Kathy Hilton's Breakdown – Over a Conga Line – Wreaks Havoc on RHOBH Trip to Aspen

Nothing says betrayal like refusing to join a Conga line or drinking a competing tequila brand.

Try as she might to keep her cool, Kathy Hilton could take it no more on this (and last) week's episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

While plenty of Housewives meltdowns have occurred off-camera, unfortunately for Kathy, 63, Lisa Rinna was a witness to hers, and though she has yet to directly confront the famous socialite, Lisa vented her frustrations in a lengthy confessional that ran throughout the episode — and the details are quite shocking.

Perhaps it was the altitude and all that tequila, but the entire trip was a series of fights and meltdowns and this one, according to Lisa, topped the list.

The episode opened at Kyle Richards' Aspen home as the women packed for their trip back to Los Angeles. "I'm on a mission from God to get out of here," an exhausted Lisa, 59, said as she wheeled her suitcase and prepared to leave. Kyle, 53, told Lisa she'd cried throughout the trip.

"My head is definitely in a fog after what happened last night. It's way worse than a hangover. We were at the club and Kathy was having an absolute meltdown. I've never seen anything like this in my life," Lisa added in a confessional. "I am not saying a whole lot 'cause I'm still in shock from what I experienced. It's not something that I would've ever imagined coming from anyone in this group, let alone Kathy Hilton."

"My sister doesn't want to come out of her room and it feels so weird to think I'm leaving my sister behind in Aspen because she won't get on the plane," a frustrated Kyle said in a confessional. "I'm just thinking to myself if she's this upset, somehow this is going to be my fault."

Lisa, Kyle, and the rest of the group — including Dorit Kemsley, Diana Jenkins, Sheree Zampino, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Erika Girardi, and Mauricio Umansky — boarded the jet. The group then discussed Kathy's absence.

"Kathy's not on the plane with us today because she had a breakdown at the nightclub that we were all at… that we saw," Erika, 51, explained in a confessional.

"Kathy was a little off. She kept asking everybody to do the Conga line and I don't think anybody wanted to do it. The next thing I know, she's in my face saying that she wanted to go home and 'If you don't go home with me you're not my friend,'" Sutton added in a confessional, pointing her finger at the camera to reenact the awkward exchange.

Crystal, 39, added in her own confessional that she saw a commotion but it didn't seem to be much at the time. "I've known Kathy for a long time, more than some of the other girls in the group. Like how bad could the behavior have been?" she asked.

In her confessional, a wide-eyed Diana, 49, described what she witnessed the night before. "I just saw her completely raging screaming at the girls and mostly at Kyle."

Kyle confirmed Kathy's rage in her confessional. "Kathy was saying she was pissed off and that I had to leave the club right now. I was very confused because I didn't even know what happened so I said, 'No, I'm not doing that. We just got here, Kathy.'"

Lisa was the one who volunteered to take Kathy back to Kyle's — but as she recounter, things only escalated from there. "We get in the sprinter van and Kathy starts screaming about everything and she'd say things like, 'I'm gonna take down NBC, Bravo, I will take down the show single-handedly. I will f---ing ruin you all!' What in the holy f---ing hell?" Lisa said in her confessional.

Lisa added more about how it got even worse when she and Kathy finally got back to Kyle's house and it was just the two of them. "She takes her glasses off, she throws them on the ground, she's jumping up and down, breaking her glasses, she's pounding the walls and she's screaming she 'made' Kyle… Kathy's responsible for Kyle and she said, 'I will destroy Kyle and her family if it's the last thing I ever do,'" she recalled.

Back on the plane, Kyle told the group that when she and her sisters were growing up, they'd get into vicious fights — some of them with Kim Richards that included biting, digging, scratches and drawing blood.

As Lisa texted Erika a play-by-play the night before, Kyle then admitted that she saw some of the messages and didn't want to go home.

"Kyle is way more famous and way more successful than Kathy Hilton's ever been," Lisa claimed in her confessional. "And clearly, Kathy is still holding on to anger over The Agency (Mauricio's very successful real estate company), American Woman (Kyle's 2018 sitcom that ran for one season that Kyle claimed paid tribute to their mother and Kathy has said painted their mom in a bad light). I think that it's been very hard for Kathy to have it all and then to have her sister have more."

In the midst of all the drama, Crystal invited the group to her home to celebrate her 39th birthday with a Great Gatsby/roaring 20s-themed costume party. Everyone attended except Kyle, who was headed back to Georgia to continue filming Halloween Ends. Prior to leaving, she said she hadn't seen or spoken to Kathy since the fight in Aspen.

"I really, honestly believed that we would never go to a bad place ever again," Kyle said in her confessional against a flashback to a previous time when she and Kathy had made amends after an argument. "And I don't know how I can fix this."

"You know, I'm getting tired of being the whipping boy when I know that there are others who display not the best behavior, " Erika said to Dorit, 46. "We've all seen each other at our worst. We've all heard things that perhaps were not the best. If you think I'm gonna be the f---ing whipping boy for this entire group, you got another thing coming, honey."

She continued to express her irritation in a confessional, arguing that she's consistently been called out for her poor behavior but others don't seem to be. "Sometimes those that are really, you know, like doing the best, are hiding the most. Remember, be careful of those who have a lot to protect. I don't have anything to protect," she said.

Dorit then said in her own confessional, "I think in this town the rules are a little different for the hyper-elite. Kathy's been in this town her whole life. She is part of a family that has a lot of strength, a lot of wealth, and a lot of connections. You have to think twice if you really want to challenge them."

Beneath the smiles at Crystal's birthday party, tensions were building in Lisa over Kathy's behavior. Lisa explained in her confessional how she was struggling after what she'd been through, telling the cameras, "I am very, very in shock still and I am putting on a brave face because I feel PTSD."

She ended up leaving the party early because she was uncomfortable that Kathy showed up and acted as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

"It is excruciatingly difficult to sit and watch Kathy pretend like nothing happened and it's starting to build in me and I'm super uncomfortable," she explained. "And if these women knew exactly what Kathy said about them, they wouldn't be real happy about it, I'll tell ya that. It's so f---ed up on every level. I am really trying but I feel like I have seen the devil and her name is Kathy Hilton."

Lisa added how she's known Kathy for years and described her as a polished and loving mother, a socialite and a pillar of society. "To hear all these things coming out of her mouth, I can't believe you'd think it, feel it, or say it about your own family," she said.

After Lisa left, without saying goodbye to anyone other than Crystal, the other women provided their thoughts on the matter — and a few said they saw a side of Kathy they'd never seen before. Kathy, on the other hand, didn't believe Lisa left because of her and instead speculated Lisa's issues were over the loss of her mom.

by Anonymousreply 1September 22, 2022 4:54 AM

"I don't feel that she left because of what I shared with her in Aspen. She was a sweetheart. She listened. And I, by no means, got any indication that she was upset," she said in a confessional, adding that she was sorry if she was the reason Lisa left the party early because "I don't want to upset anybody."

Erika then went to another room to call Lisa but she didn't answer the phone. Diana joined her and said, "The Kathy I know is very put-together. The Kathy I saw in Aspen was not put-together. Kathy was f---ing raging. I don't even know who that person was."

Diana added that all the women should be held to the same standard and if anyone is misbehaving they should be called out.

"This game turns on everybody," Erika added in her confessional, as she said it's Kathy's turn now.

The last comment then led to a clip of next week's episode. "I saw what I saw. I heard what I heard and I will never f---ing forget it," Lisa exclaimed as she told the women how they were each talked about.

Then, the clip cut to Kyle. "I feel like you hate me or something," she cried to Kathy. "How could you say those things?"

Finally, Lisa is seen confronting Kathy. "You've got to figure out why you have a black heart," she told her.

by Anonymousreply 2September 22, 2022 4:55 AM

Lisa Rinna traumatized? What a hypocrite.

What is it with Lisa Rinna?

First she attacks Kim.

Now she's going after Kathy.

Kathy needs to handle Rinna, the way that Kim took care of her.

I haven't really watched this season, but it sounds hilarious.

Did this happen on the show, or off-camera?

by Anonymousreply 5September 22, 2022 5:00 AM

Kathy Hilton is psychotic. She can barely string two sentences together.

by Anonymousreply 6September 22, 2022 5:02 AM

r6 switch the topic to her daughter and watch her fly.

Which daughter?

"oh, you mean the whore."

by Anonymousreply 7September 22, 2022 5:24 AM

I love Diana's impression of a chicken: "Quack, quack!"

by Anonymousreply 8September 22, 2022 5:38 AM

I think Kyle is the heart of that family. Her sisters are vicious, and they don't care about her. That's why she walks on eggshells with them and idealizes a time when they'll be real sisters and they'll love her back. But that won't ever happen because she's the scapegoat for their victim mentalities. And, the worst thing that Kyle could have done was to be happily married and a mom to good kids...Kathy and Kim will never forgive her for it. Being happy and loved by her husband, kids and friends makes them despise her, even though she's kind and loving toward them (K & K) and their children.

And no, I'm not Kyle's publicist. I've just always noticed that she's kind-hearted and truly cares about people, especially her sisters, and Kathy and Kim do not reciprocate but use guilt and withholding manipulations with her and don't care at all when they hurt her.

Diana is upping the ante on who sent Garcelle's son the racist social media messages.

Erika, you in danger, gurl!

[quote] Garcelle Beauvais' RHOBH Co-Star To Subpoena Meta To Identify The Person Behind The Racist Attack On Beauvais' Son

In August, the actress and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star spoke out about her son, Jax, receiving racist messages on his social media accounts. Beauvais condemned the trolls for spreading hate toward her 14-year-old online.

“I’m usually a very strong woman I’ve been raised to be strong my life has taught me to be strong but when it comes to my kids! It hurts it’s not OK I’ve been in tears all night it’s just a TV show people scream at your TV throw something at your TV but leave our kids alone,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

Following her publicly speaking out, she shared a statement from Jax himself.

“I am still a kid and wish to not be viewed as a fully matured adult, because I am not one,” he shared in his statement.

He added: “I just want to be a normal kid.”

Once the news came out, people began to question whether co-star Diana Jenkins was the one behind the online bots. The claims stem from the heated exchanges between Jenkins and Beauvais on “RHOB.” In order to clear her name, this month she filed a lawsuit against a John Doe defendant, according to Rolling Stone. Jenkins claims that the unidentified troll was the one to incite the racist attack, but framed her as the one who planned it.

“Defendant designed the ‘bot’ attack to create the false impression that it was Ms. Jenkins who orchestrated the attack on Ms. Beauvais’ son,” the complaint filed in Los Angeles states, according to the outlet.

“This action is the only way Ms. Jenkins has to fight back against the anonymous coward who decided to put her reputation, livelihood and life in jeopardy,” the documents read. “Ms. Jenkins seeks to put an end to this conduct for herself, her family, and Ms. Beauvais’ son. Someone needs to stand up to bad people.”

The outlet details that in a statement, Jenkins’ lawyers said that they plan to subpoena Meta to “obtain information about the alleged mastermind behind the bot attack.”

I guess it makes sense why she was BFFs with MJ. But I still think she's the most entertaining person on the show.

by Anonymousreply 21September 22, 2022 11:51 PM

They seem to be accommodating Kathy because they want more drama with all three sisters next season? She’s just a friend but they weirdly kiss her ass. Supposedly, Kyle takes the blame for everything at the reunion and doesn’t fight back.

by Anonymousreply 22September 23, 2022 12:01 AM

It's hilarious how trashy Kathy is.

I think she was better off being "mysterious" when she wasn't on the show.

When the ladies went to Aspen, Kathy showed how she wore bathroom slippers on the airplane to Aspen, and then she was sleeping in her raggedy old pajamas in Kyle's house, while on a bunk bed!!

It was a sight to see.

by Anonymousreply 23September 23, 2022 12:42 AM

I don't care how trashy Kathy is, I love her even if it's all an act

by Anonymousreply 24September 23, 2022 1:02 AM

She's so much more entertaining than "pick me" Kyle.

by Anonymousreply 25September 23, 2022 1:32 AM

R23 "Trashy" has nothing to do with wearing old pajamas. Having a meltdown about a conga line, on the other hand...

[quote] Lisa Rinna Claims Kathy Hilton Called These RHOBH Stars "Pieces of S--t" and "Useless"

Lisa Rinna is sticking to her guns.

As the only witness to Kathy Hilton's alleged meltdown on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Aspen trip, Lisa has been hesitant to share details about the incident—one that even prompted her to call Kathy "the devil." However, that changed on the Sept. 28 episode of the Bravo series.

In addition to maintaining that Kathy spoke horribly of her sister Kyle Richards, Lisa also alleged that the socialite trash-talked many of the other RHOBH ladies. As she recalled in a confessional (but did not tell her co-stars), "It was a barrage of, 'I f--king can't believe that I have to be around you f--king peons. I don't like them, why do I have to be with them? They need to go away. They're idiots.'"

Lisa also accused Kathy of saying, "I have to do everything around here. This is my show, by the way. I have big deals over at NBC. Everyone is protecting me. And I will f--king ruin Kyle."

The allegations didn't end there. According to Lisa, Kathy "lumped" Crystal Kung Minkoff and Sutton Stracke together, calling them "pieces of s--t" who "f--king should be fired."

Dorit Kemsley's name also came up, with Lisa claiming that Kathy labeled her "a stupid, useless idiot."

As for who was spared, Lisa added, "Garcelle [Beauvais] and I came out better than anybody in this situation."

Lisa never brought up these particular accusations to Kathy, and Kathy didn't specify what she may or may not have said, but she did apologize multiple times to Kyle for the "cruel" things she said and the "temper" tantrum she had. The sisters seemingly reconciled after an emotional conversation, but they were later joined by Lisa, and she was much less forgiving than Kyle.

"I'm sorry Kathy, you're not gonna get away with it with me," Lisa said after Kathy teared up while apologizing. "You can have your tears, you can do what you're gonna do, but you did what you did and you're not going to gaslight and manipulate me right now."

Kyle didn't respond in the moment, but in a confessional added, "I can see that Kathy is trying to keep her cool because she has to apologize—but I feel like Rinna's pushing it."

Not hard to believe. Her son:

[quote] After turning himself in, the 20-year-old, very wealthy man-child appeared in court Tuesday, accused of threatening the flight crew, smoking aboard the plane, making children cry with his profanity-laced tirades and calling everyone who dared be annoyed by his antics “peasants.” He hadn’t been drinking on the flight, although he had taken a sleeping pill, he said in his defense. And, yeah, he had called people “peasants” on the flight. “I told all of them I could get all of their jobs taken away in less than thirty seconds,” Hilton said, according to the complaint, as he recalled his interactions with flight attendants. He credited a man at the back of the plane with stopping him from killing a flight attendant. “If that man wasn’t there, that guy [the flight attendant] would have been ____ killed on that flight. A hundred percent I would have killed him,” Hilton said.

Lisa Rinna pushing the 'I'm so traumatised' crap is really annoying me. So she got into a taxi with nasty drunk Kathy and nasty drunk Kathy went off on a rant. Who cares? Haven't we all been in that position at times in our lives? You don't allow it to affect you. You get the friend home and go to your own home. And you forget the rant because most of it is the alcohol talking.

So Rinna is pissing me off. She should go and talk to people who have been genuinely traumatised in their life. By pretending this level of trauma, she's actually belittling other peoples experiences. That's disgusting and she shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. Boo, Hiss! I say. Boo, Hiss!

I can't even hate-watch this pack of fucked-out old whores.

by Anonymousreply 53October 2, 2022 1:48 PM

Same, R53. I moved last spring and finally cut my cable cord. What a difference it has made. The two greatest positives are that I can't accidentally land on cable news that makes me anxious and afraid, and I can't accidentally land on awful Bravo reality shows and get sucked in.

I did go through the Peacock app to watch a few episodes of RHOBH, and I found that it was uninteresting, clearly orchestrated and it wasn't worth the effort of seeking it out. I stopped watching it.

RHOBH and RHONY are the only versions I carrried on watching, and I had already lost all interest in RHONY before I canceled my cable. It wasn't entertaining. Leah put me off for some reason, the new woman lecturing everyone about diversity, equity and inclusivity was a bizarre didactic hijacking of the most superficial entertainment on Earth, and Ramona Singer is Trump-supporting trash and that alone was motivation for me to turn it off forever.

Those women all are disgusting human beings. I used to lament the shows exploiting tragedies but at this point I feel like the cast members are attracted to the tragedies and their minds are already so fucked up that no tragedy, not even the death of Russell or the near death of Kim, would make any of the women sad at all as long as they delivered fleeting attention to them. I'm convinced Kyle and this trashbag of a Hilton would feel a loss but not feel guilty at all if they drove their sister to kill herself, whether by OD or by gun or by hanging. Kyle would definitely capitalize on her sister's death, write a book about loss as Anderson Cooper has done, try to get a TV series out of it and probably would create a podcast about it. And all of it would just be chatter about grieving serving as the scaffolding for Kyle to parade around in bejeweled kaftans and show off her progression of new noses and veneers. Utterly soulless.

by Anonymousreply 54October 2, 2022 1:57 PM

I guess I never saw the attraction, R54. I remember seeing poster ads for the original show (Orange County, I think) and immediately loathing the characters.

I'm as guilty of pop-culture binging as anyone, but I cannot see the point in watching a show where the sole content seems to be watching people piss resources away without the slightest bit of happiness, creativity or charisma.

I can watch, say, RDJ show off his Hamptons house without wanting to kill him/myself because I like him as an actor, the house is architecturally beautiful and what he's done with it is playful and he enjoys it.

These bitches can't even take materialistic pleasure in what they have. And they are ugly and vulgar right down to the bone.

by Anonymousreply 55October 2, 2022 2:10 PM

R55 The initial appeal for me was Beverly Hills. I'll be honest: I heard Paris Hilton's aunts were on the show and I wanted to see them because I have always found Paris and her sister to be so odd looking and I wondered if their aunts were as strange looking as they are.

The personalities drew me in. Kyle seemed uninteresting but innocuous, Kim the goofy underdog, Kelsey Grammer's wife a compelling villain, Lisa Vanderpump (I shudder to admit) seemed like a "fabulous" old lady British Barbie doll.

But they killed the husband of the woman with the mutilated lips and that was disturbing. And they exploited the fuck out of it. Then they cast Yolanda and made it look like all people who have Lyme disease are insane hypochondriacs and that affected my life personally because I had undiagnosed Lyme for years and doctors thought for years I had MS. It's very real and Bravo programmed its viewership to think an infectious disease is nothing but mass hysteria.

I got into NYC and Atlanta. Soon the formula was clear. One person's the villain of the season, one is victimized, one is the peacemaker, one is the oblivious superficial one who makes sassy commentary. All the roles are swapped among them with each new season.

Every season, one woman "has an idea!" And the idea is always a "girls' trip—it's on me!" (It's on the network.) They all agree to have fun and not fight and then there's a fight that usually gets physical to some degree, for viewers to laugh at rich ladies brawling like hens in a henhouse.

And on it goes.

And at some point, you become aware that after the big fight, one woman calls another and they agree to meet at a restaurant to talk it over. And you realize we are seeing the two at a little table, and what we don't see are the multiple cameras that surround them, the lighting rigs, the boom mics, the production van parked on the curb, the signs posted along the road notifying passersby to be respectful of the TV production taking place. You realize the women are doing multiple takes with their takedowns, and laughing in between takes with the other women and crew, who are their coworkers, not their friends.

And then you realize that they all are fine with presenting themselves as these superifical, grotesque lowlifes—associated with their real names and their real families, their children—because it pays well and makes them infamous and recognizable.

And then you lose interest because it's pretty gross.

R43, Aviva calling Carole writer girl was hilarious to me. Aviva really got under her skin, not even Bethenny pissed her off so much.

[quote] Kyle Richards Accuses Erika Jayne's Team of Leaking Kathy Hilton "Meltdown" to Press

Alliances appear to be shifting in the 90210.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Oct. 5 season 12 finale ended with a bang as Kyle Richards revealed who she believes allegedly leaked stories about sister Kathy Hilton's Aspen "meltdown" to the media right after their cast trip.

Talking to Dorit Kemsley during a charity party, Kyle pondered, "You don't think it's weird that at every event, every detail is being leaked to the press?"

Dorit replied, "Yes, I do think it's weird. Do you think it's somebody in this group?" to which Kyle responded, "100 percent."

Kyle explained in a confessional, "First, there were leaks in Aspen. Then I heard from a very, very reliable source that there were other leaks that never made it to publication. I was told who the leak was and it's in this group."

Kyle added to Dorit, "Someone wants my sister to look bad so they that don't look as bad."

Sutton Stracke decided to confront Kathy's biggest critics—Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne—on Kyle's behalf. "Point blank," Sutton said before asking, "did either one of you leak to the press any of this information about Kathy?"

Erika responded, "No, I don't know how to do that," to which Kyle replied, "It was someone who works for you. A publicist."

Kyle explained in a confessional, "Kathy launched an investigation and found out it was someone on Erika's team that had leaked these stories."

Erika denied knowing anything about Kyle's allegations. As she stated in a confessional, "How convenient to accuse my publicist of press leaks. Your sister made an ass of herself in public and everyone saw it. It's really disappointing to see Kyle try to flip this back on me. Let's be honest, she's afraid of Kathy."

Lisa, in her confessional, called Kyle's accusations "bulls--t," adding, "Going to this extent to try to cover for her sister, un-f--king believable."

Kyle continued to explain herself, "People wanted out there what Kathy did to make her look bad and it only f--king hurts me."

Erika and Lisa denied any alleged plot to make Kathy look bad and eventually left Kyle's house. In the car, Lisa said to Erika, "I told you they were going to try and pin all this on us."

Both the women in R59's post look like models for a John Curran painting.

Only the girl in "Park City Grill" has an obviously more likable personality.

R37 Paris has been recorded using the N word and insulting people, she is no better

R58 The "insult" stuck with me all these years because it was such a stupid "insult." Bethenny Frankel has a whole lot of issues, she is sometimes too obnoxious to take, and she is a bully. But she was the only fox amid a cast of idiot turkeys, and while under normal circumstances that would be unfair and unpleasant to watch, the turkeys are all self-aggranziging megalomaniacs who prance around proudly like peacocks, and that's what made it satisfying to see Bethenny make feathers fly. Aviva was useful for proving that disabled people can be witless idiots and assholes with terrible personalities—that's equality. She's a moron, Ramona is a moron, Luann is a moron, Carole may be informed if not particularly intelligent, but she's still a narcissistic, materialistic jerk who found her worth in dating a 20-something and showing off her half-century old boobs.

Who gives a fuck who "leaked" the story of Kathy Hilton's "meltdown"?

If Kathy Hilton actually had a meltdown, that is on her.

She is trying to be big Kath at the reunion. I hope her teeth don’t fall out.
