Interestingly I went to Wi spa earlier this year (my first time, and after the whole drama) and there was a trans man in the mens spa area. Nobody batted an eyelid. All this stuff is so overblown.

The teacher in Oakville is definitely not a right wing hoax, the teacher has been seen and talked about among locals for a couple years now. There's photos of them from last year. The story about him being reprimanded in the past and this whole thing being an elaborate troll started on some 4chan spinoff board. The teacher is still at school, they have a police escort to and from class. The Rebel News thing is an outright lie. They're twisting the fact the reporter for Rebel News crashed the school board meeting dressed up as the teacher, with the same type of breast prosthetics. It was a stupid stunt, but I can guarantee Kayla Lemieux was not laughing. The Serfs are spreading a complete lie based on one anonymous post on /pol, and I think they know it. Anyway, the truth will come out eventually, it's a small city and the press are actually watching, and not just Rebel News.

It's generic use is when it refers back to an indefinite pronoun like someone, anyone, or nouns like 'a student'.

However, the new use isn't about an unknown person hence unknown gender. It's about a known person choosing to refer to themselves (see what I did here?) as an unknown 'they'.

Who knows whether this teacher is "really" trans or not. There isn't some rash of teachers wearing huge prosthetics of various sexual body parts into classrooms in the western world.
