What is going on with Paula Deen?

Pretty sure she's a drunk. Before the pandemic and her cancellation, she had a rep for showing up sloshed to public appearances.

I never know whether to feel happy or sad for Paula when I see her in her current role as YouTube food personality. Her cooking videos look like they were made on a phone. Where she used to have her own lines of cookware, furniture, and food products she's now selling refrigerator magnets and dishtowels on her website. The restaurants seem to be thriving, at least, under management by Jamie and Bobby. She was able to keep her big house, but the husband is working a job so unless he's doing it just to keep busy they might need the extra cash.

So maybe they're hustling to keep the empire together, or maybe they're rolling in dough and just dicking around on the internet for something to do. Who can say?

Is Paula still doing "plantation themed" events? I think she should cater the next RNC event.

I went to her restaurant in Nashville. The food was awful. It had a really weird aftertaste.

I was watching ShopHQ the other morning, they were showing a Paula Deen crockpot with replaceable internal crocks and frau designer covers. One of the hosts said “We’re offering a great on these because Paula is retiring and she would want you all to have a great deal on these items.”

Not sure how true that is, but Paula D. might start drooling with Baba Wawa in a few years.

We were searching for the best southern food we could get our hands on when we visited Savannah some years ago. Lady & Sons (Paula's restaurant) had the LEAST exciting food in the city. I nibbled on the complimentary hoecakes (meh) and really only enjoyed the mint julip I ordered. The rest of the food was nothing to write home about. We actually liked Pirates' House better.
