Roddy McDowell used to get $500.........he would hire a limo to take him to/from the event so that no one could see his Honda Accord....they would put him up in a local holiday inn-type motel, but he had to drive himself to the hotel to/from his home.........per his autobiography............

CHILLER is the best. Don't knock if you haven't been there. It's nothing but a good time. No different than a sports show where fans line up to have a football or baseball signed by their favorite player.

Did Hollywood just shit all over these people, or do they do it for the ego boost? I can't believe Dee Wallace or Henry Thomas or Tom Atkins or most of these people aren't hired for a variety of projects.

The "talent" makes its money off of signatures (will you sign my xyz?) and hawking merch related to their claim to fame.

The SciFi people, no matter how minor, can clean up.

He was good-looking in a very unusual way when he was young. He was also surprisingly gifted for his age--he was pretty much to the 70s what Claire Danes was to the 90s.

My sister liked Lance Kerwin back in the day, the TV show, teen magazine pinups, etc. I preferred Andy Gibb. Sis always liked the non-threatening boyish types, I preferred the hairy masculine type who looked like they can hit it, and was a good roll in the hay. ;-)

I also wonder how much the "celebrities" are paid to do these Chiller things. Some of the people on the list I would actually like to see, just because of personal memories -- Marla Gibbs is too good (and too old) to be slummin' it at this thing!

Most of the names on the list are just plain embarrassing. Dean Cain belongs at this, I think he is awful. And I feel sorry for Michael Fishman; he just got let go from The Connors, and now he is at the Chiller convention? They couldn't find a job for him behind the scenes, just to give him a little bit of dignity?

He was such a gorgeous young lad, I have to wonder if he was ever "taken advantage of" by all the perverts in Hollywood. If so, it might help explain the hard turn to religion and abandonment of hollywood.

R71 As said and linked above Michael Landon did a made for TV movie, the Loneliest Runner about growing up a bedwetter where Lance played him, and yes those scenes of his mom hanging the sheets out the window were devastating! Sarah Silverman wrote about her experiences of being a bedwetter into her teens, as did comic and actor Rob Delaney, who thanked her for coming forward in his book. The sleep over at friends sections were heart wrenching.
