Are these people completely insane? There are children going hungry in the UK and they engage in this sort of execrable behaviour by throwing perfectly good milk away? I'm sorry for saying this, as I have never favoured police brutality, but these overprivileged, desperately self-centered and embarrassingly miopic cretins, deserve to have their skulls bashed in and spend a couple of nights in a cell. Seriously, how selfish can some people be?

Stock farming also means that land is properly maintained, managed and cared for in England's greenest counties, care and attention that would lapse were the farms to disappear overnight. And say you do outlaw dairy farming; what the fuck do these little creeps propose we do with all the stock? I was there for Foot & Mouth, and I remember the smell of the bonfires, smoking corpses of hundreds of poor cows & sheep.

So let's have a sit down and rethink, plant-based brats.

Could maybe see their point if they were specifically protesting the mistreatment and abuse of cows milked industrially, and calling for reform (not banning) to better care for the cows and their offspring in ways not as punishing or dependent on hormones, electric prods, battery-farming etc. There's a lot needs to be done to audit some of these places and make sure that animal abuse is not going on.

But that's not what this is. It's just about pushing people on milk alternatives created by harvesting foreign planets & nuts with a massive footprint, which further desertify and nutrient-strip soils while calling for diverted irrigation from rivers, and increase emissions to process. Good one.

This isn’t correct R21. Farming (or the modern version of farming) is damaging to the environment, run off into rivers, destruction of woodlands and keeping land that otherwise would have a much more diverse flora and fauna to not have that etc. Regarding animal stock, they could halt breeding and the population would naturally decline. The stock population doesn’t enjoy a happy life anyway so 🤷🏻‍♂️?

Except even if you stopped breeding dead one day, there's still thousands of still-living cows & sheep & pigs on industrial farms that you can't do anything with. They're not wild animals, and can't just be set loose to 'roam free'. They wouldn't survive. And even if they did recover feral instincts, the result would be carnage. Wild boar and cows do enough countryside damage and are hard enough to contain.

So you'd have to feed and keep these massive herds for nothing and no reason, essentially. Which I suppose you could do under conservation, until they either died out or adapted, but that would take at least a decade of a lot of dead animals littering the countryside and/or taxpayer money, which ethics aside no-one would vote for.

Plant based almond milk isn't great for the environment. Growing almonds require a lot of water, especially in drought plagued California...which grows 80% for world consumption, and 100% for consumption in the US. Not very environmentally friendly. Water is becoming a precious commodity.

I doubt you can get the kind of and amount of protein you need on an all plant diet. For a good pregnancy diet, e.g., - one that will produce a "superior child", in the words of Adele Davis, you need about 90 grams of protein a day which is hard enough to get on a normal diet with no exclusions.

My grandmother, now 85, has been a lifelong tofu-soymilk-and-fish vegetarian as well as a nonsmoker, and today she’s in cognitive decline, almost bent double, translucent in the sun and looks like melted candle.

I’ll stick to my meat, eggs and B12 sources with the occasional kretek, thanks.
