I genuinely think the joe / bash semi privacy is their own choice. Soaps are massive in the UK. The biggest award tonight is Serial Drama - Soaps. They attract some of the highest viewing figures every single week. We have 3 prime time ones. They are on 4 nights a week, every week. These actors & actresses are household names. I’d argue the acting is pretty terrible but it doesn’t seem to matter. Can’t say I watch them but my parents watch them all!

I think it’s important to remember the cultural differences between the UK & the US. We are one time zone. These shows go out at the same time for the whole country. We have national channels that remain extremely popular & well watched. As you can see from the awards show. The main winners are all from shows on the BBC, ITV & C4.

I also thought the choice of clips for Joe and Kit's 'rising star' nominations were questionable - slightly cheesy scenes from the first episode that definitely didn't demonstrate their best performances. I would've gone with the drumkit crying scene for Joe, and the coming out scene for Kit.

To be honest, I think it’s a nice dose of reality that outside teenagers, HS is not that well known. And that’s fine. Let it be what it is.

Whilst I've always thought they were a cute couple, to me it was always a puzzle that they work so well, but seeing some of these videos you can see they are very much Ying and Yang, for example when Joe runs out of social steam, Bash takes over, good for them, they seem very happy.
