Walking Dead: The Final Episodes

Begins Sunday, October 2 on AMC.

This is it.

The Dead finally stop walking.

by Anonymousreply 102November 22, 2022 2:29 PM

Sorry OP but with so many new series, films & specials in the pipeline

the dead won't stop walking until the genre itself dies.

by Anonymousreply 1October 2, 2022 5:09 AM

I will continue to hate watch this. After all I have came this far with it.

by Anonymousreply 2October 2, 2022 5:15 AM

I agree R2. I'm not watching the Maggie/Negan one & I'm 50/50 on the Daryl one.

The Rick one maybe if it ever comes to pass.

by Anonymousreply 3October 2, 2022 6:52 AM

This show should have ended years ago. The showrunners killed it by shoving Negan down our throats. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his "aw shucks" acting were horrible. They killed off all the characters people cared about, and the show took the cheap route by filming in the country and getting rid of veterans and replacing them with newbies that nobody cared about so they could pay the newer actors less.

Good riddance.

by Anonymousreply 4October 2, 2022 7:10 AM

[quote] I'm not watching the Maggie/Negan one & I'm 50/50 on the Daryl one.

[quote] The Rick one maybe if it ever comes to pass.

What are you talking about here, R3?

by Anonymousreply 5October 2, 2022 3:42 PM

How many episodes in this grand finale?

by Anonymousreply 6October 2, 2022 8:12 PM

R5 The Walking Dead spin offs that were announced ages ago.

Daryl (after the flagship ends) gets a spinoff & heads to Europe to find Rick but finds faster zombies instead.

They have Maggie teaming up with Negan for another spin off. Poor Glen is rolling in his grave.

The most recent series announced was the Rick & Michonne one coming soon (the long talked about Rick flicks morphed into this new show).

by Anonymousreply 7October 3, 2022 1:37 AM

[quote] Daryl (after the flagship ends) gets a spinoff & heads to Europe to find Rick but finds faster zombies instead.

Interesting!

Walking Dead: World Beyond ended their series in France, with a scientist fighting off a "fast zombie."

Also, Jenner from the CDC in Atlanta (from season one of Walking Dead) was giving that French scientist some information.

The whole thing was confusing, but now I see that it was setting up a new show for Daryl.

I turned it on to get ready for Interview with the Vampire and my god the acting is atrocious.

by Anonymousreply 9October 3, 2022 1:52 AM

Will Carol finally find a lesbian lover - she has been celibate for all these years

by Anonymousreply 10October 3, 2022 1:53 AM

Who the fuck wants to watch a show about Daryl? The man cannot even take a bath. Gross.

by Anonymousreply 11October 3, 2022 2:58 AM

I haven't watched in years and didn't know it was still on. The first two seasons were amazing, though.

by Anonymousreply 12October 3, 2022 3:06 AM

Carol is certainly butching it up. I wonder if she will be wearing a plaid shirt soon.

by Anonymousreply 13October 3, 2022 3:48 AM

The new characters are hard to like.

It's like they have no relation to the original show and the original characters, and therefore lack a connection with the viewers.

by Anonymousreply 14October 3, 2022 3:23 PM

R14 I agree. I can't believe Rosita & the "fake genius" are still around.

I wonder if the "fake genius" will ever be blamed for getting Jesus killed since he helped set that into motion?

It seems like a forgotten plot point.

by Anonymousreply 15October 3, 2022 4:56 PM

R15 right? "fake genius" can eat shit. Did anyone notice hous when he comes to the Commonwealth and starts setlling in, he talks normal now? No more word salad/catchphrase crap?

R2, I am hate- watching too. Biggest gripes for me:

- The whole Commonwealth plot. We get it! Weary travelers discover a place that could FINALLY become a respite. But all is NOT what it SEEMS! (Insert typical power dynamic conflict, bloodthirsty antagonist, bloodthirsty antagonist's minions who do their bidding blah blah)

- The general "look" of the Commonwealth citizens. Either the clothing/makeup/costumes/hair is being done this way to deliberately throw us off, or it's just a generally cheap look. When they have crowded scenes, it looks like extras from five nearby productions wandered onto the set. It's just shitty looking, imo.

-The unbelievable amount of screen time the Commonwealth characters are getting. This started back in the spring. Episodes have entire scenes that include ONLY Commonwealth characters, sometimes conversing and moving entire plots forward. Considering this is the last set of episodes of the final season, it's disgusting.

- hokey "action" and chase scenes that look like something from LaBrea 🤣

by Anonymousreply 16October 4, 2022 4:58 PM

This episode was actually pretty good.

I wonder what's going to happen to Negan now that he is captured by The Commonwealth Security?

by Anonymousreply 17October 5, 2022 4:49 AM

R17 He'll probably save the day to boost his popularity for the Mags/Negan spinoff.

by Anonymousreply 18October 5, 2022 6:31 AM

Who's the "Big Bad" this season? Does this group have a despotic/sociopathic leader like EVERY OTHER one?

by Anonymousreply 19October 5, 2022 12:14 PM

That ending was good!

Anyone know how many episodes before the finale?

by Anonymousreply 20October 10, 2022 5:40 AM

Teo Rapp-Olssen is adorable, even though Sebastian is a total jerk.

by Anonymousreply 21October 10, 2022 7:26 PM

Another good episode.

One of the major players is going to die soon.

I can feel it.

by Anonymousreply 22October 17, 2022 5:09 AM

Wow, only five episodes left!

by Anonymousreply 23October 17, 2022 6:17 AM

I don't know how this show is going to wrap everything up with only two more episodes.

They have wasted so much time with this stupid trial for Eugene, stolen kids, and captured good guys working on a chain gang.

I can already tell that the finale is going to be horrible and unsatisfying.

by Anonymousreply 24November 7, 2022 4:42 AM

Only two more episodes, including tonight!!

by Anonymousreply 25November 13, 2022 3:51 PM

I'm still watching the show but at this point, they might as well do something so over the top and ridiculous, like having Rick wake up from the coma, surrounded by Lori, Carl and Shane - realizing the zombie apocalypse was all him being trapped in a hell state for marrying that Olive Oyl bitch who pitted two best friends against each other.

Just before he wakes, Paul Rovia, aka Jesus comes to Rick and asks him if he sees the error in his ways and is now willing to accept Shane as his one true love and dominant top. When Rick accepts this, he suddenly wakes from his 10+ year coma and presents his hole to Shane and he takes him right there on the hospital bed.

by Anonymousreply 26November 13, 2022 4:06 PM

I love that ending, R26.

Let's shoot it!

by Anonymousreply 27November 13, 2022 4:08 PM

They completely destroyed this show. I absolutely loved it in its first few seasons, then they just did the same story over and over, killed all the likable characters and then licked Jeffrey Dean Moran's ass and gave him more airtime than necessary.

by Anonymousreply 28November 13, 2022 5:18 PM

Wow, that was a crazy good episode!!!

Now I really want to see the finale.

by Anonymousreply 29November 14, 2022 5:06 AM

I wish AMC would show a marathon of seasons one through ten, leading up to the finale, but they're not going to do it.

by Anonymousreply 30November 14, 2022 5:06 AM

I cannot believe people still watch this shit. It was really good the first few seasons and I hung on until Negan, when it got really bad. I haven't watched for a good 5+ years but I recently saw a commercial where they were all dressed like storm troopers from Star Wars--WTF? And wasn't there some dude with a pet tiger? Talk about jumping the shark.

by Anonymousreply 31November 14, 2022 5:24 AM

Someone important got shot in last night's episode, and I think they are going to die!

by Anonymousreply 32November 14, 2022 1:41 PM

How does Daryl get to Europe? Is there a land bridge? Does he book a flight on United or a cruise ship? I thought this was an apocalyptic world.

by Anonymousreply 33November 14, 2022 1:47 PM

Loved the show until Negan, but soldiered on. The last straw, though, was the guy with the dreadlocks/cornrows and Old Testament English who kept a tiger on a leash. That was a huge shark, right there.

by Anonymousreply 34November 14, 2022 1:51 PM

A lot of characters are on the brink for the finale.

One main character got bitten on the arm (but didn't die), another one got arrested by Pamela Milton, and another one got shot.

I'm hoping that Rick comes back for the finale.

Even if he doesn't, I'm sure he will return for the big after party on Talking Dead, live from Hollywood.

That show is going to be the hot ticket of the year!

by Anonymousreply 35November 14, 2022 1:52 PM

He actually jumps across the Atlantic while riding a vintage Harley.

by Anonymousreply 36November 14, 2022 1:52 PM

I think that Carol has to go with Daryl.

It seems like cast members are being paired off for spin-off shows.

Rick and Michonne, Daryl and Carol, and Maggie and Negan.

The only one I would watch is Rick (but not Michonne).

by Anonymousreply 37November 14, 2022 1:55 PM

I haven't watched since Negan came onboard, but now he and Maggie are a couple--WTF? I thought he was a psycho that clubbed Glenn to death with a baseball bat. This show is hot garbage.

by Anonymousreply 38November 14, 2022 3:36 PM

Here's the trailer for next week's series finale.

by Anonymousreply 39November 14, 2022 3:38 PM

Yes r38 and that’s why I stopped watching years ago.

AMC are cheapass motherfuckers. They won’t pay for good storytellers. They had one in Frank Darabont which is why s1 was infinitely the best season. They then had a series of hacks, totally green people (including the current show runner) and even the special effects guys running the show, with exactly the sort of cheesy character trashing you mention, done just to move the story forward, becoming standard. When a show has a character say or do things you know they would never say or do, just to serve some episodic narrative, time to turn the power off. The show’s dead.

It all became extremely formulaic, predictable, and infuriating. They would grab some secondary character, push them to the forefront, and then kill the character. “Insert pathos here.”

Who is going to watch all these spin-offs? Talk about the walking dead.

by Anonymousreply 40November 14, 2022 4:20 PM

When is Carol going to get a Lesbian Lover?

by Anonymousreply 41November 14, 2022 4:20 PM

[quote] AMC are cheapass motherfuckers. They won’t pay for good storytellers.

Well, they did an excellent job with Interview With A Vampire.

AMC seems to have shelled out a lot of money for both writers AND costume design.

Before last night's episode, there was a special show with cast and crew interviews.

That's when it dawned on me what the real problem was with the show.

They put too much of their focus (and money) on makeup and special effects, because of Greg Nicotero.

Listening to them, they are just completely clueless about how it affected the show.

It was all about sets and makeup, and cool effects on the zombies, but nothing about the story.

That's why the show turned to shit.

It was so self-congratulatory in terms of how wonderful the special effects were, with Greg Nicotero acting like the "man of the hour."

They also talked about set designs, and what a "family" environment there was on the show.

But the truth is that the makeup and costume fanboys got all the money from AMC for their budget, and the writers got zip.

That's the real reason the show turned to shit.

by Anonymousreply 42November 14, 2022 4:27 PM

That and just moving the show from one remote location to another. Boring.

by Anonymousreply 43November 14, 2022 4:37 PM

[quote] Well, they did an excellent job with Interview With A Vampire.

Probably because they’re desperate — they have no iconic shoes now.

by Anonymousreply 44November 14, 2022 5:23 PM

[quote]I think that Carol has to go with Daryl.

Melissa McBride (Carol) was originally going to be in the spinoff with Norman Reedus (Daryl), but she dropped out.

[quote] haven't watched since Negan came onboard, but now he and Maggie are a couple--WTF?

They aren't.

by Anonymousreply 45November 14, 2022 5:52 PM

[quote] Melissa McBride (Carol) was originally going to be in the spinoff with Norman Reedus (Daryl), but she dropped out.

Wow, that's the first I've heard of that.

I'm not surprised, though.

Poor Melissa has been with Walking Dead since the very beginning.

That's twelve years straight of working with zombies, in the heat, in the bushes, doing very physical acting.

She must be exhausted.

Melissa deserves to take some time off and enjoy her hard earned money.

by Anonymousreply 46November 15, 2022 1:28 AM

Carol is the only interesting character left. Who wants to watch a solo Darryl show? For what? Maybe he'll take a bath.

by Anonymousreply 47November 15, 2022 2:40 AM

No interest in the Daryl spinoff without Carol. He's had his moments but I think his fan base was mostly these things from the 2000s/early 2010s.

Daryl and Depp seem to have the same type of annoying followers.

Welp, tomorrow night is the finale.

It's over, bitches.

I'm probably going to cry.

by Anonymousreply 49November 19, 2022 6:29 PM

It's time

by Anonymousreply 50November 19, 2022 7:07 PM

Walking Dead fans, wasn't the TIGER in the graphic comic books TWD was based on?

I never read them, so I'm not sure on that. I never watched the episode where the TIGER saves them all-gets killed by the zombies (Loved the TIGER), however I cheered when Lori died, screaming at the TV "Die bitch Die"

by Anonymousreply 51November 19, 2022 7:15 PM

What in the hell is this all about???

Is it for real?

by Anonymousreply 52November 20, 2022 1:54 AM

AMC always used to do a Walking Dead marathon before a big premiere or finale.

This time? NOTHING!

I really wanted to see AMC do a ten season marathon of episodes, starting with season one.

Season one has always been my favorite.

But, nope.

Cheap ass AMC wants you to pay for streaming it. Fuckers!!!

by Anonymousreply 53November 20, 2022 5:25 PM

You sound cheap. Many have subscribed

by Anonymousreply 54November 20, 2022 6:35 PM

To be fair, for the end of perhaps their biggest show, it is surprising that AMC is not doing a marathon.

But I don't sense any real excitement for this finale. Maybe it's due to the fact that the show sucks now and all the popular characters (except for Daryl and Carol) are gone and we also have all these spin-offs coming.

AMC really ran this into the ground. I remember when it was must-see TV.

by Anonymousreply 55November 20, 2022 10:12 PM

Tonight's Walking Dead extravaganza includes:

* 30 minute Red Carpet arrivals (including "surprise appearances")

* 1.5 hour Walking Dead series finale

* 1.5 hour Talking Dead LIVE after-show

I hope that Andrew (Clutterbuck) Lincoln comes back for the red carpet and Talking Dead after-show.

by Anonymousreply 56November 20, 2022 11:26 PM

R56 You know Lincoln will. It's rumored that Andrew returned to shoot something for the final & besides what else does he have on his plate?

(In case you still don't know who got shot in the previous episode).

by Anonymousreply 57November 20, 2022 11:39 PM

I hope to see many of the early actors back on the Red Carpet in their tuxes and gowns: T-Dog, Merle, the Governor, Andrea, Morales, Enid, Dale, Jesus, Eric (Aaron's BF), Sophia (Carol's daughter), Olivia, Morgan, Carl, Saddiq, Lori, Tyrese, Bob, Gregory, Glen, Alpha, Jadis, Heath, Mica and her sister Lizzie, etc.

by Anonymousreply 58November 20, 2022 11:59 PM

You think Glenn will come back, R58?

I don't think he will.

by Anonymousreply 59November 21, 2022 12:53 AM

Who would ever have ever predicted the kid would get hurt and slow everything?

by Anonymousreply 60November 21, 2022 1:29 AM

Explain, R60.

I haven't watched the finale yet.

So did Rick show up at the red carpet?

by Anonymousreply 61November 21, 2022 2:49 AM

Pluto TV has a Walking Dead channel where they’ve been marathoning one season a day for the past week r53. Platforms like a Pluto and Tubi are where you see marathons these days.

by Anonymousreply 62November 21, 2022 2:54 AM

Why didn't Andrea kill the Governor after she fucked his brains out& and he was sleeping after fucking dat pussy?

I was soooo GLAD when Dale died(hated the old man)

BTW,,,LOVE Chris Hardwick...met him several times over the years; love his wife Lydia Hearst (let's be honest, for me, her family is American history)

by Anonymousreply 63November 21, 2022 3:20 AM

The finale had its moments. I will just say that I am not happy with the who was bitten, after the impossible, but heroic comeback after the fall. He or she has become one of my very favorite characters.

And this is obviously in no way an end. Just new directions.

by Anonymousreply 64November 21, 2022 3:35 AM

The red carpet looked like so much fun, and the Orpheum Theater looked like an amazing Haunted House!!!

They had displays and dioramas of scenes from past seasons, which looked incredible.

I wish I could have been there!

by Anonymousreply 65November 21, 2022 3:37 AM

Lenny James was on the red carpet, and I sometimes forget that he was a big part of the very first episode ever of the Walking Dead.

He disappeared for a couple of seasons, and who knew that he would last this long?

by Anonymousreply 66November 21, 2022 3:40 AM

Josh McDermitt dyed his hair blond and he actually looks really great.

by Anonymousreply 67November 21, 2022 3:58 AM

Agreed, r65, it looked like a blast. Josh McDermott received underwear from Cooper Andrews on the red carpet, and put them on over his tux 🤣

In regards to the finale and this last year or so... I'm honestly just glad it's over. What torture. All of these new characters are just absolutely boring. The Commonwealth exteriors looked like a super cheap Hollywood backlot set. The extras looked like they walked over from other productions, the cheap wigs and hairdos on Princess and Maxine. Having so many entire scenes with just new characters interacting and moving the plot along is a serious disservice to the legacy characters, I've said it before like how Rosita was relegated to this boring mother role with absolutely no content, she is just there for Eugene to talk her poor ears off.

So the Rick and Michonne stuff at the end was meh. I was glad when Rick left, got so sick of his overwroughtness/ journey through literal hell narrative. After the deaths of Abraham and Glenn at the hands of Negan they did like an entire fucking episode of Rick's quivering, misty eyes and a bunch of bad boy Jack off monologue from Negan. And now what do we have? More lengthy closeups of Rick while he has THOUGHTS and EMOTIONS. Him & Elisabeth Moss should do a show that's just long closeups of their faces.

The "walker" commercials were mostly cool although the Doordash one was in really fucking poor taste, attempting to parody Alpha's revenge killing of ten characters by beheading. Loved seeing Laurie Holden as a walker in two different commercials! I miss Andrea, she was a wreck but she was real.

by Anonymousreply 68November 21, 2022 4:15 AM

The zombie coordinated commercials are unnerving in and of themselves. Seems to trivialize the show. Meh.

by Anonymousreply 69November 21, 2022 4:16 AM

Chris Hardwick interviewed Melissa McBride on the red carpet, and she seemed completely over it.

It's no surprise she declined the new series working with Norman Reedus.

I mean, she looked really, REALLY over it.

by Anonymousreply 70November 21, 2022 4:20 AM

The mixed emotions were there.

by Anonymousreply 71November 21, 2022 4:24 AM

Seriously, where'd the banquet come from. And the soft rock.

by Anonymousreply 72November 21, 2022 5:06 AM

I thought I was watching the season finale, a goodbye to all the characters. And then they previewed "The Walking Dead Universe" of future shows with each main character in their own spin-off, and then I realized I won't ever have closure.

by Anonymousreply 73November 21, 2022 5:14 AM

It's like the end of Animal House. WEHT. Lack....luster.

by Anonymousreply 74November 21, 2022 5:20 AM

That Talking Dead cast reunion was a total shit show.

Omg, the passive-aggressiveness was off the charts!

To me, it started with Christian Serratos talking about how she asked to be killed off because she needed closure on her character, and that's why her death scene was so moving. Then that Angela Chang chimed in with, "Well we were going back and forth and decided to grant her wish. We granted a lot of wishes." Rofl. BITCH-EY!

Then Sarah Wayne Callies showed up, and took over the stage. Kissing some of the old cast members, and then saying to the new cast members "nice to meet you, nice to meet you." She took up a good two minutes on her entrance.

The worst, though, was when she was asked about the Judith character, and she said "Well, I don't watch the show." MEOW!

About midway through, Michael Cudlitz got in a dig towards Jeffrey Dean Morgan, about how it was because of Negan that Cudlitz' character was cut from the show. He was like joking, but not joking.

It seems like a lot of people are still bitter about how they exited the show.

Steven Yeun didn't bother to show, nor did Laurie Holden, Jon Bernthal, and a lot of others from the early seasons.

But the most egregious absence was the main character RICK GRIMES, Mr. Andrew Lincoln.

Why do they keep offering him jobs? He doesn't give a shit about Walking Dead. He's clearly just in it for the paycheck.

And then the elephant in the room: NO ROBERT KIRKMAN. How do you not invite the guy who actually CREATED the Walking Dead comic book? Also, no Gale Ann Hurd, who was a big part of the early seasons.

For the most part, it was a love fest.

But you can tell that behind the scenes, there's a LOT of bad blood.

by Anonymousreply 75November 21, 2022 7:53 AM

A bunch of characters who were killed off on the show, appeared on commercials for Ryan Reynolds, throughout the finale.

One of them was Laurie Holden (Andrea) who did a commercial for Deloitte.

It was really strange.

by Anonymousreply 77November 21, 2022 10:06 AM

Glad to see Carol back into her dykedo.

by Anonymousreply 78November 21, 2022 10:11 AM

The "happily ever after" scenes were some of the most beautifully filmed shots I've ever seen on this show.

The rebuilt Commonwealth, the new Alexandria, Carol and Daryl sitting by the river/lake, the field of purple flowers outside the Commonwealth gate...

It was all so much better than those stupid scenes in the bushes and trees that they filmed in for years.

by Anonymousreply 79November 21, 2022 1:07 PM

Poor Ross Marquand.

I don't know why he chose to talk about it on that stage, in front of a national audience, but he actually admitted that Walking Dead "saved his life."

He said he wasn't working, and also deeply in debt.

Then Walking Dead came along and changed all that.

Anyone know what was up with him?

by Anonymousreply 80November 21, 2022 1:45 PM

This show should've ended years ago.

by Anonymousreply 81November 21, 2022 2:27 PM

Melissa McBride is almost 60. Walking Dead requires a lot of standing and wandering around for hours and hours, for days and weeks and months - away from family and friends. So it may be like, retirement age is within sight, why move even further away for something that might not rightly compensate her for it and puts her even further away from people she cares about. And what could be just a 1-2 season thing but turn into several seasons.

There's actors that seem (or clearly are) bitter to be written off, whether it made some sense (Abraham?) or not (Carl?). But there's also actors that obviously left for a time or forever to get engaged with other projects. Maybe she's just done. Maybe she'll see if there's opportunities but notice those are sparce/more annoying and come back for guest/recurring/main appearance in Daryl show or whatever.

It should be no surprise that anyone working over a decade on an entertainment product that barely changes is 'over it'. Most would be. At this point, at least one major phase of your personal life has changed, maybe two, of if young, three. You increasingly rely on enjoying the income stability and friendship with coworkers - but again if you're just going to France and knowing so many fewer people this time, why bother?

by Anonymousreply 82November 21, 2022 3:19 PM

Also while this show lasted 11 seasons, and at its pacing and material introduced it could have went to a season 12-14, it... really should have only been about 6-8. Atlanta outskirts including the farm (forget the CDC), the prison and handling Woodsbury, reaching Alexandria and navigating it, the Savior War, the Whisperers (forget the flashforward), and the Commonwealth. Some parts might truly need extension (Alexandra and/or Commonwealth) but still. I'd be over the stretched out storylines and useless cheap forest scenes too. By season 6-8 everyone was getting tired of The Walking Dead anyway, a lot of it being due to stretched out and cheap scenes and writing, but the show continued shambling on due to AMC insistence and actually bothering to infuse the show with some new creative direction and concepts (for better or worse). Once people regularly complained about The Negan Show (S7-8) I felt it was pretty done.

Fear the Walking Dead is a nonsense spinoff just to have a spinoff. Good bits, but I except it may be done in the coming few years (squeezing out drama with Madison etc). World Beyond was terrible and is one of those things you hope will just be rendered non-canon.

by Anonymousreply 83November 21, 2022 3:27 PM

[quote]It should be no surprise that anyone working over a decade on an entertainment product that barely changes is 'over it'. Most would be.

Also, the WD is a very physical show. Lots of action and stunts and being outdoors in the elements etc. As you said, McBride is no spring chicken. And the new series would require her to live halfway across the world for the better part of a year. After 12 years of such physical acting and at her age, she's just like "GIRL, NO." She's done. You can't blame her.

by Anonymousreply 84November 21, 2022 3:35 PM

Yes I can see her continuing to act, but in a far less physical way.

If I compare Badass Carol Season 4 or so, to today's Season 11, I see one that's settled into a cooler and more defined appearance, but actually kinda sucks for action scenes compared to before. There was something about her sniping enemies in the past that wouldn't be as believed today, even though the actor is certainly more used to these scenes and that shows.

It isn't in her. She wants to go towards retirement or at least less demanding workplaces. I really do not blame anyone for that. If anything, I look at 60something, 70something alpha male stars/former stars that just cannot let go of being 30s-40s and in their prime popularity and they look so gross, physically and socially. There's a point you gotta chill out and enjoy your real life, personal, home centered years. If you can.

I'm starting to hate Andrew Lincoln.

He totally disrespects the fans when he doesn't show up for big events.

Fucker.

r88 as has been said, most of the actors appear to be totally fucking over it. The quality of the series took a nosedive years ago.

It would have been nice for Lincoln to show up but the show should have been cancelled years ago. Plus, many of the characters on the show near the end didn't interact with Rick.

As a poster said above, there is a lot of bad blood. The loss of Darabont really was one of the first bitter experiences for the show. The show became unwatchable when the showrunners started kissing JDM's ass and made it the Negan show, losing Glenn and Abraham, two beloved characters.

Killing off Carl was another bitter blow to the show. Especially when the actor had bought a house to be close to filming. The producers didn't care about the actors or understand their value to the show - and the fans. Which is why many of us ditched the show.

Negan was the end for me, I hung on until the end of that season hoping he would be killed but then when he wasn't killed and made a regular character I stopped watching for years, until this final season just to see how it all would end.

I agree, R90.

But Rick Grimes is/was the center of the show.

He should have at least put in an appearance at what was pretty much the ultimate Walking Dead event - the series finale.

It just goes to show that Andrew Lincoln is not a team player, and he really doesn't appreciate any of the fans, or the people who gave him the opportunity to be on the show.

Rosita got bit?

Was Carl at the reunion?

I don’t understand a Maggie/Negan spin-off. Idc how ‘reformed’ or sorry he is, he still beat her husband to death with a barbed wire wrapped baseball bat. She should’ve killed negan years ago. And where are they going? Is her kid coming along?

Whatever happened to the guy who played violin? He die? He was from years ago.

by Anonymousreply 93November 22, 2022 3:27 AM

So Lincoln’s in it for the money. Who gives a shit? I would be too.

[quote] Was Carl at the reunion?

Yes. He came as a surprise guest with Sarah Wayne Callies (the bitch) and the young girl who plays Judith.

That's when SWC made her declaration that "I don't watch the show."

I mean, how fucking rude is that to announce at the series finale, with thousands of fans in the audience, and dozens of current cast members on-stage??

She must be really bitter to have been written off the show midway through season three.

[quote] Rosita got bit?

Yes. Christian Serratos is another one who got into a little tit-for-tat.

She had a big sad ending on the show, where she died.

At the reunion, she said that it was her idea because she felt too close to the character, and needed closure for both herself and Rosita.

But then the EP lady corrected her and said that Christian had asked for her character to die, but they were up in the air about it. And ultimately, she said yes.

It was like they were both trying to take credit for Rosita's emotional final scene.

To me, Lauren Cohan had the best scene in the finale.

Maggie finally reached the point where she sat down and talked about Glenn's death with Negan.

Lauren did an excellent job of conveying Maggie's feelings toward Negan, where she basically said that she cannot forgive him. Not because she doesn't want to, because she knows that he's trying to earn her forgiveness. And conversely, she's trying to forgive him. And she appreciates that Negan saved her son's life.

But when she sees Negan, all she can ever think of, is him beating Glenn's brains out and then laughing afterwards.

It was a very heartfelt and emotional scene, that was very well written.

[quote] Whatever happened to the guy who played violin? He die?

Yes. He died in the final episode. Bitten by Walkers.

They cut off both his legs, but he suffered too much blood loss.

His ending was surprisingly emotional too. Mainly because his four female friends (they all made their appearance on the show together) stood around him and bawled their eyes out. They were wailing!

I didn't care much for the ending. I'm barely hanging on to Fear as it is without the John character.

The Rosita scenes were pretty unbelievable in this episode up there with Glen & the dumpster.

I guess we'll never know if Eugene was man enough to do FRosita in or if SUper Daryl, etc. had to step in & off her. It was a copout.

Sparing Pamela was also a redo of Negan which I hated. Come up with something different you toads.

I didn't see Dale or the RV guy who they let off at the side of the road in any of the flashbacks. Also the look at the flower girls?

Hershal senior was there but not Patricia, Earl, or Jimmy from the farm.

Poor castrated gay male Aaron didn't have a guy in his life in the "1 year later" scenes & no closure for Oceanside. What great writing.

Too much Super Judith laying down & doing powerful things in bad shape. Stinkface Michonne popped up in an awful "wanderer" scene.

I didn't watch The Talking Dead & now I don't know if I will even bother with what other posters described above.

I hope all the new spin-offs crash & burn as the flagship had.

Rofl... WHAT???

"Hershel Senior" could not have been at the reunion, because he died in 2018.

Beth (Emily Kinney) was there, though. She looked great.

^ I said flashbacks (as in the "Rest In Peace" scripted finale where Rick sees all of the good past & present characters).

Of course, the Hershel actor wasn't on The Talking Dead lol!

That would've been the talk of the night for sure!

I saw two weird commercials during the finale with zombie Andrea. We’re there commercials with other characters?

Yes.

They were doing commercials for Ryan Reynolds' company.

I think Laurie Holden (Andrea) did two commercials, and then Andrew J. West (Gareth the Cannibal from Terminus) did another commercial.

It was nice seeing them again.

They should've had a longer show that included Rosita turning. The fans were cheated.

No one toasted poor Jules when they toasted Luke. What a lousy group of friends she had.

The show got so boring when Mags was partially kissing Negan's butt I started clipping my nails.

I can't recall if Lydia ended up with an arm attachment as Aaron did. Can anyone tell me?
