible city and I go to the store fives times a week. The Republican Party can no longer win free and fair elections. And they know that.
So they work the angle that's worked best for them over the years - fearmongering. More specifically, fearmongering over bullshit made-up culture wars nonsense amplified by their own propaganda channel. Slave reparations, trans issues, gay rights, kitty litter, nonbinary Mr. Potato heads, doesn't matter if it makes sense. If it scares enough of the rubes, they can get an election close enough so they can fuck with vote totals. Every GOP accusation is a confession.

Seems plausible to me that this is just a sign that many women who identify as Independent but for whom abortion would be a deal breaker have realigned with Democrats.
The thing about categories like this is that they're CATEGORIES. Independents are generally split because those who lean significantly one way are more likely to just join the party they affiliate with.
