Not a Psychic Medium who connects you to the departed--but a Clairvoyant, who can see into your future. Tarot cards, Astrology, Palm Reading, whatever. Were they accurate?
Did a Fortune Teller ever tell you things that later happened?
by Anonymous | reply 87 | September 28, 2022 1:06 AM |
Yes. I met one, who has since retired and moved out of State, who was so accurate it was scary. She would predict things or descibe things and they would unfold exactly as she stated. There were times I told her things would never happen, yet they did. One time she told me something about someone, where they were, the people they were with, what they were doing and what he was thinking about. I saw them about 4 months later, and as we were driving I was descibing what she told me and they nearly wrecked the car and wanted to know how I knew those things. I was in a relationship once and she told me that my ex wasnt where they said they were, she told me where he was, who he was with, and she mentioned 2 physical pieces of evidence my ex was holding. That night, I went to the store and I used the car he had driven that day...and lo and behold, the 2 items she described were in the cupholder of the car.

I was in professional dire straits, which were very ambiguous as to how to get out of them. A new friend I made told me that she was going to help me out of it, but didn’t know how. Less than one year later, she made good on her word. She wasn’t a professional fortune teller, but she certainly saw a future for me that I couldn’t.

Yes, a few years ago in July she told me that by the end of that year, two of my closest friends would be gone from my life. And they were. One died and the other began a relationship with a guy who hated my guts and insisted my friend terminate a 12 year old (strictly platonic) friendship with me.

There is no difference between a medium and a clairvoyant. Some mediums use tools (tarot, crystal ball, mirror) and some don't. Some connect to your departes loved ones. Some connect to angels or ascended masters. Some see images or scenes playing like a film (clairvoyant). Some hear rhymes or song lyrics (clairaudient). Some smell things (smoke, perfume, cooking). Usually mediums develop a combination of these clairs.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 26, 2022 5:05 AM |
Fortune teller is different that a medium though right? One is about the past and how it effects the present, the other is about the future.

Actually yeah, and it scared the crap out of me.. There was a woman, a co worker was friends with her, and she was a psychic. And several people at the office had "readings" from her. Katie. So out of curiosity a couple of us, myself and a woman at work I was close to, Pat decided to go see her. She lived in a modest house and she sat us at her kitchen table, and did this thing with Turkish coffee, where she roasted the ground up these beans in the oven, and boiled water to make a thick demitasse cup of coffee. we had to drink it quickly and then she quickly turned the cup upside down on the saucer and waited for a minute or two, then turned it back rightside up, and did the reading. She told me I was involved in a very high level project at my job. (I was.) She told me that within the next three or four months a catastrophe would hit the project and I would be blamed. (It did and I was. It wasn't my fault, which eventually came out.) ) She told me Pat would be a strong shoulder to lean on (she was.) And that she too would face a major challenge in the coming year and I needed to remember to be there for her. ( She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the middle of her divorce. I tried to be there for her as much as possible. She died three years later.)

There was someone here on DL that did readings. This was about 8 or 9 years ago. He did mine. He said some things I didn’t understand at the time but did indeed come to pass. Would love to interact with him but I don’t think he is around anymore. He was a student if I recall correctly.

Yes, and it was eerily accurate. She read Tarot at an NYE party and told me that very soon I would lose a loved one. My mother died two weeks later. She had not wanted to tell me and even replayed the cards, but the results were the same. She was a gorgeous black drag queen.
Have never had another reading...

I had a friend who ran into the local independent newspaper’s astrologer in town (I know, I know!🥴) She did a reading on him, unprompted, and for free, but had to physically touch him to do it. Apparently, it was eerily accurate.
I’m mostly of the opinion that psychics are just highly intuitive people, but some things in my life (premonitions, etc.) have given me pause.

When I was in college a girl's mother spoke who was a psychic to a group of us. When we were on a break I went up to her. She did a quick reading and told me that I would be going on a trip soon. It was in the middle of the semester and I wasn't going anywhere. About 3 week later I made an unexpected trip for the weekend. I went back to her when I graduated from college. She told me that I would have a financially successful business life and I did. She also told me that I would experience the tragic death of a friend or family member. In 1993 one of my families best friends committed suicide by jumping off a bridge. He was a high school teacher who was caught having sex with an underaged girl who was a student at his school. She just died at 98 years old.

- A Japanese fortune teller in Ginza read my palm and told me when I reach X age, my life would witness a huge turn. Eight years later at that age, it happened.
- A woman read my Arabic coffee cup and said that the name of my future life partner will be X. Years later, It came true.

I still laugh at how nothing a palm reader told me at 17 (my friend dragged me along to one) would happen has happened to me. Stuff like that I would 'have two sons'. I knew it was a fraud then and it still is. If it weren't fraudulent then there should be evidence to support it.

I once had a lesbian friend who had dated a woman who had a reputation as being a spot on clairvoyant. I connected with her, paid a fee and attended her reading which consisted of her holding my hand while she went into great detail as to what a piece of shit human being I was and that I will not succeed at anything I work hard at. After an hour she flung my hand from hers and announced that she had to wash her hand and that I could leave. All that for $200. A year later her body was found in a canyon with a broken neck. I was strangely relieved.

My late psychic would always tell me what was going to happen, also clarifying that he did not have an exact timeline as to when. Everything he told me about my romances have come to past. His descriptions were spot on, basically what losers they were , and for me to wait. He said if I waited I would be very happy that I did so. Given his track record I still believe it will happen as he said.

There is a lot of BS and deception. John Edward is the kind of shit that makes my skin crawl...a pseudo-seance built from his skill at manipulating people.
Having said that, I know people that have had some kind of gifts of perception. Including my mother and, yes, me.
Mom had it much stronger, and it so upset her after a while she started to ignore it or push it away. But she had several times where she protected us from bad events, including keeping me out of a car with a friend that he crashed that night. And we listened to her when she said no, because she almost never did and wasn't the type to be unreasonable.
I had a lesser touch of ESP, one that only seemed to work with a few people. I was told I did great assessments of people and gave some strong tarot readings, but I was too emotionally traumatized from a lot of my bullying, etc. to be able to open up emotionally in the way needed for that sort of spiritual exercise, so I walked away from it.

I went for a reading with a psychic 11 years ago. She said I'd meet a guy and have a relationship in 8 years. We met exactly one week shy of eight years later. She also warned me that when it came to by parents care, I would be looking after them "as if you were an only child". My only sibling, an older, half-sister, chose to be estranged from my parents for the last 6 years of their lives. I was indeed left alone to look after them. While I realize most psychics et al are frauds, that one seemed pretty accurate.

I had an argument with a psychic once. She kept telling me my ex, who I left in California was around me for months and kept trying to find me and was driving past my house, etc. Mind you, Im on the other side of the country, so I laughed at her and she kept insisting he was around, but was leaving to go back to California soon. About a month later, I learned he had been in town for about six months because one of his parents was really sick and died. Its funny to me because Ive reached out to them a few times and they ignore it, but she insists we one day are getting back together....the caveat being that it will be to take care of him when he gets sick.

I found out 20 years later that an ex had done something really heinous when we were together. I didn’t know what to do, I even spoke with a cop about it but it was not the sort of thing that they could do anything about that far after the fact without dragging other people into it and traumatizing them too. A short time later I saw a psychic who I see once a year or so, and she told me not to worry about it that he would be dead soon anyhow. Sure enough a couple of months later, a friend called to tell me the good news. I know it sounds callous but what he did was horrible and I was afraid he’d do it again to someone else so it was a relief that he croaked.

I used to read. People are very sad and desperate. I got to where I couldn't do it anymore because people are so pathetic and refuse to listen to answers.
They just want more, more more. The same people would come on asking the same sad questions about a lost love. It's like, if you have to ask that's probably a sign.
I started with good intentions. I get real premonitions here and there but it's a concerted effort. These people expected wikipedia in the flesh and just doesn't work like that. The best reads were with people who went slow. I could pick up on their feelings not unlike a counselor.
Funny how with some people I could see so much and others nothing.

Did any psychics predict 9/11 or covid?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 27, 2022 2:57 AM |
YES! I used to go frequently to a one of them from the mid-90s until 2018. She correctly predicted my mother's unexpected death in 1997, and then correctly predicted a fatal fall my (then) 34 year old boyfriend was going to have in a freak accident six weeks after my reading in 2003. In July, 2018 (right before she retired) I saw her for the last time. Told me my elderly father was going to pass in June, 2020 from a 'mysterious respiratory illness' (my dad was in perfect health at the time, so I wasn't sure to believe her since this didn't make sense). She later said she was seeing this mysterious illness causing a lot of deaths in different readings of her clients - not just my reading. Sure enough, he passed from Covid 19.
I should point out she also saw great things happening over the years for me, as well - things that didn't make sense to me when she told me, but later on when I listened to the recordings (a year or so later) - it all made sense. BTW, she did Tarot readings.

I used to do mediumship and tarot. Like r52, I found the desperation of some seekers unpalatable, energy sucking and potentially exploitable to those so inclined. Ultimately, I was not interested in being a therapist, which is what a lot of sitters want - therapy sprinkled with magic. But they often are not willing to take responsibility to change their circumstances.

Yes, lots of times. I have also told people stuff that then happened. I read Tarot. I don't charge for it and I make it clear that I'm not telling fortunes. People still think I do.
I use Tarot as a kind of 'counselling' tool. It's very helpful for people who just need space to think about themselves for a while. To think about where they're going in life, stuff like that. People who think I'm telling fortunes don't realise that I'm just pointing out consequences. It's always the ones who never think about consequences. A lot of it is picking up on cues that the client gives you. I'm very clear that I'm doing that. But again, people think I'm psychic.
On occassion, I've said something that I had no idea I was going to say. It's very strange but usually relevant.
I hope that everyone I read for goes away knowing more about where they are in life and what their options are. They all tell me I do. But I don't read a lot. Like I said, I don't charge and I only read for people I think need it.

I got a reading from a woman in a bar once, she was hired to offer readings to patrons for something like 5-10 dollars. I was game so she gave me a reading.
This was about 20 years ago so I don't remember what she did exactly, but I think she read my palm among other things. She told me I was being cheated at work, that someone above me was badmouthing me and that I was being cheated out of better pay. She said it would work out soon and that the person responsible would be punished and I would get "what was right for me" or something like that. It was pretty vague, but also specific in some ways. She felt strongly that it was one person going behind my back and that they would be found out and I would come out on top.
At the time I had a supervisor who seemed to have it out for me. I had worked at this job for about 3 years at that point, and was continually denied promotions despite high quality work and a good rapport with everyone, save one: my supervisor. Sure enough, a few months after this random psychic reading in a bar, another opportunity for promotion came up. I was initially passed over, but the guy who got it was someone with much less experience than me. I finally went above my supervisor and talked to a higher ranking manager, who opened an investigation that led to me finally getting that promotion about a month later. My supervisor remained my supervisor, but she was taken down a few pegs and had hiring decisions taken away from her.
At the meeting where I was told I was getting promoted, the upper manager said "while reviewing your case we discovered that you started at a lower pay scale than you should have" and they were giving me a large raise with the promotion. I actually had to sign something to prevent me from suing them for back pay, which I did because I just wanted to keep my job and get the raise and promotion. It was of course my bitch supervisor was underpaying me the whole time.
Anyway I've always wondered about that palm reader and how she saw so much so accurately!

r63....I had a similar situation with a reader I saw at a bar. I had recently broken up with an ex. She told me that I would suddenly move South, and that within 60 days of moving, my soulmate would identify themselves to me. She then said she saw us moving west within 60 days of that. She said we would get married but the marriage would be short lived...
About a week later, one of my friends was visiting from Atlanta (Im up North), and she begged me to come down on my vacation the next week because she was lonely (she recently wed and moved there because of her husbands work) I went, and ended up moving there...I was able to transfer within my company. Totally out of the blue. That was the beginning of Sept. On Halloween night, I went out and came home depressed, telling myself she was wrong about the soulmate thing. About 11:30, I was online and my ex messaged me out of the blue, claiming they missed me and wanted to get back together. We did..and 2 months later moved to California (he was an actor). 4 months later we got married, One month later I was back up North because I caught him screwing his so-called bff on my wedding night and came to learn I was totally gaslit by them both. I never mentioned the break up or anything else. When she was making the predictions, the friends I was with were gasping because the things she described were spot on. I honestly though one of my friends had told her some things, but her predictions were mostly for the future...and she was on the money.

People often got to mediums for their fortunes. I used to. I also used to go to fortune tellers occasionally, but they're psychics as well. They were often amazing at telling me about me - but I know about me, who gives a shit, but it can make you think they can also predict the future, when they stab at it - but they're very hit and miss. Rarely did anyone ever predict anything that came true. They can also pick up on your dreams.
But I personally used to be quite clairvoyant. I'd get feelings about things. If a friend went to look at a house I could get a feeling they'd buy it and even if they were problems I'd KNOW they'd end up there. That sort of thing. I'd also get premonitions about trips when I used to travel, I'd know if it was going to be a shit trip. Or for example, when I was trying to be a writer, I'd get a sinking feeling when I sent off my manuscript, I'd hear the gayvoice in my head - "that aint gonna happen, gurl!"
Come to think of it - I knew there'd be a vax and that it would liberate us. But early on in the pandemic I was totally useless at predicting ANYTHING. If you're too close to something, you can shut it down due to fear...get muddled.

A short term friendship. Girl read Tarot cards and wanted to do me for free because I had done her a favor. I was not a believer in Tarot or anything of that sort, seemed to me a way of making money is all but for some reason let her do it. Was no charge to me.
She told me two women were conspiring against me. I had no friends that were suspect and not many friends anyway. I shrugged it off.
Some time after that things happened in my life that later on I looked back and remembered her reading. I was living with my mother. My sister had come to live with us. She and my mother got along like thieves. Up until then my mom and I were very happy together but my sister convinced my mother I was after her house. She took me to the bank on the pretense of needing banking and we saw a bank person in a private office where she brought out papers for me to sign off the house. I never was after her house and it was due to me she even had it. It was my grandparents home and they wanted to sign it over to me. My mother made up some story about having me off the house for easier insurance transactions due to a flood we had. I suspected it was fake but felt so bad about it I just signed. After I signed she and my sister told me to get out within a month and both stopped even acknowledging I existed, wouldn't talk to me in the same house. I told my mother I had no place to go. No money saved for a deposit on an apartment. Had two cats to take with me. They needed deposits for an apartment. She did not care. I was heartbroken. I was forced to move in a friend who literally took pity on me. Stroke of luck, there. Took me some months later to remember the Tarot reading I had scorned.
I'm not advocating Tarot readings, btw. Just that this did happen. It could just be a coincidence. Those readings are always, 'you'll travel, you have an enemy' but it did strike me as strange.

Past/present was vague mumbo jumbo but the future reading scared me:
Nine of Swords (Reversed)
Future
Where the situation is heading based on current trends.
Meaning
Paranoia or symptoms of drug abuse or alcohol abuse. Insomnia. Panic disorder and unfounded fear or anxiety. After reaching bottom, you are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Bad behavior that is forgiven.

yes - at the time I thought it was garbage but everything actually did happen. I'd totally forgotten about the reading but when I was unpacking some documents 20 years later i found the notes.

R76
I had no contact for a long time but eventually for some reason contact renewed itself. My sister died a few years after that and my mother was terribly grief struck. She just idolized my sister. My mother then was left alone and she seemed to revert back to the mother I knew before my sister died. Eventually she got dementia and lived alone getting weaker and weaker. I kept begging her to live with me I would take care of her but she wanted to live in her own home. Well, long story short she fell, hurting herself, couldn't care for herself anymore and I ended up taking her into my house that I bought a couple of years after I was kicked out. I took care of her till she passed. It's all so hurtful. I deeply loved my mother though she did do those things. She had another whole side without my sister around.

R82 Terrible. Who got the house?

R83 I became the executor. Sold it for a very good price and split it between her three remaining children and my sister's two kids split a quarter between them.

R15 here. When I went to Katie the Psychic, she read the coffe grounds in the small demitasse cup. As I said, she took these strong Turkish coffee beans, roasted them on a cookie sheet in her oven, for about ten miutes. Then she grounded them up, made turkish coffee, very strin and thick. She poured it into these small cups for me and my friend Pat. We had to drink it down very fast trying not to get a mouthful of grounds. Then she took the cup, place the saucer over it and quickly turned it upside down. Then she righted the cup and the grounds were coated to the insides of the cup and she "read " them. No cards. I have had tarot card readings, but they were inconsequential. Never had a "fortune teller."

You will too lick your sister’s pussy if she gets horny!

R77 9 of swords reversed means period of anxiety and worry as over. Since this was future position the card is confirming that the period of despair you have currently been experiencing is now ending.
