How often do we reckon that Kit hangs out with Will? It seems that he's closest to Will out of the cast (with Bash and Joe likely close seconds) but they never seem to be spotted out and about together. They're both introverted, and they live close to each other in Croydon, so I wouldn't be surprised if they hang out at each other's houses a fair bit.

That being said I’m sure their PR teams are both pretty happy with it and not encouraging them to downplay it at all. dating their costar in a romantic film is good promo; their fanbases didn’t have much crossover so it’s a new audience for each; while it’s a Hetero relationship she’s openly said she’s bi and Kit alludes a lot to not being straight so they can both lean into that element more; etc. probably a real relationship or fling or whatever with good promo opportunities built in. It’s not rare for castmates to fall for one another or hook up behind the scenes to be fair

R20 Cuban Girl's PR might love it, but on the other hand, it's making some HS fans cry because they are upset it's ruining their imagined Joe and Kit relationship. They also want Joe to stay away from Bash as well obviously. There was a whole thing with people having mental breakdowns yesterday (on tiktok a lot, some on twitter/reddit) because they didn't like Joe and Kit on dates with other people while HS filming is going on. And seemed to think that Joe and Kit should act more like a couple while they are with the rest of the cast. Not sure they get that the Disney trip was a personal trip and not promotion for the show.

R21 to be fair hasn’t seen much of that but I use Twitter rarely and tiktok and Reddit basically never so I believe it’s there. As much as the fangirls may weep, I honestly think most of them are just so obsessed with projecting onto gay mens’ relationships that if Joe and Bash ever went super public and started being very romantic and cutesy in public a lot of them would just shift their obsession to that duo (which is why I’m glad for them in a sense that they’re semi private). Netflix is legitimately the biggest Bash promoter I’ve seen and have made a lot of memes about Bash vs. Ben; Bash and Joe being so close offscreen and enemies onscreen; etc and Maia featured a fair bit in the Do Revenge promo. That would kind of suck. The dinner scene where Nick comes out to his dad is a big, dramatic scene. It would change the sequence of events a lot if Nick came out to his dad while in Paris, with just the three of them.

R100 I totally agree - given they’re introducing James as more than a cameo this season my thinking is the situation you describe happens, and he actually is out / chatting with Charlie and nicks weird inner monologue is the contrast between Charlie being able to be with someone out and interested and semi closeted Nick. Given Brad’s original caption (pre being made to edit it) asked if James would find love I suspect he’s in a love triangle.

If they do include him, I think it's a good choice. He's semi-introduced and Nick wants to meet up, but they don't due to work. Nick doesn't have a whole lot to do in the Paris arc other than worrying about Charlie and coming out to the rest of his friends unless I'm forgetting some stuff.

Let’s me give you my guess about the next season. Charlie will try harder to hide his struggles with his ED + his conflict with being a understanding bf and not wanting to hide his relationship to nick’s dad or even david so that will make them grow apart a little, insert james there and we have enough drama to make the season entertaining. Then, it all gets exposed, nick helps charlie tell his parents about his ED, Charlie rejects james and nick comes out to the rest of his family.

Meeting Nick’s dad in a cafe is also good for more of the ED stuff, have Charlie reject eating anything and it’s another red flag for the audience (and for Nick).

I’m not sure I’m remembering this right so hopefully someone else here remembers, but didn’t Alice say she was never going to write a love triangle into the show? I would guess James is going to be like Imogen in that he’ll trigger jealousy from Nick but it’ll be made clear that Charlie isn’t interested. The angle of James making Nick spiral about not coming out could be interesting, since the pressure to come out is unlikely to be coming directly from Charlie. He’s more likely to be supportive and encourage him to take his time.

On his phone checking in with Maia? Isn’t the pic she posted in her story same area he’s filming in Paris?

Another cute guy going after Charlie while Nick hides in the closet would be pretty fun. Also they could build up James being so excited about wanting to kiss Charlie and then Nick finally comes out and admits to everyone they are dating, problem solved.

I thought Will and Yaz did a good job with the more nonverbal flirty/romantic moments (her staring at him at the arcade, him looking at her in the classroom) and the museum scene in the comic is mostly nonverbal so hopefully that’ll be convincing.

It’s hard to get a consensus on who people thought were the best actors as Twitter goes through phases of “th POC in the cast are underrated; Yaz/Will/Cori actually gave the most nuanced performance in the show”. I thought Joe and Kit were head and shoulders the best, then Jenny, then Tara, Bash, and Will were serviceable with the others as varying shades of middling. I saw Will in the trials and while he wasn’t a standout he was totally serviceable in his (tbh, somewhat oddly written) role so maybe he’s strengthened since S1 of HS.

R166, yes Will is the guy who plays Tao. He’s actually very attractive, the hair did not do him justice. It appears from the leaked set pictures he will have a more normal hairstyle in season 2.
