Just watched her interview for the book on CBS mornings, which was recorded in studio, but obviously was taped for later airing (Tony, Gayle and Nate were all present) and was heavily edited. She brought nothing new to the table. She was described as "Media Icon" in the crawler, and the focus turned to the Regis situation, where she clearly demonstrates she had respect, but no affection, for him. She also seems to be stuck in a decades-old mindset about women not being allowed to be their own advocate, and just sit and be quiet. Bullshit. Can't stand her.

The book is an excuse to pitch the "author" as a speaker (usually bullshit about leadership or knowing one's value or being efficient), and the conference and campus tours are the reason they get book deals in the first place. This is how congresspeople who make $150k/year and NYT and Washington Post columnists who make maybe $100k end up multimillionaires. I don't want anyone to mess with their income. You and I just have different versions of what the closet means. If you're dating someone and can't or won't bring them to a public function, I don't care how out you are to friends and family, you're in the closet. Plus, Kelly has misophonia, so when she comes off as irritable or rude, some of it must stem from that. I have misophonia a well, so for those times I give her a huge pass.

I’m very friendly with lots of people I work with; I’ve worked in my current position for 12 years and with the organization for 25 years exactly this December . I have never associated with anyone I work with outside of work. We are not friends, we’re colleagues. I don’t understand why she expected personal friendship from a coworker. Younger people tend to do this in my experience. Older people, I hope, would realize, if your friends are through work, when you no longer work there you will have to find new friends. That’s not how friendship is supposed to be. It should be organic and based on similar interest and genuine liking of each other’s company.

Hayley could bug me. I remember one comment, it is hard to imagine Pine Valley without the 18 year old alcoholic widow of a rapist, but it would be nice to try. However, she did a pretty good job with the character and worked well with Canary and she and Brian had the teenage angst thing down and they might have been one of AMC's last big teen pairings. She also had decent chemistry with Mark, but always felt it was too soon to tie twentysomething Hayley down to one person for as long as they did with her and Matteo. She was Adam Chandler's messed up daughter. She should have been in a series of bad relationships and some corporate intrigue not clipping coupons and tending bar with her husband.

I wonder how her and Lucci get/got along. There must have been part of Susan that wanted that job, but they seem pretty cordial and relaxed when Susan is a guest on the show. While I never thought the Pine Valley reboot had much of a chance, it must be officially dead by this point.

Kathy Lee could bug me as well, but she seemed to get more real and less phony in later years after the Frank affair came out.

Kelly was Pals with Sarah Michelle Gellar. I wonder what she and Sarah would say about Lucci behind her back.

Which makes sense, at least for Barr and Lucci. The clique were all single young women and Barr and Lucci would have been going to parent-teacher concerts and school events.

I didn't hate Julia -- but she never really worked for me. Still Penny deserved better on her return stint. I cannot even remember who they tried to pair her off with before killing her off. I just remember it was weird that she returned within a week of Matteo leaving. You could not have had them cross over for at least a couple of episodes to give Matteo and Julia one last scene? Although the show was well in its long decline by that point.
