Yes, I was alive when this song was everywhere. My parents were into that MOR soft pop shit, so I had to endure long road trips, listening to Neil Sedaka, Barbra Streisand, Morris Alpert, Debby Boone, Christopher Cross, Leo Sayer 8-track tapes playing, with Mom & Dad singing along.

I was a little kid when this was a hit. My only recollection of it was sitting in an Eye-talian ristorante in Queens, NY with my family, and some poor soul was the live entertainment singing this with his guitar. I remember even at 6-7 years thinking how awful it was.
