Do you have a good explanation why some gay men want feminine men?

I've never met one gay man who liked sissies. Not one.

While people have all kinds of interests and fetishes, I think the number of gays who want feminine men is very small. The guys I know with feminine partners are with them DESPITE them being fem. In other words. They just like THAT PERSON. And that is ok OP. Really it is.

I like that they is soft and gentle- I prefer that kinda luvin and they tend to be more affectionate and loving in my experience. . I dont like rough sex. And the chances are better I will get that with a particular type of guy that aint very masculine - Nicholas Fairford for instance is a perfect example of the type I find attractive - dainty, prissy, overly groomed, with gay voice and gay voice in abundance. Usually they also got done with coming out of the closet cos they never been in it so they've got their shit together in that respect. I also want a pretty blossom I can nurture and love.

It could also be because I got shit gaydar and always have, so guys that I could immediately see were gay were the ones that I gravitated towards when I was first coming out and forming attractions and such. Mannerisms are a big part of what I find attractive too - mincing, fey and queeny with gay voice and gay face are gonna get my interest for sure and signal availability to this poor white boy looking for some action!

For the same reason some gay women like butch women. They have the body of a woman, but their personality is masculine. Butch women aren't men. I even know some straight men who think beautiful women who have a masculine personality are hot.

R12 That is kinda what I was saying earlier. The whole masc/fem thing is overexaggerated in society generally but even more so in the gay community. There is so much more to a person. I have heard men say they are not attracted to fem only to end up dating a fem guy because of all the other qualities presented by a REAL PERSON.

I often say it is a matter of supply and demand. If fem guys were the unfuckable pariahs many people portray them as, there would not be so many of them... well, getting fucked!

R20 it was a single car accident and I never really got an explanation on how it happened. I was too distraught with grief to really ask questions. If I remember correctly there was a $10,000 payout,but that was 1994 so I may be wrong on the amount. We were youngish and not really thinking about life ending.Unlike my 2nd husband,who died of MS.I had 2 long bitter years to watch that happen. In retrospect,I prefer sudden death .

R5 I too believe that fem gays are a minority. I think it gained a following because people equate femininity with being less than, less equal. And so feminine men make straight men feel more straight, and it is easy to contrast. But I have known feminine men who were married with children- that doesn’t mean they aren’t gay- but it does imply that perhaps it just a spin of the genetic wheel. But I also believe that many gay men act in feminine ways because they a) believe that is what gay is, and b) it represents a self hate that is mistaking itself as bait for straight or manly men.

I think many gay men are effeminate because they were socialized from Their male peers, often hanging with females or among a subset of effeminate males that compound their gender expression.
