What type of mattress do you prefer, memory foam, spring mattress or hybrid?
I’ve always had a spring mattress because I trust them most, but in 2020 I bought a hybrid, where 8 inches of the mattress are springs and 5 inches is made of memory foam. I saw a memory foam mattress that looks beautiful, and am considering buying it, but don’t know if I trust having a complete foam mattress. My sister had one for a few years and she said it didn’t hold up great after a few years. I know others who say foam mattresses get too warm and uncomfortable to sleep on.
Different people have their own preferences. What are yours?

Mattresses made with foam will never be in my bedroom.

Pine needle. Once you try one you'll never want to sleep on any other type of mattress.

I won't buy a coil spring mattress that I cannot rotate and flip to increase it longevity.

Apparently the foam ones are good for sleep but the lack of bounce is not so great for "entertaining".

OP - I do think you get what you pay for. I inherited an insanely expensive DWR sold Sonno queen mattress 3 years ago from my best friend when he & his wife moved cross country. He had gotten it 4 years earlier from a wealthy friend who originally bought it at least 5 years before that, for around 1.5k. This thing is around 12 years old and is still firm and very comfortable. I’m thinking about replacing it with a full bed that will better fit my small bedroom, and I’m probably going to just get another Sonno despite the steep price.
To those grossed out by me sleeping on a third hand mattress, A - I know the prior owners well, and B - I sleep in hotels.

Tatami mat on a platform frame, full sized. I've been using it about 6 years now and still love it.

R8, $1.5K is insanely expensive? That’s what Casper’s mistresses cost.

I will never buy a mattress that is shipped folded in a box...never again. I want to buy a quality spring mattress that I can flip, and it needs to be on the firm side. I'm thinking of getting a Sterns & Foster or Aireloom, prepared to spend 3-5K. I know that's not even the high end of the market, but I want to get the best I can afford. I'm 60, it will likely be the last mattress I purchase.

R10 anything over $1k is a lot for a mattress. Yes.

R10 - the mattress cost $1,500.00 a dozen years ago, it now sells for $2,400.00.
